These cars i believe are half the weight of a nascar. Indy car is it's own series completely separate from nascar. There are some team owners who do own cars in both nascar and in the indy car series. The biggest race in not only indy car but also the world is the indianapolis 500. There are some drivers from nascar who have went over and done the indianapolis 500 in the afternoon (500 mile race) and then after the race, they hop onto the helicopter and fly over to Charlotte and will race the coke 600 (600 mile race) in nascar. They call it "double." Kyle larson was the most recent driver to do this from nascar although it didn't go so well. The indy car ran late because of weather and so he missed the start of the coke 600 race. Once the race finished, he hopped onto the helicopter and flew to Charlotte where they were dealing with weather too and the race ended up being called and kyle never hopped into the car. I believe only 1 driver has completed all 1100 miles in one day. The wheels fall of so easy because they are just out in the open. They don't have fenders to protect the wheel from impact. They are definitely the weakest point on the car. These cars are much more fragile than a nascar. The wrecks seem much more calm compared to nascar because these cars have amazing brakes to slow or stop the car before getting to the wreck. This is also why you see the wheels lock up because the brakes are so good. Nascar brakes are not that good while trying to stop a heavier car. The wrecks also seem much calmer because the way the car is designed, the air flow over the car pushes the car down into the track more so they stick to the ground much better than a nascar. Indy cars also go about 30-40 mph faster than a nascar. Where a nascar tops out around 200 mph, an indy car tops out around 230 or 240 mph. Hope this answers some of your questions. I'm only half way thru the video so far.
Indycar is a different series of racing 🏁 😊
Indycar is only at most 1700 lbs, a NASCAR cup car is 3500lbs 😊
Indianapolis 500 is the biggest race for Indycar 😊
