You can use a different color Quartz on your Island. It’s a small footprint but makes big impact. I opted for the white marble with minimal dark veining on my countertop but my island is dark with minimal light veining. I’m thinking the first Slab is nice from what you’ve stated is the vibe you’re going for.
Quartz is a great choice low maintenance and no need to seal like natural stones such as granite . I hope you picked the last one with the large vein very beautiful . Very happy for you
Me personally, I would do the black quartz. I don’t care for all white kitchens. With the simple clean edging. Now since you want white. I like the last one with the large gray veins. And do the simple clean edging. It looks more modern and luxe to me. My son wants butcher block for his kitchen. Right now it’s granite.
I think you should go with the one with light veining because the pure white will wash out your kitchen and you’ll be over it fast and want to change the cabinet color. So the light veining is the one. I hope you picked that one. But whatever you go with I’m sure it’ll be nice

I have Quartz in all my bathrooms and Granite in my kitchen, Quartz is no work at all and always has that perfect shine. The granite yea it is work to keep it looking polished (not dull) and perfect but it's a beautiful piece of stone and original. Either way you can't go wrong with your choice!
I got my granite countertops from Home Depot and actually got the Black Galaxy that looks like the sparkle one you were looking at with the Bevel edges.. They actually look very beautiful. I painted my cabinets gray and the sparkle on my granite are like rose gold(copper). Its fun looking for ways to renovate you home. Have Fun!

I like the black and white countertops. I agree with you on Quartz countertops the last owners of my townhouse had new white quartz countertops installed with little spots of gray on them and I love them. The quartz countertops are easy to clean white countertops with a dash of a neutral color.
I have Butcher Block in my pantry and I love it in there☺️. If you cook with a cast iron pot, iron pot, rest hot anything on your counter then Quartz is Best. If you have kids with sticky fingers Quartz is best. You can clean it with a all purpose cleaner and keep it moving because maintenance is very low. The round edged is safer. The 1st one in the warehouse is it for me especially for resale value
I have builder laminate which I have loved for 13yrs. It's a dark speckled-ish which hides crumbs well. I loved the quartz Calcutta Classic you showed and I like a squared off edge, easier to catch crumbs when wiping them down.

It drives me crazy when the sun is shining through the windows and all the water spots, etc. show up. I wish I had gotten white with light gray veins. This is such a better choice.

I think you should find a countertop the color of the boards you are currently using. Idk it has a clean and refreshing look. Do the butcher blocks. And as time goes, you could always add a stain to it to change it up.
I vote for the first counter you liked in the warehouse. I wouldn't get the one Carrara Plasma because I have that and I'm disappointed. I wish I would've gotten the other.

Re solid surface: fyi, there are threads on Houzz that mention Corian in Glacier White color, and some of the downsides of quartz. The Corian enthusiasts kind of think quartz is hype marketing compared to Corian which has proven itself over time.

I'm in a similar situation except I have to jump through extra hoops because of insurance and have been having a difficult time with a contractor as well. But thank you for encouraging me to finalize this. Going to make an appointment to visit a warehouse this week.
You seem to have liked the quartz with the veining more than the just plain white quartz. I think you should for the veined one, you might regret going for the plain white one when you liked the other one more.
I IMMEDIATELY said that about the plasma quartz, looks like a kid took a marker to it. I liked that one in the front that you originally passed most; that veining wasn’t as dark as the similar ones in Home Depot and Lowe’s that showed in the beginning. I would like something like it for myself.

In my opinion, the pure white is wayyyyy too plain. It’ll all just wash out in your space. The last slab with the gray veining is pretty and will add some visual interest and contrast.
I like the quartz with the veining - it has more depth and subtle texture than the solid white. Over time the cabinets may change slightly in color due to wear and tear or you may want to paint all or some of them. Like you said “ it makes a statement “.
