As you are on Windows, if you haven´t done it and you are running a board partner GPU, you might want to check clock speeds for you 7900 XTX in your driver/adrenaline. From what I have read before purchasing mine it seems that there is an issue where the clock speeds in the driver are not the once specified for the specific models causing instability in some games. Another thing you could try is to disable XMP/Expo in your Bios if enabled. This could also cause instability if your system is not completely tuned in when CPU/GPU are overclocked.
All I can do is share my Windows 11 Experience. When I install windows 11 24H2 I go through the setup. Create my user name. Hey there, have you tried a minimum install with the drivers? I was having issues with the full install and switched to the minimum install, it's been much more stable.
Don't forget to install samsung magician and make sure the Samsung 980 pro firmware is updated. Some drives had issues. I updated my Samsung 980 Pro. My friends samsung 970 evo got bricked by bad firmware and he never updated it , which would have prevented the failure.
I like to use occt to test my stuff because it has quite a few features for it. I had a power supply issue and it couldn't catch that on it's own, but when I only crashed with both cpu and gpu running hard that was a pretty good hint; maybe those 2 games draw more power idk; it's pretty hard on cpu cooler so don't run too long if you use it for cpu as well
I had the same problem with that xfx model 7900xtx , I went back to my 6900xt n not a single problem, I think it’s that model itself, see if u can get it fix i return mine
Those SN520 drives are pretty crappy. I have one pulled from a computer that stalls because its generating PCIe bus errors, which i discovered from Linux dmesg. I use it in a usb enclosure now, which doesn't effect the bus.
Some time ago, I had an issue with driver time out. The solution was to revert to a previous driver version, one that I know for sure worked well for me. For example, the latest update, version 25.1.1, is an optional driver and not WHQL-certified. Not everyone encounters problems, but sometimes certain updates don’t work well for some people. Try, if you haven’t already, to install an older version. Maybe that will help you
When my tuf xtx died it ran like crap in Windows and it turns out the pc was using the gpu as a pass through and running off on board graphics. I put my xt back in the system on the same drivers and it ran flawlessly.
Hope u get it worked out man. Dont know if youve had a chance to play wrc 24 lately. But they released a huge update last week and it looks and plays stunning now. Was great before too but i can see and feel the improvements
@frogboyx1gaming i don't think this is an issue with your gpu. It may actually be the cpu if youre running a 13 or 14th gen intel cpu then it may be degraded. The i7 and i9 13/14 700&900 have been causing error messages indicating out of video memory but are actually caused by CPU degradation. Also just try disabling anti lag and reduce the graphic settings from ultimate to very high and see if that fixes the issue before you go shopping for a cpu or entire pc platform
Try older drivers. Have you tried to get the gpu from the motherboard, clean it’s PCIE pins (gpu) and then put it back on? Check your pcie 8 pins also. If it keeps happening, try with another PSU. If with another psu and older drivers still crashing then yeah im afraid something is wrong with the gpu.
Spider-Man 2 currently is broken. It’s not your pc. They released a new patch but the game is still crashing. Digital Foundry said they will make a video. Play the Sniper Elite game. You were playing it prior to the crashing issues so you know that game works fine. If it works fine now then your pc is ok.
What I think..... send your 7900xtx card for warranty repairs!...... What's the conclusion? Did Spiderman 2 brick your card? I don't know.. this this only happened after u played spiderman 2 right?
Try this Min freq 2500, max freq 2600, voltage 1030, vram2714 with fan at 50% and +15 for power. I've been trouble shooting for a while and this seems to run games with no crashing.
May not hurt to pull each stick of ram and run memtest86 on each stick individually. You mentioned you are running a 1000 watt Corsair psu. Assuming the rm1000x That unit should be plenty. The other portion to ask is if temps and airflow is good in the case.
