You know what I realized, Diablo 1 and 2 had the theme Terror in their cutscenes. In Diablo 3 it's about hope and they try too hard to put too many themes into it. They really need to bring back terror into Diablo.
yeah, but it's made even more awesome by how it's at the same time accompanied by Marius's narration: ---- *"...Or were they born... **_WITHIN the Wanderer_** ?? ..."* AAAAWESOME !! :D .
I remember the summer this game came out...The day it released we were on our way to Lake Tahoe for another camping trip .. this one our long summer one for 2 weeks... I was so pissed my brother who was 17 ,4.5 yrs older then me at only 12 convinced my parents to let him stay home for some BS reason.... Legends say hes still playing
Sure I'm with you, but I've played D2 for at the very least 4-5 times the amount of time. And I'm still playing D2 to this day, can't say the same about D3.
My (now) ex-step father was obsessed with this game when I was a kid. As much as I hate the guy now, he was the one who got me into more serious gaming. As a kid, though, I saw this intro when I went into his computer room while he was playing one day, and for some reason that I still don't really understand, it scared me so badly, I couldn't sleep for two days.
I felt sorry about that guy when I saw the cut-scene on how he was "rewarded" in the end. Diablo 2 will always give me lasting memories. Diablo 3? Meh.
This was so terrifying when I was a kid and yet, so awesome. It's a shame Diablo 3 had none of the feeling Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 had. The darkness and hopelessness of fighting evil.
More like different direction. D2's cinematics were made by Blizzard south, not north. BN didn't have a cinematics team. If you look at Sc1 cinematics they were also dark and actually way more cruel than Diablo's. (SC BW's opening cinematic is cruelty, tyranny and lack of respect to life as it can be) I'm not sure what happened to their story telling after wc3. They used to show a more realistic and gray world, not black and white as it is now.
Hmmm, since I brought home the very 1st Diablo sooo many years ago, nothing quite touches its original ambience. I remember not knowing what was coming next & physically getting goosebumps & shivers from the music & sound FX! I said: "That's freakin' COOL!"
D3 could have the same main plot as D2 with different side developments but the same ending as the D1. The whole franchise could be this repeating main plot, and I wouldn't bat an eye.
If Blizzard combines the complexity and mechanics of D2 with D3, things will turn around for the better. I am sure that the screaming feedback by the majority of Diablo fans won't go unnoticed. Despite the ever growing hate towards D3, I do like it but it's nowhere close to delivering the excitement that D2 used to. The developers ARE FORCED to make the change, otherwise this franchise's death is inevitable.
Theyre adding the Necromancer as a way to bring back a beloved class but its more than that. The reason Diablo gets less attention than other Blizzard games is because its a one-time purchase only, they have no way of making money beyond that and hence Diablo finds it difficult to fund its own upkeep. The core of the Diablo fanbase are people who sink a lot of time into the game, so adding extra content like the Necromancer shows that money can still be made from the more dedicated players. If they start making money in that way then it means they can release more packs and keep the game running. Blizzard is a business, they cant put much time into something that isnt making them much money. Especially when compared to games like WoW and Overwatch.
diablo2 had one of the finest expansion disks ever made, lord of destruction was great. I hope blizzard are paying attention as to just how many people are interested in seeing d1+d2 remastered.
I don't know what but something is there in this game that diablo 3 failed to deliver. I guess dark tone and good story and those old graphics kind of well suited to theme. tbh I loved diablo 1 and 2 only because of single player experience I had, during countless hours I spent on those two games. I hope someday they deliver a worthy successor to series or an honest remake
Whipping, the cries of the damned and the mad, a man broken by his impossible quest and ultimately consumed by evil... But no worries guys. D3 will have a spoiled brat supporting character and demi-gods.
I am so excited expecting Diablo III opening cinematic on this channel! Best present fot x-mas and 20th anniversary (no). Looks more like burial, not celebration
don't think so, they were filling job position i think started late last year and this year for an unannounced diablo project, one of which being a gaming director position, and I believe they just filled those positons a lil bit before blizzcon this year
I understand not wanting the character but if its just a matter of principle then maybe rethink it. Character packs are Blizzards way of making money off Diablo. If they make money off the core fanbase of the game, which they currently cant because Diablo is a one time purchase, then they can put more effort and time into making it better and possibly developing a sequel.
