Me to
You should of used some other lures 😕
That would be kit

Is your grandpa deceased
An “antique from 1995”....sighh...crap I’m getting old.
Yup i feel so Old!
I scrolled down to type the same thing, beat me to it! Ain't none of us gettin younger👴😅
I was gonna comment the same thing. When did stuff from 1995 become antique??😭
Lmao...I was like WTH man?!
@@sethgross52 were all just bags of bones at this point 💀😅
My guy has a fishing lure from 1995. I can’t even keep one for like 2 weeks without being snagged 😂
@AGrumpyVet me too :}
Same
That’s literally me with my senkos 😂 I go through like 2-3 packs a week
@@Bigperk45 Jesus bro you must be broke 😂 that's like 30 bucks worth of senkos

Young men, tell your grandpa's you love 'em as often as you can.
Absolute TRUTH!! I miss my grandparents so much.
Yes i wish i did befor i lost one
I miss mine everyday. He was a fisherman but we never went fishing. I spent as much time as I could with him.
I wish i had just one mor efishing trip with my grandpa but he passed away so cant reall do that
Stfu
My Grandpa was the first person to ever take me fishing. He started my love for the sport. He sadly passed a few years ago. But my Grandma recently sold their home, and found some old little WildEye Swim Shad (Little 2" soft plastic single hook lures) and sent them to me. This weekend is going to be my first chance to use them. I am really hoping I can catch something with them, to honor my Grandpa.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Enjoy the memories and honor him.
I’m sure he’s so proud of the fisherman you’ve become
Damn, hearing you call a "1995 rattle trap" an "antique" was hard to hear LOL
Right
I still fish with Traps just like them from 92 I bet lol
I know right; hit me in the soul.
Well its an antique compared to how long ppl tend to keep their lures I guess
Those lures are actually so sick🔥
FirstStateFishing I know right 🔥
What's up mane
@@FishingWithNorm Slug-Go are fished exactly like flukes I like them a bit better ....
Jitter bugs depending on the size are used for everything from bass to like and musky they BIG ones with hooks on the side are Pike and muskie ones
Yeah
Ah haven't seen you in a while
The Slug is a Lunkers City Slug-Go a very popular lure. The Uncle Josh Pork Frog jar is worth it weight in gold!!!
I used to have the black ones as a kid
Could you imagine him seeing a slap stick or a skip jack
Slug-Go was also the inspiration behind the senko. Theres an article or 2 about it
SLUGO’s were the precursor to the Flukes!!! Great action, great lures. Enjoy those treasures and don’t lose any, they don’t make them anymore.👍🏽
Lunker City still make Slug-Go lures I order $150 worth every year I've been fishing with em since around 92 or 93 I'm old so my memory escapes me a tad bit but I had to be around 16......but yeah they still make em ....I actually prefer the action of the
Slug-Go to the fluke I get better skips and flips outta the water with the slug-go
I was about to say I still buy slug o
I’m wrong, we don’t have any near my NY home. Granted I’ve been wrong before and thanks for the slugo update
@@skittles7001 order line Amazon has them
Salvant Breaux I’m old and forget about Amazon. Thank you for the reminder or my senile old self.
“Oh we got some 8lbs and 10lbs our of it” like it’s a everyday thing😂 I guess it’s easier when you know what your doing. Probably one of my favorite challenges since I grew up fishing with my grandpa!
Auston Winkler 😂 I wish it was an everyday thing
FishingWithNorm I’m living vicariously threw you since I’m out of the country and can’t fish so I enjoy even the small ones! But keep this pace up and I think your PB will be landed soon!

A-Dub Fishing I swear the lures they made back in the day are 🔥
You can't beat old school lures.
I can already tell this is going to be an AWESOME video!

I'm nearly 50 and my Dad used those big black eels when I was a kid. I even caught my first bass on a black with white spots. Haven't seen one in years
I have a couple of those they are called smoke pepper shad and you could buy them on the internet
I’m fortunate to still have both my grandparents and I’m 31 years old. This is a good idea. I’ll have to get the old man to leave me his tackle on the will...I’d love to do something like this as a tribute for him and catch fish on his old tackle.
I really love seeing these older reel and lures! Please do some more classic fishing tackle videos!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That slug lure is called a SlugGo. They are made by Lunker City. They are the original soft jerkbait. Fish them like a fluke or a stickworm. They are killer.
DaiMasters they were the shit before senkos came along!
Foreal
@@natecoyfishing Yup, yamamoto pretty much tried to rip off the SluGgo to make the Senko. Yamamoto said he invented the Senko to be a soft jerkbait to be fished weedless. Which is exactly what the SluGgo is. But the Senko excels at dead sticking more.so than being a soft jerkbait. The SluGgo does both equally well.