Are all the games crashing on you or just rhese two? Try a game that didn't crash for you before woth same ilder drivers you have been using. So how it goes
Could be windows automatic updates. Since you did a clean 1windows update, have you disabled windows automatic updates. Also, try to remove the gpu from the motherboard and re-insert. Check you have latest chipset ect. Also, maybe remove spiderman and see if other games are running properly. Could also be faulty ram , which is typically the dxgi error code.
might sound weird, but does your psu have an eco switch? mine was turned on and my games would crash. also, could be a motherboard issue. check your ram, verify your games, check windows updates. did you reinstall all your games after windows reinstall or were they on a separate drive just to save time? maybe rollback to an earlier video driver. Event viewer helps. plug in the error code into google. could be a million things lol. pc gaming problems. Also you could try to lower your offset voltage. mines at -25, -30 was unstable on my 7800x3d. Get a voltage meter for your psu. they're like 15 bucks.
Ok this might sound crazy. Im having an issue with the amd drivers in a perticular instance and ontop of that, only with certain higher demand titles. I went into adrenalin to performance/tuning. to gpu/manual . If i enable custom fan curve and enable full power and enable full fan speed. Eventually i will get a driver issue that ends up queing a powershell error to pop in event viewer. Well. Reset that adrenaline page to default. Dont make a custom fan curve or touch any of that....tell me what happens. And yes, have 3 980 pros slapped on my board ..they are just good period.
Check your hotpot temp on gpu, also im fairly sure your syptoms would indicate a power supply issue. there havent beeen many reports of bad drivers but its certainly possible. Most likely PSU tho
Ok i had this error its where your gpu basically completely disappears from your system for split second then Comes back. For me it was due to my psu although it was good enought for my 3080 10gb but when i got my asus tuf 7900 xtx it was still good for a few months but then all of a sudden did this error. What the problem was is the size/gauge of the 8pin wires on my psu they were not as thick as the ones you get on a 1000w+ psu previous supply was a antec gold 750w. When i touched the 8pin wires i could feel they were no longer flexable they felt hard almost brittle but not. Basically the psu unit was good enough but the cabling was just not made with these new gpus in mind i think you need 16 gauge min lower number is better/wider everything went away when i got my 1300w psu. Its either that or my previous comment on your last video maybe, but tbh your system seems to run good 😊 (transient spikes are a killer where your xtx will just go bam 450w)
Hm, im on a 6700xt/7600x and drivers 25.1.1 and ff7 rebirth has been running fine, i love it actually. Dont have/not interested in Spiderman 2 tho. Ff7 rebirth did crash once but i had like 2 other games open at the same time 😂
When you go to finish Spiderman on your xtx...but Spiderman finishes your xtx 😂😂 Should have kept that 4080 lmao. Seriously I hope you fix this..this is annoying as a pc user.
I'd go back to 23H2 as well. My comps been way more stable over 24H2. oh yeah if youre on the beta drivers id try to go back and just skip the game until its fixed, or WHQL certified drivers come out. Its most likely a combination of bs.
Heya Froggy. Didn’t want to be the negative one but your GPU overheating and was damaged. That’s what’s causing all of your problems and the only solution is to RMA it. It’s a well known problem with the 7000 series especially the 7900. AMD says 90c-100c is normal but sadly it isn’t some of them spike to 110c which anything running that hot for a sustained period will fail prematurely. Spider-Man 2 didn’t break your GPU. The heavy load on the GPU caused it to run hotter than normal and it finally failed. Kinda know something about this as I have done many, many repairs over the years on these things and while everyone means well with the suggestions it’s a waste of time chasing a solution other then repair/replacement. If your getting a black screen before windows boots that means the GPU is damaged and has zero to do with windows, drivers, etc.
7900xtx reference cards were the cards known for overheating due to a faulty vapor chamber. Are you referring to any specific 7900xtx? The after market cooling solutions are quite robust, and even the later reference vapor chambers were fixed.
