Who ever said that Roy is weak in SSBM? Anyone who says that is a liar. He's a strong guy and awesome too! Too bad he wasn't in SSBB. I want him there instead of Ike. But still, Ike is cool too.
You're wrong. He's a strong character, but he's slow in movement. He's also one of the most coolest of guys/girls in Fire Emblem that has ever come to existence.
they say that because he's slower and the area where his sword deals the most damage is the center of the sword unlike marth who deals the most when it strikes at the tip of the sword, what people forget however, is that we have fire when using Roy
As a Roy main, and someone who's almost mastered him and knows almost everything about his playstyle, I can say he absolutely sucks. People say he's weak in Melee because he has nothing going for him at all. Crap Recovery: Check Low Power: Check, Low Speed: Check, Light Weight: Check, Disadvantageous Sweetspot and hitboxes: Check. Unfortunately, he's all around bad, and after loads of practice, and the ability to beat everyone with him, I can still see his weak nature.
@MegaSolEXE1 What about Hector, Eirika and Lyn? Ike (Just amazing) Ephraim (Get's the job done) Hector (TANK LIKE A BAWSS) Lyn (Fast and Strong) Marth (Quick and pretty strong in the last chapter, but neveramazing) Eliwood (Decent All Around) Eirika (Decent throughout, pretty high avoid) Roy (awful throughout until the last 3 chapters or whenever he gets the Sealed Sword) Never used Siglud or Leaf, so I don't know where they ranks although I hear both are good End Game.
@doplys He is not weak he is just a tad bit slower than marth that is all they chose marth cause he was in 3 games now 4 and ROy was in one and roy was just a mascot to promot that fire emblem was coming to america thats it..they still should have put roy in brawl we need 3 fire emblem characters not 2
@MichaelChapmanCo I realize this...Ive been playing fire emblem since it first came out in the US. Dont gimme that. Ive even played the 6th one. Oh Emulators...
Nice. My favorite characters are Marth (1st), Roy (2nd), and Ike (3rd) in the Fire Emblem series and in Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl. I think that Roy is one of the strongest fighters in Melee, but his attacks are probably slightly weaker than Marth's. I hope that Roy returns to Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS as a playable character, so he can with/fight against Marth and Ike. :)
Really? I've never had a problem with Roy at all. I rely on the F- Smash a lot and it ain't bad. BTW, low damage output? Close ( and i mean close) combat is the way to go, cause Roy does more damage with the inside of the blade. Also, Marth has the same Up-B as Roy, but no one has a problem with his version. What i'm saying is, in the right hands ( like me) Roy is pretty good. Just gotta get used to him that's all.
haha i like roy but i dont get why ppl hate marth and why they hate me who likes marth! i dont like him cause he is cheap i think he is awesome and i was playing as him before i knew how to spike ppl!!! so you know i am not lying
@matthiasrox Leaf is great in Seisen no Keifu, but not in Thracia. Irony, yes, but sadly that's the truth. Well, Leaf is okay, not good, but okay. Siglud followed my expectations, and he did quite well. A good unit, indeed. I didn't like the Tellius saga, so I have no opinion what-so-ever at Ike Ephraim is in a game where almost all characters are OP. Hector is great. Lyn is awesome. Marth lacks from being unable to promote. Eliwood is meh. Eirika is meh. Roy is useless without the Sealed Sword
Not true at all. Many differences. 1. Marth has tipper, which means Marth's sour spot is at the base of the blade and does more damage at the tip. Roy does more damage at the base, and it sour spot is at the tip. 2. Roy has a shorter sword, Shorter than Lucinas. 3. Roy's Neutral B kills at 0 when fully charged, but hurts himself, as for Marths doesn't kill at 0, but breaks shields, almost when uncharged. 4. Roy's counter is much more powerful, but fewer frames of stance. 5. Roy's Blazer (up-b) does multiple hits, can be reversed, and can go forward if held forward when using it, all of which Marth can't do. 6. Roy's up smash is stronger, and does mutliple hits. Side smash does more damage and is one of Roy's scariest moves. 7. Roy's down aerial is easier to spike with. 8. Roy's side special is stronger but slower. So I'm not sure what you're talking about??
A skilled Roy can beat any fox
Condoriano Let's show them his powers now that he's back! :D
+Condoriano Sethlon
Roy's our boy
For those I must protect... I cannot lose!
toolkit547 "young lion"
"I WON'T LOSE!"
and this guy just started as a promotion in smash melee now he is truly OUR BOY
Who ever said that Roy is weak in SSBM? Anyone who says that is a liar. He's a strong guy and awesome too! Too bad he wasn't in SSBB. I want him there instead of Ike. But still, Ike is cool too.
Marth and roy ftw!!! yeah I like both of those, though they get more recognition than a lot of the other protagonists they earned their spots .
You're wrong. He's a strong character, but he's slow in movement. He's also one of the most coolest of guys/girls in Fire Emblem that has ever come to existence.
@jarek the gaming dragon - he's really good in project m, i found a new love for him there
@doplys yeah he's my fav too. Even though his sword attack range is smaller than Marth's but his sword does pack a punch.
Roy and Ike are my favs
they say that because he's slower and the area where his sword deals the most damage is the center of the sword unlike marth who deals the most when it strikes at the tip of the sword, what people forget however, is that we have fire when using Roy
Yes, I know this is an old comment, I just felt like pointing some stuff out just in case you still didn't know.
LEGENDARY ROY IN FEH
As a Roy main, and someone who's almost mastered him and knows almost everything about his playstyle, I can say he absolutely sucks. He was actually the best SSBM character
@13jigglypuff It's kind of normal fight/Overworld Music in FE6.
i wish roy came out in ssbb he's so cool
@ganonslayer01
7 was a prequel...
DUH!!!!
Roy needs to be fixed. But he's not the only character that will be manditory in fire emblem gAmes

WELL GEEEEEEEE
RoyMasterX12 I HADN'T TALKED TO YOU IN FOREVER IT WAS EASY TO FORGET
i dont know wat made me play fire emblem a lot
@doplys That's bcuz he isn't.
It's not like it's weak or strong. It's all about how you play. I can defeat any character with Roy

Roy's the one Lord I dislike more than Marth, due to his shitty growths and the fact that he's mandatory in every chapter.
@Masqueradeismybf ARE YOU SERIOUS? OMG! -_-
Weird how this is a sequel to 7 but came out before 7...
@aLvianne7 Yeah. Haters. -.-
#roysourboy

Sounds kind of like end credit music
In FE awakening roy deserved higher base stats and should of been a hero not a merc
haha i like roy but i dont get why ppl hate marth and why they hate me who likes marth! i dont like him cause he is cheap i think he is awesome and i was playing as him before i knew how to spike ppl!!! so you know i am not lying
Roy, why can't you be as good as other lords? Doesn't even compare to how good you are in SSB Melee. :
if anything its the exact opposite
1 person hates fire emblem....-.-
@matthiasrox Leaf is great in Seisen no Keifu, but not in Thracia. Irony, yes, but sadly that's the truth. Well, Leaf is okay, not good, but okay. Siglud followed my expectations, and he did quite well. A good unit, indeed.

Marth lacks from being unable to promote.

Roy is useless without the Sealed Sword
Eliwood is better =(
He is weak in Smash. He has no aerials and he is just a fire-marth.

He made that comment before sm4sh was even out so half of what you say isn't actually relevant
Eliwood>Roy
There is my opening
Roys our boy
