I'm thinking of getting one. I'd love to hear it against an acoustic panel behind the singer. I haven't heard any reviewers doing that yet!

Thanks for your comment funny you should say that as I normally used a couple acoustic panels along side an Se reflection filter for tracking vocals.
It does the job fairly well, the problem I found; was in getting the panels close enough to eliminate the room completely meant that I could barely move and had to lock myself in. They do a good job overall if you've got a relatively dead sounding room to begin with.

Hi David, I was interesting in buying one of these in the states. How strong would you say the sound isolation is? My family uses a kitchen two rooms down the wall I record at and I am not sure if and how to supplement this product so my singing does not disturb them and so they do not disturb my recordings either. Also my room I record is totally untreated has a very great amount of reverb. How well would you say the reverb is cut? Is the 0.07 seconds reverb they advertise accurate? This is a little specific but also I was wondering if you knew about the prim acoustic flexibooth and how you would compare it in term of how effective it is.

      Hi Maxim,
Try and think of sound isolation as an added bonus. It does reduce the volume for sure but acoustic treatment and sound isolation are completely different things. With that being said if you're flexible with where you can put the booth I'm sure you can isolate your vocal when recording.
In regards to the reverb time: trust me the sound is dry and crisp.
I would always put a rug down if you have hard flooring when using the booth. And if you're mixing in that room also, then it's definitely worth while getting some inexpensive acoustic treatment to give you a greater flexibility of anything you do outside of the booth.
I haven't seen the prim acoustic flexibooth unfortunately, but I will check it out and ping you my thoughts if you wish.

Hello again, okay your prima flexibooth is essentially an acoustic panel with hinges so I would confidently recommend the imperative audio booth as the one to go for. With that being said ... Again if you want your room fit for mixing etc check out studiospares.co.uk for cheap acoustic treatment that will help with making your room sonically balanced.

@@davidscott5223 Very useful. I got the idea to put gik acoustic vocal booth fiberglass panels as isolation encapsulating the Ia vocal booth in the future. I checked out the website and that has tons of great stuff.

@@davidscott5223 I just ordered mine. At first I got a horrible price from some major providers but with SamAsh I got a great price! Every component of this is high quality like the two serge wool layers for reverb the 35kg mass loaded foam for highs and mids and the aluminum for absorption and isolation. Very excited! This video made me buy

I've tried this. I actually prefer what I get back from my ear this way ( with no headphone ) as far as isolation... Mic depending there isn't much in it

The designers didn't care to think about from noise going from outside or your performance going out, they only thought about defeating echos, and boxiness that some semi booth has.
This is useless if you can be heard by others while performing.
We are in the stone ages, since no one cares t9 make something really realistic for home recording, recording is not just stopping the unwanted room sound, but also noise anything or people. So isovox is as good as, if you place the off the wall a bit, makes a huge difference.
I can design some better than these scientists who have no arts I mind.
Thanks but thus is waste of space and money

There is a difference between acoustic treatment and sound proofing.
This is a sonic treatment solution .. sure it will reduce the noise a little.. however I don't think anyone would be buying this to isolate the performance.
You can buy vocal booths that does isolation really well... But they cost thousands. Sound proofing to do properly is generally a room "floating within a room" staggered studs and air gaps to kill the ability for sound to travel.
Acoustic treatment isn't sound isolation. It's simply about making the sound as close to as equal resonance on all frequencies. This is why the isovox sucks imo. Simply because the dimensions kill off the high frequency stuff but doesn't quite have the depth to tackle those big waveforms for lower frequencies.
Personally I don't feel there is a huge need to isolate the vocal completely from bleeding out the room.