Bios Update? there is a good possibility your Motherboard needs the bios to make it work? Bios I haven't heard you say yet. I bet it's the motherboard bios Either that or you lost something on the card or the PSU I'm on x for DM's need be also try the AMD Forums there are good people on those forums(I was one of them, Challenger rank). I hope it's something easy. The More I think about it the More BIOS could make sense. I don't think they would deliberately trash your card. But They would Very easily make a new driver for a game that needs a bios update. Remember Basic in/out System is the first thing that comes up on a computer, if it aint right then the whole thing goes sideways.
If you were using same windows install from the hp omen it's Def good chance was causing your issues. Ofc I see the crashing right after that. But both games you are having issues with are massively bugged rn and tons ppl having issues. Sorry edit as I watch this didn't think was like 30min when started haha
@@Phil_529 yeah I edited as the video went o n and I didn't realize it was that long when I started and he just reinstalled and put in new ssd before this video, he gets to it all little bit in,
Did you update to the 25.1.1 drivers? And did you do a full DDU in safe mode before reinstalling the AMD drivers?? Buggy games can crash and corrupt your drivers. Without a full DDU, it might not fix the issue. Otherwise, do a system restore to before you ran Spiderman 2 and see if that fixes the crashing, and then don't start Spiderman 2 again and DDU and update drivers first. Everything should be fixed if you do this. This is for sure not your gpu. Drivers are very finicky. PC gaming is gonna be irritating at times, man. Its pros come with its cons, just no cons in the performance sector lol your only other option is 1080p 60fps with fsr on a console lmaooo
So, wait… I’m confused. Are you still getting AMD driver crashes after the fresh windows install? You have Spider-Man 2 running but your Picture in Picture showed ninja gaiden 2… so it’s a bit confusing. Edit: Ah, I see it’s still issues with Spider-man 2 and Final Fantasy 7. Maybe try rolling back drivers? The AMD 25.1.1 driver are actually “beta”. So DDU those drivers and clean install the 24.12.1 drivers as those were the last “stable” drivers shipped from AMD.
@@Frogboyx1gaming I was having driver timeouts a few days ago while playing Rebirth just like in this video. What I did was DDU the AMD drivers in safe mode with the ethernet cable disconnected. Then reboot into safe mode again and I reinstalled AMD drivers with the "Drivers Only" option. Don't install AMD Adrenalin or Pro software. I think this fixed the issue because I haven't had any timeouts since then. And your comment about AMD sabotaging their drivers to force customers to upgrade to new GPUs might not be farfetched because previous drivers were more stable.
It's going to sound weird and be a pain in the ass but if u think u ruled out the card try another motherboard. I've had the damndest luck with that before fixing stuff in the past. It's prob game/driver related for the 7900xtx. Msi or asus, can't go wrong. I swear though it can make a difference especially if we are talking about diff manufacturers bioses

Dod you check the temperature for the GPU?
Yes
Clean case and fans, your gpu might be over heating. Also curve your fan speed to help keep it cool.
sounds like its the amd drivers version
Was having same problems had to disable all raytracing and set gpu clocks and MEMORY to default.
If it works fine now then your pc is ok.
if AMD did this, it would mean forcing you to buy from nvidia instead of them because their GPU will be released in 2 months. Think about it
What I think..... send your 7900xtx card for warranty repairs!......
I believe it's when the card boosts to 3000MHZ during certain games.
is it turning on the amd overlay causing issues?
No
im still on 24.12.1 because the 25.1.1 are kinda beta and have a issue with rebirth that was mentioned in the patch notes for it
May not hurt to pull each stick of ram and run memtest86 on each stick individually. You mentioned you are running a 1000 watt Corsair psu. Assuming the rm1000x
That unit should be plenty. The other portion to ask is if temps and airflow is good in the case.
NZXT H7 Flow case
LOL I don't even know how you didn't have a quality nvme this whole time.
Are all the games crashing on you or just rhese two? Try a game that didn't crash for you before woth same ilder drivers you have been using. So how it goes
It was basically anything I tried
Could be windows automatic updates. Since you did a clean 1windows update, have you disabled windows automatic updates.
