  • For 2016, Lexus unveiled its latest F Performance platform, the GS F. Based on the GS sedan, the GS F enjoys all of the refinements of the GS and GS F Sport models, but with the performance benefit of the same V-8 engine that propels the RC F. The GS F also benefits from a few extra performance enhancements, including a ZF Sachs tuned suspension system and the Torque Vectoring Differential as standard equipment.

      Donnny RIno: LFA has more soul and character than any modern Ferrari. You can read reviews to see that from people these cars. I have an RCF in Molten Pearl with Carbon/TVD and it is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven (and I have driven many European and Japanese cars).

    They have Andrew! LS460 has carried a 4.6 V8! Amongst several others, and don't forget the IS-F from 2008-2014. Same engines these two models adopted from, they upgraded internal components and gave it approx 50hp more! IS-F still weighs lesser than these two cars. They might run close.

  • @ICYASIAN95

    If only Lexus put v8 into all their cars years ago.

    • @deltanineclouds
      @deltanineclouds 8 лет назад +5

      +Andrew tran What are you talking about? Ever since Lexus came to US in 1989, one of their first cars had a V8, the 1UZ-FE.

    • @ICYASIAN95
      @ICYASIAN95 8 лет назад +3

      +supasupreemxx I'm talking about making something similar to a AMG, V or M The division lol

    • @deltanineclouds
      @deltanineclouds 8 лет назад +5

      +Andrew tran I'm sure Lexus(Toyota) could have done that long time ago if they wanted to. The only and biggest problem with AMG, M, V, etc. is that they aren't as reliable to Toyota engines. All those cars from those manufacturers have nice cars, but they don't last long and depreciate fast.
      Lexus on the other hand always had the reliability/longevity factor in mind when building cars. The F line has only been around for 8 years or so, but I'm sure Lexus will start catching up the the power levels of the performance divisions you mentioned. Seems you are comparing the cars based on power since you mentioned "V8". But as far as Toyota/Lexus goes, they definitely can build that if they like. Toyota builds custom Crown Royal Saloon for the Japanese imperial family with V8 twin turbo engines making ~700hp or so. I believe they build 5 for the imperial family. So they definitely have the know-how and technology to make it happen, it just too bad they waited so long to start a performance line up for the general public.
      Few months ago, I had lunch with guys from Lexus corporate and RCF chief engineer Eiichi Kusama and his RCF team, and they said Lexus has F cars coming out in the future that will hopefully blow minds away. Lexus does have some nice performance cars coming out now and I think Lexus has potential to rival it's competitors and blow them out of the water (or at least some).

    • @UluvDuddes
      @UluvDuddes 8 лет назад +6

      +supasupreemxx gs400 was also the fastest sedan when it came out. And to me and a lot of people reliability/longevity factor is the most important. The ISFs are easly 200k cars with 400hp. Im tired of these shit euros having major problems under 50k miles.

    • @deltanineclouds
      @deltanineclouds 8 лет назад

      +UluvDuddes I agree with everything you said, except one thing. GS400 was not the fastest sedan. It was only the fastest Lexus at that time. BMW M5 or MBZ E55 is much faster than the GS400 on the straight or at the track. Dont' get me wrong, I love Lexus and I wish the GS400/430 was much more capable. Hopefully, moving foward, Lexus 'F' will start releasing cars that can match the competition or beat it AND have great reliability and longevity. This would be the game changer.

      And when you walk inside, you know it's got cheap seats, cheap leathering, and cheap plastics every freaking where. That's why Lexus is a luxury sports sedan and Mustang is so cheap but with good performance. Don't act like the car only has four wheels and a seat when you talk about cars. Not everyone's a daring track racer who turns off all stability controls and race in the rain. Car is always about business. Safety first, so your customers family won't comeback and sue you for their dead family member. And complain about the cheap plastic that's everywhere in a Mustang, and the cheap tech that everyone's been using for 5 years (but they just included now). And the ride comfort that can never be achieved. And the reliability of the vehicle. And the high end service in the dealership. I can go on and on about how you know nothing about anything.
