After watching "The Long Ballad" and currently 24 episodes of "Love Like the Galaxy", I have become a big fan og Wu Lei. I have seen 5 or 6 series with Zhao Lu Si and she's my favorite actress. The are so great together and they both bring all they got into their work. Both very dedicated and doing the hard work behind the scenes when it comes to learning to ride, play the guzheng (Chinese Zither) etc. I saw a RUclips video of Zhao Lu Si playing. Love the sound of the guzheng. When I watched Zhao Lu Si in "A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College" it was at one point played outside by one of the actresses while it was snowing. It was such a calming sound while watching the snow ❤
Nah, you got it wrong. He does not play the zheng but the qin. Refer to my post here about the instrument. But yes, it is so nice to watch LuSi play the zheng, for example on stage to showcase the mangzhong song. Btw Mangzhong has nothing to do with mangoes; it is the 9th solar term in the year (around the month of June) and the song itself is a recent creation by a gufeng-Edm group out of Chengdu (from which, coincidentally, LuSi is a native). No, she can't teach him the guqin, she plays the guzheng which is very different. Let's say it would be akin to expect someone skilled with the electric guitar (which also uses slide movements) to teach someone the subtilities of the guqin ancient instrument. It is not only to do with music ; it goes deeper than just fooling around with a random instrument and looking good on screen. I'm quite sure that Wu Lei, who took pains to get the piece explained and learn to read the ancient score, which uses a very different system than our modern scores, also got the history and some hints about the esoteric values of the qin. Deep respect for this young pro, only 22 years old but with an open mind and eager to improve himself in all respects, not only to be physically as fit and strong as a god.
To clarify, vast majority of that scene is still done by the master. You can tell by the fact that the scene will only show the hands and not full body. And also the master’s hands are darker skinned than Wu Lei’s. Wu Lei only had a few seconds actual playing-the easiest part at the end where he doesn’t need to actually memorize individual notes. It’s still impressive and should be lauded for the effort which is more than most C-drama actors. But let’s not exaggerate, it was far from actually “learning” it.
The people who put a thumbs up for this mistake should try to learn more. You are mistaking two very different instruments. See more in my post about the guqin, above or below.

看过很多影视里有抚瑶琴的片段，都明显是错误的指法，简直是乱弹琴，甚至演员拿着古琴却配有古筝的声音，太不严谨了。看到凌不疑这一段真的感觉他有学，有揉弦还有轮指，无论熟练否至少大致指法是抚琴该有的样子，足以见到这部剧的严谨和诚意