Also, try to remove the gpu from the motherboard and re-insert. Check you have latest chipset ect.
Also, maybe remove spiderman and see if other games are running properly.
Could also be faulty ram , which is typically the dxgi error code.
Did you update drivers to Adrenalin Edition 25.1.1 Optional Update?
WIndows 10 or 11?
might sound weird, but does your psu have an eco switch? mine was turned on and my games would crash. also, could be a motherboard issue. check your ram, verify your games, check windows updates. did you reinstall all your games after windows reinstall or were they on a separate drive just to save time? maybe rollback to an earlier video driver.
Anti lag on is causing crashes on spiderman its in the patch notes
Check your hotpot temp on gpu, also im fairly sure your syptoms would indicate a power supply issue. there havent beeen many reports of bad drivers but its certainly possible. Most likely PSU tho
try limiting gpu power to 80% in adrenalin and if that solves the crashing then its 100% PSU
LOL I just got my hands on another used 4090. I plan on selling it this week. FOMO is crazy.
Ff7 rebirth did crash once but i had like 2 other games open at the same time 😂
You could try the Amd pro drivers. Ancientgameplays did a video on that
i think it was currupted windows from microsoft drivers or the game drivers. could be wrong, but windows 11 is still buggy as hell!
There are software you can use to diagnose that drive
When you go to finish Spiderman on your xtx...but Spiderman finishes your xtx 😂😂
Should have kept that 4080 lmao.
Seriously I hope you fix this..this is annoying as a pc user.
I heard 24H2 is having some bugs with some games ya not using it are ya?
I'd go back to 23H2 as well. My comps been way more stable over 24H2. oh yeah if youre on the beta drivers id try to go back and just skip the game until its fixed, or WHQL certified drivers come out. Its most likely a combination of bs.
I can't sadly 😪
Hey Frog... can you post your system specs... CPU/RAM/Video whatnot? if your using an Intel this sounds like the Intel degrade issue.
7900XTX 7800x3d
Spider-Man didn’t kill your 7900 xtx the views did ‼️
Heya Froggy.
Remember Basic in/out System is the first thing that comes up on a computer, if it aint right then the whole thing goes sideways.
try and older driver just because there is a new driver does not always mean it's going to be better ?
its all a shit show
Conspieracy theories...just buy that damn 5090 xD
Hmmmm starting to wonder if just rebirth and spiderman for you rn, both those titles are havin direct storage access errors
If you were using same windows install from the hp omen it's Def good chance was causing your issues. Ofc I see the crashing right after that. But both games you are having issues with are massively bugged rn and tons ppl having issues. Sorry edit as I watch this didn't think was like 30min when started haha
@@alancarr195 Nah, he just reinstalled windows a few weeks ago.
So the PS5 version transferred well to the PC version lol.
Solution? Good AMD drivers. Otherwise crashes
Buy a new display port cable.
Roll back to an older video driver perhaps.
...PSU issue ?
Frog- can you spot me 650, i wanna grab a new gpu. Pay ya back soon. Thanks LMK
Did you fix it? Was it the SSD? Im kinda looking for just a yes or no answer if possible 😂😂😂
😂..it's still up in the air
Yes
@@Frogboyx1gaming i watched the entire video, but wasn't sure if you fixed it. So what was the culprit?...
I am uploading the 3rd video now.
Honestly, day one releases are getting shittier all the time. I'm guessing it's the games.
Exactly
Ur cat calling u
Forgot pc and all of it and go help your Kitty
Please
It's going to sound weird and be a pain in the ass but if u think u ruled out the card try another motherboard. I've had the damndest luck with that before fixing stuff in the past. It's prob game/driver related for the 7900xtx. Msi or asus, can't go wrong. I swear though it can make a difference especially if we are talking about diff manufacturers bioses
This is AMD's way of telling you to buy a RTX 5090