Jared Bork Blizzard have plenty of money, sure. But Diablo doesnt make a lot of that money. All their other games have ways to make money beyond the base price. WoW has subscriptions, mounts and so on. Hearthstone has card packs, expansions and heroes. HotS has paid transactions. Overwatch has lootboxes. Even Starcraft has the Co-Op Commander packs, Covert Ops, Announcer packs. Diablo has nothing. They could pull money from other games profits to fund development but thats unwise because they wouldnt know if it would work, and theyd take development budget away from their more profitable titles. The Character pack, which if you actually look has a lot of content, is something theyre doing to breathe a bit of life into the game again. If it works they prove that Diablo can be profitable and they can put more money into it, which means more content for the player. If it doesnt work, then at least they didnt just let it die and they can learn from it. They couldnt put out a new expansion because that wouldnt fix the problem. The game needs to have a steadier stream of content in order to thrive.
Louis Pollitt Then add another act and 2 characters like they did last time. I'd rather see the game die than them waste time developing junk and marketing it nonstop. This is the wrong direction, waay too late.
They added an act and 1 class last time. And the thing with that is that its a one-time burst of content. A player buys it, burns through the content, and thats it. Done. The amount of work that has to go into a proper expansion is enormous. The Necromancer pack also has a lot of work put into it but its significantly easier to bring out. And if it works then they can release more content consistently. And if they release more content, more consistently then it improves the health of the game. You can want the game to die but (surprise, surprise) Blizzard dont. The people who made Diablo love Diablo more than anyone else. They want it to work, and character packs, while they arent perfect, are a means to that end. They dont owe any content, any content thats introduced that doesnt negatively impact the actual game is good content.
Ain't history awesome? nice. Now, how are we going to work *together* to make D3 a memorable game as-well? Start with listening to us on PTR forums and other social media please. It's important
Polish version pls. Blizzard's games from that time had best Polish translations ever. Some dialogues/actors were even better than original English. Nowadays noone makes that good translations/localisations.
wait what, they gonna implement the hostile button in D3? Finally, some pvp, something that would make people return to d3 and actually keep playing it.
the ones that crawl out of the floor at the start are called Vile Child, they are spawned from Vile Mothers in Act 4. The very first demon that shoots out of the fire is an imp I believe.
The demons that crawl cross the ground are indeed spawn of the Vile Mothers in Act 4. In fact the demon spawn actually appear in Act 3 at the start when you see the Dark Wander and he teleport/vanishes before you, he leaves a group of the little terrors behind. The only thing not in the games were the small fire imp-like creatures.
You know what I realized, Diablo 1 and 2 had the theme Terror in their cutscenes. In Diablo 3 it's about hope and they try too hard to put too many themes into it. They really need to bring back terror into Diablo.
Ros tried to capture that terror feeling. its cinematic was pretty good
Ian Horne agree with RoS. it was a step in the right direction.
Yeah, D2 was grim and dark and avoid of all hope. D3 is bright, shiny, full of hope and glory. Make Diablo dark again!
Diablo 3 is trash. I have nothing more to add
They heard you
I need this masterpiece remastered
I second that.
I don't want it remastered alone... I want to be able to choose from Diablo 1-2-3 and use my character in all 3 games !!! :D
Should masterful master remaster this masterpiece?
+DARK DRAKONIS That would be incredible. But will probably never happen
Volzarok-No, remakes suck, and it was perfect the way it was 👌🏻
Those graphics were so fcking real in the time!!
Samuel G still are pretty dope. for a 15 old game lol
Yup, they were the best cutscene graphics for the time
And 2 c the new d2r cutscenes .... Wow
So dark, evil and well directed. I'd love to see more of this stuff in the next diablo.
