  • In the first of what I hope will be a series of monthly videos looking into my listening habits, here are the (mostly - there's the odd CD or DVD) records I bought and / or listened to in June 2024.

Thanks for the shout out Nick! I have the advantage of being able to function with little, and I work from home, so it gives me a lot of listening time. Some great spins! I got the live Naz album in the last year and really like it. Cheers!

      thanks Steve
I'm retired (on medical grounds) but fatigue means my waking and therefore listening hours are a little restricted. We only have stereo equipment with my turntable in our lounge so it's either with my wife and daughter's (the Griswold's!!) permission or when they're out that I generally get great listening time. I try to catch up on stuff when in bed but I just don't like the streaming experience.

    Finally, I’m back to comment!
That was a great selection of music, Nick. Perhaps you know it, but I have a special love for Screaning for Vengeance. It was the first album I heard that really blew my mind!
I keep hearing people talk about The Cult. I never listened to them, and I think I know why. The people I knew who liked The Cult were not into metal. One of them also liked The Jesus and Mary Chain, and I bought an album but didn’t really get into it. Another classmate liked Depeche Mode, also not my taste at the time. And a third guy just by the way he dressed made me think The Cult would not be my kind of music. Now I’m really starting to think I should check them out. But I can’t buy any albums now because… coming up in my next video!

      thanks Peter :-)
your best way into The Cult is probably their Electric album. It's just straight up hard rock! Their earlier and more "goth" style then makes more sense. They're totally different to DM or JMC

@@carefulwiththataxeeugene-fz2ek I see. Then I'll start with Electric when I get there.

Come on Nick, not even a word about Don Ho singing “Tiny Bubbles” or “Mele Kalikimaka”?
