I just watched Kancolle S1, the movie version and S2. In my opinion, S2 really made me emotional like in the previous film, especially when in episode 4 Yamashiro and Fusou chose to retire after the war and in the end we already know the figure of the admiral who was in season 1.

@@Arbiter_XVI Although I do find it funny how season 2 of Kancolle is exactly how I wanted season 1 to be. It took about 8 years but they figured it out in the end.
I mean after all it just a ship, an machine what matters here is the crewman on board that go down with the ship. I think the whole point of "Ship waifu" Is dedicated to all the crew on board that served with the ship during the war
Agreed on this one. Imo the first Kancolle animation and its movie did fair better in terms of story. Kancolle 1944 is more like what/how it looks/feels of the in game event, being the first battle as the main operations and the last being the EO with friendly fleet arriving.
The season 2 just strait up showed the reality and the fate of the real ships participated and their history, it's boring for many but many history nerds surely got the gist
@@ezri1529 I dunno, but although they got the history(almost) right, the way they adapted in into anime isn’t that great. Seeing the girls doing a formation is pretty dope ngl, but the storytelling is just off. TBH they could’ve done better.
I agree, well we can also think that if it had been historically correct I think if there would be many broken hearts for both fans and outsiders but still, we can take the story as a "what if?"

大叔父も戦地に行くとき、恨み言一つ言わずに奥さんに「自分と結婚してくれてありがとう」と言って戦地に行ったと小さい頃に聞いたよ。
祖父は帰って来たけど大叔父は帰ってこなかった。
守るため戦争に行った英霊に感謝だし、最近の近隣諸国情勢で自分は祖父や大叔父のように守るもののために戦地に行くことができるのかと自問しますね…

The anime wasn’t that great in terms of story imo. But the animation and lighting makes the show looks gorgeous. The OP is also pretty good.
