Gogoro grews immensely since this video was published. It's not uncommon to see at least 4/10 scooters on a big intersection be Gogoros nowadays. The subsidy program definitely had its impact.
Great video guys! Nice to see some better English content out there on Gogoro ( other than the copy / paste press releases ) I really like that you guys addressed some of the negative too. I own a Gogoro, and have people ask me about these things all the time, and the positives totally destroy the negs. I don't even have a problem with seat size, and take people on my scooter all the time, with no complaints. One thing that would have been nice to show is the network map, to illustrate just how many gostations there actually are. So many people seem to think they are just "here and there". They are everywhere! Cheers guys.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, we need more of these to help people understand the potential of electric mopeds and all the benefits they bring. It's a constant battle with today's society because so many are afraid of change or the unknown yet most people want to make a difference to the worlds emissions no matter how small it is. They savings alone from using an electric moped can be a big attraction from no road tax to pretty much no servicing, unlike their petrol counterparts with general running costs and constant maintenance. We need more places to get behind this and make green vehicles more affordable and accessible to people. Keep up the good work!
Really interested in this concept. I have a car (Audi S3) and 800cc motorbike (Honda vfr) here in the UK, neither are practical for my 6mile commute. I have them for other 'fun' reasons 👌. I do understand the difficulty of getting Gogoro to EU & GB, BUT they certainly shouldn't be put off by either current number's or law's. Many people would buy them as we only have models that are priced too high to make them a practical proposition atm. Perhaps looking at our energy sources would give greater encouragement? GB has turned around it's electricity in the last decade which put doubt (as mentioned in the video) on the ethical reasons to go electric. We consistently run 50/50 fossil Vs other and occasionally our electricity grid has a bigger % of renewable energy sources (mainly summer months). I would however only recommend bringing their higher model here with 2 options; 1) bike +2 batteries & home charger. 2) bike and set kilometres plans. I would choose option 1 while those who are city based would likely choose option 2.
Gogoro is from Taiwan... It's freaking fast for an electronic vehicle. It's really taking over. I have 3. And gonna keep buying more. I think I can get it up to about (85 mph) Just need some heavy weight front tires and readjustments.
I want to buy one, but they are not available in my country (Germany) 😭 Here all electric scooters that we can get have only around 3 hp and don't go faster than 45 km/h.
Not true the. European Union Commission on Road Safety has been testing it. But so far they haven't been impressed and told Gogoro to change many things. Their batteries don't give the power and range as promoted. I've had both Gogoro 1 and 2. The suspension is bad. And going up a mountain reduced the battery range by 40% from the tests we did for a BBC technology program. The other problem that Gogoro faces is if they were to go bankrupt there is no plan in place. Where as with a petrol car or bike there is not much of a problem. When the motor bearing in my Gogoro 2 wore out after 2835km it took 7 weeks to repair. This is not acceptable.
I really like gogoro scooter, but it seem the project has stagnant. I really hope it will sell globally with competitive price. The problem is to setup battery swapping network. if gogoro can outsource or collaborate with local power company maybe the cost for battery network will reduce or releasing their IP to other battery or motorcycle producer (toyota did with hydrogen fuel car). Making it more competitive thus reducing the cost. Although I wish gogoro will make few adjustment by making the scooter with permanent battery that can charged at home and another battery for swapping.
I have the 400km/month plan, which is NTD$749 (roughly USD$25). I can swap batteries any time I want. If I reach 400km, the bike won't just "stop", I'd have to pay per swap after that I think....
But if you choose cheaper plan, such as NTD 299 for 100km/month or NTD 499 for 300km/month, you have pay 2.5 NTD/km if you are out of range. (apologize for my poor English)
+ericwu0318 I see their alliance with shops as an expansion plan, but there's no reason it wouldn't be made available for individuals. Thanks, glad you liked it.
Great review! I've had my eye on the gogoro since last year. I hope they come to the US. I would gladly trade my gas scooter for an electric. Are there any accessories available? I would love a top case, to store my helmet and gloves?
There are some interesting factory accessories, but as of yet no top cases. That hasn't stopped owners from asking scooter shops to machine their own. I've seen some amazing customization jobs here in Taipei, most addressing first the seat size/shape issue.
I just bought a gogoro model S, and it was NTD$133,000 which is roughly USD$3,900. That's the most expensive they make. However, the government gave me $21,000 for purchasing my first electric vehicle. I don't recommend gogoro 2. It has a chain drive (very noisy, and requires maintenance) and I think it's kind-of a hodgepodge of 125cc-type motorcycle parts. (That's just my opinion). gogoro 2 is much less expensive (you get what you pay for) and I think you can get one for around the $50,000 range (after the government subsidy).
Right now it's only in Taiwan. Rentals are available in Europe. I wonder when they'll just make it outright purchasable with a home charger, but if that day comes the price will need to be tweaked.
I left pricing out of the video review last year because the prices are constantly changing, and a lot depends on the regional govt subsidies that you may qualify for.
taipei city is full of grime from the 22 million petrol scooters spewing out tons of carbon (also the burning of "ghost money" does not help)...gogo gogoro!
Love Taiwan. Love the people. Love this product. Please bring to South Africa.
It is available anywhere else expept Taiwan? I can't find dealer on Europe!
In other regions it’s available as a ride share only. Expansion overseas soon, hopefully.
Gogoro is wanted and i hope for a bright future. It seems so fun and compact.
Bring this concept to India!
I'm sure you'll achieve great success here 👍
An excellent comprehensive review of the scooter, I look forward to riding one soon.

