On September 7, 2023, within the waters of Koh Tao Island, as part of a project to create artificial reefs, two ships were submerged. This brings the total number of sunken ships on Koh Tao Island to 5:
1. Cargo ship Unicorn
2. Diving safari vessel Trident
3. HTMS Sattakut
4. HTMS Hanhak Sattru
5. HTMS Suphairin
Exploring the shipwrecks in Koh Tao offers divers a distinctive chance to immerse themselves in history, engage in marine conservation initiatives, and observe the flourishing marine ecosystem around man-made reefs. The newly sunken vessels, HTMS Suphairin and HTMS Hanhak Sattru, stand as a testament to Koh Tao's dedication to both preserving historical relics and enhancing the underwater world.

Dived it yesterday. Had what our dive master called the clearest dive she has ever had on this and any wreck ever. Was fantastic. So happy with it we signed up for the padi wreck and Nitrox speciality courses for tomorrow and Sunday. Can’t wait.