I was buying Rattle Traps like mad in 1995. I think they were saying Dude back then too.
Dude! We still say dude, dude!!
Thank you for the video. This video has brought back so many memories that I have with my grandpa fishing. He had a lot of the same lures and a very similar tackle box. I can remember as a kid fighting the plastic boxes to get my lures and hooks out. They went away with those in the late 90s and went to what our lures come in today.
Nothing feels better than catching fish on your grandfathers old stuff
Fishing with memories is absolutely awesome. So glad you had fun🐟😊
🔥🔥 you should do a rattle trap 1v1 the old rattle trap vs the new rattle trap that be something to see 🤙🏼 great video norm
My guy really using a Mach 2 rod and a Mach crush 😂😂😂
When the beat was in sync with the fist bump😁🔥 so cool!
I love the videos I’ve been watching them for years and they always put a smile on my face. Keep it up
That's great that your grandpa's lures still work if they worked back then they definitely worked now !! 👍🏼🎣
Great tackle box with plenty of space and dividers. Good price too, very happy with purchase!
Man it’s always cool to see what the old timers fished with .. awesome video Norm
Bro you have the best fishing channel on the tube because you have such a great and genuine personality. 👍
I like your energy in the videos you make. Keep doing your thing young man.
Now I know how it feels to be old. Lol just to hear you say antiques and the year 1995 In the same sentence. It wasn't that long ago for me but someone your age it was a life time. Lol. Good to see your excitement for these lures.
I really miss my dad fishing with him
My dad's been gone for almost 7 years now I really wish you was here we had some good times fishing I realize he's still here with me now fishing with me on the bank at night and during the day
It's cool to see you excited about fishing Lures...
Norm bragging that not only does he know who his father is but so does his father. We get it, You're better then us. LOL
Lure Jensen makes roster tail. The big jitter bug is muskie fishing.