“Grews” is not a work. “Has grown” is what you should say
@@Dingbobber work is not the word.

Thanks for the comment and Twitter share, glad to see that you liked the video.
Simple video content : Great Scooter . Loved it
Fun fact: it sings "Happy Birthday" to you on your birthday...
My friend just said it sang jingle bells to her this a.m :-)
I wanted one of these so badly! They're not available in America! Waaaa! I shared this on my Facebook page.
it's very beautiful scooter
Thanks for sharing the video, hopefully soon after they take care of business in Amsterdam.... (I wonder how that's going...)
this video is done really well
As a zero owner it is good to see more ebikes emerging
Thank you. I'm thinking about buying one and I have been having a hard time finding information about this scooter in English
Its nutz that this Scooter has been out as long as it has and we cant get them in the US

Would you grant permission to use this footage in a project I'm working on about Gogoro?
TechSpank sure thing. Please go ahead.

Bring this scooter to the states please
Excellent video! I just got gogoro S-model and I'll be posting videos about its efficiency and comparison to my old fossil-fuel bike.
I just watched your video Ray🤗
What's the name of the last tune? Also, I have never seen a gogoro scooter before in Taiwan. I guess it is pretty new vehicle.
Thanks for the review and 2008 tech music national anthem background music 😀👌. Kindly review gogoro 2 and its home charger. Thanks 😀👌

- Look for COUP in Berlin, Paris and Barcelona. They use Gogoro. ;-)
Will it be cheaper to charge direct to Gogoro instead of battery pack ? Using battery packs as spare? So it can go farther.
Finally I can charge battery at home or office

The EU would really hate my 400HP Dodge 5.7 Hemi
Keith Perron Hi you seem to have some interesting points could you please send me a link of that BBC program. Thanks
I really like gogoro scooter, but it seem the project has stagnant. I really hope it will sell globally with competitive price. This product should be exported to indonesia, indonesia has lots of scooters and this product has zero emission!! Well done Taiwan!!!
How much distance can you cover on a full charge?
Can they convert to solar
how much does it cost to swap a battery OR how much does it cost per month to be a part of the battery network? thought i'd miss that didn't you? ;)
I have the 400km/month plan, which is NTD$749 (roughly USD$25). I can swap batteries any time I want. If I reach 400km, the bike won't just "stop", I'd have to pay per swap after that I think....
After you reach the limit, you have to pay 1.5 NTD per kilometer, it will simply add in your monthly bill.
But if you choose cheaper plan, such as NTD 299 for 100km/month or NTD 499 for 300km/month, you have pay 2.5 NTD/km if you are out of range. (apologize for my poor English)
Very intersting, We are developing electric vehicles and supporting networks in Indonesia, hope it will be like in Taiwan👍👍👍
Please bring this to Philippines.
well, the go charger can only be applied by shops?
great video btw
+ericwu0318 I see their alliance with shops as an expansion plan, but there's no reason it wouldn't be made available for individuals. Thanks, glad you liked it.
sir do you need to pay to charges the battery?
Thank you
I'm Taiwanese and I've seen gogoros on visits there. If only they would start selling them in the US

Have you never been to Italy?
How much is it
Does anyone know when they will be available in the U.S. and where you would go to purchase?
How expensive are they? More expensive than petrol scooters?

What is the cost of Gogoro scooters today in Taiwan?
Around 2 to 3 grand if I remembered correctly
If you happen to be a detective and slept on the Gogoro Scooter you'll becoming Gogoro Mouri
I love the design but its small
I want to purchase one, do you know where?
Right now it's only in Taiwan. Rentals are available in Europe. I wonder when they'll just make it outright purchasable with a home charger, but if that day comes the price will need to be tweaked.
Cool. I live in Hsinchu, and I am thinking of getting one of these. Does anyone know how much they are going for these days?
I left pricing out of the video review last year because the prices are constantly changing, and a lot depends on the regional govt subsidies that you may qualify for.
Ok, thanks. I'll check their website.
You're quite welcome, and thanks for checking out the video. It sure is surprising how many views it's been getting.
Sure. Thanks for the upload.

Hopefully each time gas scooters pull up to the light next to a Gogoro, they will finally realize that they are part of the problem.
Taipei City is 3 million people. 22 million is the population of all of Taiwan, and not all of us live in Taipei.
happy that im from the engine time, what a shi... thing to go to school with over 10yeara
Today's modern scooters are all euro 4 and do not have an impact on the environment and city use.
Joseph Buhagiar there is no such thing as 'no impact'!
No usa
. Then I dont care.
Ok. I'm just jealous.
