  • Title: Ghazali's Beginning of Guidance (Bidayat al-Hidaya)
Part 2 of 3 of Imam Ghazali's Beginning of Guidance course.
Imam al-Ghazali’s Bidayah al-Hidayah is a highly motivational manual detailing the fundamentals of acquiring guidance through God-consciousness (taqwa).
Imam al-Ghazali argues that just as there is an end to this noble objective there is also a beginning to it, which must be made firm for one to achieve success. He then goes on to expound the fundamentals of this “beginning.”
While being concise and to-the-point the manual is laid out in the form of a detailed daily timetable providing the reader strong inspiration and much heart-rending counsel.
The three sections of this book are on obedience, refraining from disobedience, and the etiquette of companionship with the Creator and with creation.
One of Imam al-Ghazali’s final works, it embodies a lifetime of learning, experience, and spirituality and can be taken as an introduction to his larger works.

Very interesting shawl. It was the first thing I noticed when clicking on the video. It looks like the men's shawl from my country Colombia.

    QUOTES FROM AL-GHAZZALI.
Junaid Baghdadi used to say, “I need sex as much as I need food” (Ehyaul Uloom p.53).
Hazrat Umar Farooq used to break his fast (not by eating or drinking), but by having sexual intercourse. During Ramadhan he used to have intercourse with three concubines before Salat-il-Isha (Ehyaul Uloom 2:52).
The best prescription for good health is to marry young women (Ehyaul Uloom 2:37).
Men of knowledge sleep on their right side, kings sleep on their left, and Satan sleeps with his face down (reference same, p.39).
Going for a bath without breakfast and then delaying breakfast will kill a person. I will be surprised if he survives (Ghazali quoting Imam Shafaai, reference same, p.39).

sanaulla sharief your a very smart person . I admire the things you have just spoke about . I take the same stance as you . Its clear to see islam has been infiltrated and their are so many airy fairy stories that so called scholars and sheikhs hold up as gospal truth . Honestly i dont know if i should laugh or cry .

He (Al-Ghazalee) said in the book 'Al-Mufsih bil-Ahwal': "While in their state of wakefulness, the Sufis are able to witness the angels and souls of the prophets, hear their voices and take hold of benefit from them. Then this condition escalates from the witnessing (of their) images to levels in which they are contained within these domains

sanaulla sharief truthfully i love a lot of his work, but some of the things he said are a bit far fetched . the same goes for many many hadith . I dont get why so many so called sheikhs etc swear it to be true . Why ? Oh because the chain of naration is strong etc etc . .. its laughable