Before Blizzard north was removed and the series went south. PogChamp
Of all the games I've ever played, these were the best cutscenes. Diablo 2 will surely go down in PC gaming history
It already IS in the gaming history
as one of the greatest games
5:12 I looove this moment. The skeletons coming out the pillar of fire, the skeletons... It's just awesome.
yeah, but it's made even more awesome by how it's at the same time accompanied by Marius's narration: ---- *"...Or were they born... **_WITHIN the Wanderer_** ?? ..."*
AAAAWESOME !! :D
.
Best Diablo game in the series by far.
Rob C Diablo i was the best
it had more horror and terrifying music, but you could only play 4 people games in lan
and friendly fire is always on...
6:04 I think I need to stop taking drugs
you want something ?!?!!!!
Marius's nightmares and memories even haunting his inmates... what a terrific way to tell a story... one of a kind...
I got goosebumps just for seeing this on my feed.
I must have watched this like a hundred times and it still never gets old.
The writing in this is spectacular...
I think Diablo 3 is a good game, who is with me?
Sure I'm with you, but I've played D2 for at the very least 4-5 times the amount of time. And I'm still playing D2 to this day, can't say the same about D3.
diablo 3 sucks
d3 is a good game but d2 is a great game
DrZoidberg Channel its a good game but it shouldnt have been named Diablo.
i like Diablo III, but Diablo II is legendary
Brilliant story and one of the best games of all time
One of the best opening cinematics of all time
Now THAT's what the Diablo serie is all about. Dark, brutal, gothic, horrorific. If only Diablo 3 didn't go for the cartoony, Warcraft look.....
it is not that cartoony if you think more about it there are corpses of tortured people demonic flesh abominations and other dark stuff
@@angelgrozd it's still too cartoony... it does not have the creepy vibe of D2... but hey, it's a nice game, it's just that it's nothing like D2
@@theaterofsouls honestly now that I have played Path of exlie and seen what D4 is all about I sort of get what you mean
@@angelgrozd excited for the remastered though...
@@theaterofsouls yeah the D2 remastered looks promising
Awesome memories of this one. One of my all-time favourite games.
Diablo 3? Meh.
Hallelujah! 20th Anniversary!
Hope for the best for the Future of Diablo!
Make a remaster of this masterpiece!!!
Amazing, gets me every time! Long live Diablo!
This was so terrifying when I was a kid and yet, so awesome.
It's a shame Diablo 3 had none of the feeling Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 had. The darkness and hopelessness of fighting evil.
Best game you've ever made! Just remaster it!
they just did!!!! so stoked about it!
how did they go from this to diablo 3. MAKE DIABLO GREAT AGAIN
Lots of drugs were probably involved in the process.
More like different direction. D2's cinematics were made by Blizzard south, not north. BN didn't have a cinematics team. Amazing game. Truly one of the best games ever made.
One of the greatest games of all time.
Overload of spookiness in this video.
0:53 me on Monday mornings
It's either some kind of subtil teasing or senseless posting
or "To celebrate Diablo’s 20th Anniversary"
prolly senseless posting.
Read the description genius, it's Diablo's 20th Anniversary.
unless they are going to do a D2 remaster or w/e these uploads are pointless to me
when did i ever claim these have to be made for me ._. maybe you should read the chain of comments to understand whats really goin on here.
if this gets remastered, im gonna give all the money i have to support it
One of the greatest games of all time. Please go back to this tone of dread and hopelessness Blizzard.
Taking a look back is not enough.
Back when Blizzard still had good writers.
BDiablo 1 - Diablo 2 dark games . Diablo 3 disney game
Tio MELKAI well said. d3 is like Warcraft kind with flashy cartoon graphics and effects. A Disney diablo spin off indeed.
My gosh the shivers. Remaster the best ARPG ever created!
the best game of all's time. i hope you do a new diablo like this game, with same graphics, skills, monsters and darckness
wtf how do I not remember ever seeing this cutscene before?
D3 could have the same main plot as D2 with different side developments but the same ending as the D1. The whole franchise could be this repeating main plot, and I wouldn't bat an eye.
I own this. I have the movie disc that came with the collector's edition
Audio is amazing
I love the details in the background of the prisoners getting tortured it brings more life in the Diablo universe.
this is how you do a narrative cinematic and not just a gimmick like blizzard was doing since 2004.