*Exceeded my expectations **enjoyable.fishing** recommend in quality & appearance - bought this for my 9 yr old daughter, but would recommend it for any age girl*
This is why grandpa's are the best❤
That’s so crazy you sound just like your dad
no it's actually Mike Dawson from the Adam Carolla Podcast
Your Grandpa is taking you back to School .. so cool
Woooow my grandfather passed down his tacklebox to me and its very similar, same handle but the ring clasps are at the top and it opens up in half with 2 3-stacked shelves on either side with a lot of space underneath, doesn't fit spinner baits but will fit most long lures like rapala jerkbaits, it came with a jitter bug! Was so much fun to fish with it but now its in storage as a keepsake. The paint is still in good shape too!
nice. thanks for posting. I like his reaction to the Jitterbug. my older sister Dianna had the best Jitterbug in our family. it was yellow with a red mouth and had yellow tassels.
That's cool, a NEIGHBOR husband passed and she gave me 3 takel boxes with old lures it's awesome to see how far we have came with lure development. I am going to try some out.
Dude I saw the title and was super happy, favorite kind of fishing videos is when we find our grandparents fishing gear and use it, but you pulled out a rattle trap that was seriously the first lure I pulled out of my tackle box I got. Same lure. Same package! I havnt caught a fish on it yet, but the lure looks so juicy
Jitter bugs are awesome. I also have some old ones from my grandpa. there's a yellow n pink one and i get so many nice bass on it. Leaves bubble trails behind it.
You need to pick out your oldest and cool "grandad" tackle. Build a shadow box and hang on wall with a picture of him as keepsake your kids and grandkids. It will be a big family history piece generations down to line!
Wow that's so cool to go back in time thru his tackle box..
Norm makes me so happy and I was having a bad day and when i saw the video I got happy
I literally was passed down those 2 same tackle boxes from my family as well. Looks like our elders picked some quality stuff!
That big crank was an old Poes crank and they still slay!
UltimateNinja1984 I will have to try it out!
First tackle box looks like a Plano phantom. There's awesome you were able to reminisce on all those memories.
Jitter bug was by far my favorite lure to use growing up in the 90s
the big one with the side hooks is a Jitterbug XL - you can buy it today
that brokeback Jitterbug is what I caught my PB crappie on while night fishing
they are awesome lures indeed - my favorite too before the "plopper" style became popular
I used them in the 60s I may still have one or two left! This is one of the best videos ever. Thanks for sharing!
that's crazy because my grandpa's son passed a while back and we got his stuff and we got some old bait casters and old rod and reels and some other lures ,in my opinion older lures are pretty cool
Grandpa clearly knew what he was doing because i have all of those lures and theyre the most productive ones in my tackle box except for the arbogast jitterbug ive never caught one fish on one of those things
Videos like these make me feel so old especially when you call a '95 rattletrap an antique. And blue and yellow skirts used to be pretty popular or at least commonly found around the early 2000s and Luhr Jensen was sold at most tackle shops and if I'm not mistaken I believe Rapala bought them or something like that.
Thats so awesome some legendary tackle box from your grandpa. Thats so cool
I'm 60 years old and have some of my grandfather's lures in my tackle boxes. My favorite of his is called a lucky 13 I've had to restring the hooks a few times but other than the string it's all original. There are too many lures to write about here.
That's awesome finding your Pappas old stuff I found some of my Pappas old fishing stuff about a week ago
Awsome vid, I enjoyed seeing older build styles on lures and stuff he had!
This is why I subscribed. For videos like this.
The “slug” you found is called a Slug-Go worm, and it was extremely popular from the late 70’s and on, some pros still fish them. They’re quite unique, because you can fish them on the surface and walk the dog with them, or fish them like a senko, wacky rigged. My dad won several tournaments using that worm exclusively.
It’s so cool and to see norms family!
when fishing with norm doesn’t know what a slug go is 😂😂
Thats awesome man, Keep it and cherish it man I still have my grandfathers bass he got mounted and his rod and reel.
13:06 you had the perfect chance to do a cheers
My tackle box once belonged to my grandpa, I’ve had it since he passed almost 20 years ago. There’s lures in it that you can’t even get anymore.. I fish with them regularly.
To get the real feel of old fishing lures, use a spinning rod fished upside down and reeled backwards.
Or get a pistol grip bait-caster and do a He-man of GreySkull hook set!
My grandfather had the exact same tackle box. Great way to remember the pasted.
Norm will be messing around then all the sudden drop the most fire edit
I still have some of my grandfather old leur's that are from the late 70's Early 80's. I recently cleaned them up a put new rings and on treble's on them planning on using them this spring. It's just getting to the right temp here on WA St!
Those old school Culprit worms are awesome! Jitterbug - sweet.
That worm was a slug-o... they used to be my dads favorite soft plastic, it fishes alot like a fluke. I do believe they don't make them anymore, unless you get lucky on ebay. I'm always on the hunt for slug-o's, I've only got 3 packs left my dad left me. They are definitely one of my go to plastics as well
Get this to 1k in 24 hours I wanna see another absolutely great video keep up the good work
That's awesome the first tackle box you went through I have the same tackle box
my dad found his old tackle box a few months ago, that thing is a MONSTER of a tb. it has eight shelves for random lures and such in it
I never really wanted to fish with frogs, but my dad dug an oId one he bought like 24 years ago. Gave me a crash course on how to use it. Then I caught a decent pond bass on the first cast. Instantly realized I still have a lot to learn and that old tackle and still be great tackle.
Some of those lures take me back bro. The trap you were using is still my fav. It’s called chrome Shad and it’s still one of the best. That red worm thing is and was one of my favorite soft plastics years ago called a slugo. I always fished them like a trick worm or drop shot. One of the real treasures in that closet was not mentioned and is actually a very expensive fly reel that retains value. The box is on the left behind some random items. The box is marked with a “T” with an oval around it. The brand is Tibor. Those reels are mainly for salt and typically go for 600.00 give or take the size. Keep that reel. It’s one the best!
Those pork baits you found, were used as a trailer on a bass jig. It was called a jig and a pig. I would use the jitterbugs and the spinnerbaits. And the rattle traps. Jig and pig were very popular in the 80's and early to mid 90's.
You and catch em all fishing are my favorite fishing you tubers ever
Keep Fishing! Keep Rolling!
Norm says Dude I got a weird feeling abt that one 😂😂
This man built like a whole Bird
Ben Likes Mac and Cheese which man, the dad, friend or norm?😂
@@proxcuber4741 norm
Lol Norm, the "slug" is called a Slug-Go by Lunker City and is still a big thing today, sometimes old stuff is still good.
That verticle jig is called a Sting Silver and it's primarily used for salt water fish like gray and speckled trout. We used to use those with white/yellow spec rigs for catching trout and flounder. we used the Sting Silver for the weight. We used Mitchell 300 reels on Abu Garcia 6 ft rods for salt water fishing.
Listening to you talk about these old lures.....looks like you’re digging through my tackle box. 😂 I still fish with a lot of these today. Old lures are more like Fliptail worms. I’m trying to find some and duplicate them but no luck so far.
I still have a bunch of old spinners like that from a tackle box my dad put together for me when I was a kid in the mid 90's. Some of them are still in the package.
Bro talking about blast from the past.... Wow... I remember so much of that stuff... That uncle Josh bro...
I used to SLAY the stripers on rattle traps. I always keep a selection or colors and sizes, and it's usually one of the 1st lures my 9yo reaches for.
Epic as always Norm
This are some great funds and a great video norm would love to see all those lures and jigs in action
I'm a grandpa and that looks like my tackle box write down to the blue and yellow skirt spinnerbait and the jitterbugs and I'm still catching fish on them. Keep that drag a singing guys
Man, I'm a bit jealous. My grandpa gave away his fishing gear, and jon boat, before he died. And I didn't even get into fishing until a few years after he died. Such a missed opportunity.
Now that's a tackle box! Use it in good health!
Was that an old bronze Rapala countdown in box 1? Those are GOLD!!! By far my most successful hard bait.
Great 👍🏻 video, laughed throughout the entire day, let’s see the Smallest fishing 🎣 rod challenge!!!
This reminds me of jiggin with Jordan’s video of him finding his fathers tackle box
My dad has the same old tackle box 😂 ahhh the memories ❤
Can't wait to see what combos your grandfather has. great video Bro.
Wow i feel old thanks lol. Thats the kind of stuff i used to fish with as a teen.😅
Your videos make my day! Especially during this quarantine 😂