So, they made the opening cinematic HD? I think this one is way better quality compared to the one ingame
a masterpiece of cinematic
Ah, good memories
start working on the next game, 15 bucks for a necro class in a dead game no thx bye felica
I guess they're counting on the Necro to make (resurrect) Diablo great again.
Theyre adding the Necromancer as a way to bring back a beloved class but its more than that. The reason Diablo gets less attention than other Blizzard games is because its a one-time purchase only, they have no way of making money beyond that and hence Diablo finds it difficult to fund its own upkeep. Blizzard is a business, they cant put much time into something that isnt making them much money. Especially when compared to games like WoW and Overwatch.
Didn't everyone noticed that video is 1080p? Now what does it mean?
That they used source material and not what was found on disc?
Moble, Consle, or Pc?
diablo2 had one of the finest expansion disks ever made, lord of destruction was great. I hope blizzard are paying attention as to just how many people are interested in seeing d1+d2 remastered.
It is me or this videos are remastered?, they look so much better here than the original game
how about a remake?
can't wait for this one coming up
I don't know what but something is there in this game that diablo 3 failed to deliver. I guess dark tone and good story and those old graphics kind of well suited to theme.

YCBSelf best comment
hahaha
Basically the best game I've created by human beings
i'm diggin all these old openings but why? i really really hope this is leading up to something like a remake of the two
thats what the diablo fans get :D a reminder of how great d 1&2 are LUL
How fantastic is this. How absolutely amazing.
Simply the best
The by FAR best Diablo of the Series
you need to bring 1 and 2 to console and pc with upscaled graphics. you would be printing money
We need diablo 4 already.
Oh memories
I am so excited expecting Diablo III opening cinematic on this channel!
Best present fot x-mas and 20th anniversary (no).
Looks more like burial, not celebration
This cinematic feels incomplete without the epilogue, which contains was happens next in the prison.
Best cinematic.
So atmospheric
they need to go back to what designers DIDNT know about game design in those days not just what they did right to fully understand the charm it had
Diablo 2 Remastered PLSSS
Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia..... because live has nothing to offer
THIS GAME DEVOURED MY CHILDHOOD :D
Not your fault? Tell me Marius, how was it "not your fault"?
i doubt diablo 4 will ever come out
OddC00kie9 id rather have a remake/remaster of Diablo 2 tbh
OR Warcraft 4.
they are working on some diablo project, we just don't know what exactly
Ian Horne i think its just the necromancer class or the d1 remake in diablo 3
don't think so, they were filling job position i think started late last year and this year for an unannounced diablo project, one of which being a gaming director position, and I believe they just filled those positons a lil bit before blizzcon this year
And what’s the lesson folks? Do drugs and the Wanderer ignores you.
Why do you post this?
Why don't you read descriptions?
great sense!
How it all began.....
va still sounds awesome
Never ever buying a character pack

Guess the reaction from this video is different than the one with the Diablo Immortal cinematic.
Maaaaad GOOD STORYTELLING
Diablo 3 is still a good game, but it doesnt hold a candle to this masterpiece.

despues pondran el opening de diablo 3 y despues nada
THIS is DIABLO. Not the new juvenile adventure, "Diablo" 3.
Diablo 2 remake confirmed
:)))
"why i followed him, i dont know" - oh i dunno perhaps cause the whole bar was on fire and marius prolly didnt have any other place to go lmao
wait what, they gonna implement the hostile button in D3? Finally, some pvp, something that would make people return to d3 and actually keep playing it.
2 days ago they shared d1 cinematic and now this hmmm what are u thinking blizzard
They have already put Diablo 1 into Diablo 3 now we just need a little more D2
+Montisaquadeis pray @# ..n
Montisaquadeis no.. no one wants diablo 2 in diablo 3. Let diablo 2 out of this shit. We need a remaster
They are adding the Necromancer.I guess that's a little bit.
They need to Re release this on Mobile make it available for iPad and android
funny how those creatures who spawned first in those holes never showed up in any of those games.

really good voice acting, talkin bout the midget. "Do yew wan sumting?"
Why?
