I rented a Q60 S last year to drive all the way across Missouri. Turned off traction control and put it in sport mode for the entire drive, drifted through the length of the state with a huge smile. Best rental ever
I've had a 2018 Q60 Red Sport AWD for a couple years now. The transmission absolutely lets down the engine, but I think that matters mostly if you plan on using it on a track. I live way up north by Canada's arctic and drive this car year round. The AWD was a must (Which limited the pool of cars I could choose from) and have been very happy with this car in snow and icy conditions. The 2018 didn't have a sport exhaust option, so I've put a Borla exhaust on mine, which was louder than I expected, but was much improved from the factory exhaust. More than anything, I think the Q60 is the most beautiful car in its class (Compared to other AWD coupes, anyway) and I've been extremely happy with it. It's very comfortable for long drives, which I do every year (5000+ kms) and the mileage on the highway is better than I expect for something with that much power. I intend to keep it for a very long time.
Simple bolt ons/E85 and a tune and youre in the 500whp range. The turbo kits are coming out and people are getting 650whp+. The AMS shop Q60 is north of 900whp now. Insane! I have a simple bolt on tuned Q60 and I love surprising all the local V8's :)
More like an M3/4 competitor, the GT-R is another beast all together even if the Q60 can get close to in in strait line speed. @Alex Lin - Mostly for marketing purposes its not a real skyline as that would be the R35 GT-R, its more like a Z in a tux. Which isn't a bad thing when Nissan actually keeps the thing updated. XD

Definitely the AWD; I live in Newfoundland, Canada. It wouldn’t make any sense to have a rear wheel drive here, but I did drive one before AWD’ s were available. Thank you very much, Sarah.
I have a Blue 2019 RedSport 400 AWD w/the red interior and carbon fiber package. If you get the 2WD, you will miss out on the awesome pull you get out of a corner and the launches from a dead stop. The suspension, braking, and handling overall is very nice. The only negative thing that I could say about the car is that the transmission sucks!!!! It is very slow to downshift, sometimes it takes a good three seconds to get the car to downshift and to start spooling up those turbos. But once it does, it is pretty quick. I also agree the Q60 is a bit overpriced for what you get. Mine had an MSRP of $69,000 and some change, I wheeled and dealed it down to $52,000 even. Yes, I got a little over $17,000 off of MSRP. The trick is to wait till near the end of the year or pick up a new leftover from the prior year to get the big discounts. What people have to realize is that the MSRP is a made up number, if you pay anywhere near it, you are getting ripped off. In the beginning of the new model year, the car dealers sell to all the suckers with money to spend and as they rip those idiots all off and sales start to slow, then they start getting big discounts from the manufacturer to move the rest of the vehicles. Now, it is up to the dealer to pass on those discounts to the customer, they don't have to. I find the dealers that will and by from them, even if I have to ship the car to my house from a dealer that is far from where I live, I still come out ahead. A few years ago, I bought a new 2018 Jaguar F-Type R in the beginning of 2019 with an MSRP of $112,085, I got it for $75,000 even. Out the door with tax, title, and Reg., it was a little over $79,000. Just be a smart shopper, be patient and don't be afraid to walk away from a deal. That is how you will get your moneys worth. Always remember, they have to sell the car, but you don't have to buy it.

GPS is using TomTom now and map life time free updates, and infotainment software it’s all updated, it’s 3 times faster than 2019. It is still two screen, but way better. And 2020 has Digital speed odometer now. And of course Apple CarPlay standard. Go to your local dealer to check it out.
I've always said, Nissan & Infinti have done one thing really well, and it's perfected their V6 engines. Unfortunately they have fallen short in every other aspect. Still great cars, I own a G35 Coupe and its such a fun little daily
Most car manufacturers put a little software "in the way" from a dig to protect the transmission and driveline. Although you going past the camera @ 90mph clearly didn't stop you from enjoying it.
@@SarahnTuned, I have a 17 Giulia base and shifting that transmission in manual mode under hard acceleration always puts a smile on my face. BTW you should review a Giulia 2.0. Thanks for commenting and your videos are very entertaining. 👍
I used to sell new Infinitis.....and they really are great cars. But I have to agree with your assessment on price. They don't sit right (price-wise) in the new car market place...and it's exactly why you don't see them more often on the streets. Great review. Becoming a big fan of your channel.
The factory VR30DDTT in the Q50 and Q60 Red Sports is rated @ 133 hp/l stock. Add an Ecutek tune (1.3 bar), FI Full Catted DPs, and FI CBE, and my '17 Q60 Red Sport dyno'd @ 437 WHP & 502 WTQ on 93 pump gas (no corn). Assuming 15% driveline loss, that would be 515 hp at the crank, or 172 hp/l.
This car is in between a stinger--which I own and AUDI a5 and a6 and this car that I rent on business trips. The car is more of a GT cruiser and is not quite as fast as my stinger--the car floats more but is slightly more comfortable--the AWD is also set more on the "safe" side like the AUDI.If you are in the market--get one that is a demo or lightly used to save yourself the sticker shock--one of these equipped like my stinger was 14k more. The interior is showing its age--AUDI is the best and even my stinger interior feels more updated. These things are now 60k is the biggest problem. The engine is very smooth and has a smoothe power band as opposed to my Stinger which gets going fast--then bolts once bot turbos are going.I chose a stinger over this because brakes are better--it is faster and better handling--warranty is unbeatable--and it was 15k less. It is an average car at 60k--but after a year in the low 40s--it becomes a great value like a stinger--they need to give it a better longer warranty.
Great review Sarah, had mine for 3 years now. Love it. AWD is the only option up here in Canada. Its a great little car in the snow. You get better launches with the AWD. IF you think it was quick on the OEM tires try it with Mich Pilot Sport 4S, its waaaaaay better. I disagree on your value comment, when I bought mine to get a German car with same options and power I had to pay $15- 20K more. I thought the Infiniti gave you a lot more bang for your buck. I love the sport exhaust, rattles everything in my house on cold start up, sounds awesome under acceleration yet not drony when driving. The engine is superb, an absolute blast. 500HP is quite possible with this car at fairly low cost . They say its 400HP, but it blows my 420HP V8 off the road, so they may be understating that number. Fuel economy has been much better than I expected although I always rate my cars on Smiles per gallon and this thing gets a shit ton of those.. Ive owned about 30ish cars , including two Vettes and this is without a doubt my favourite, Ill be keeping mine for a long, long time
Lol this the shittiest “400” hp car I’ve driven. Worst transmission, cheap interior. Plastic every where. Worst handling, I had a 2016 c450 and when these came out I went and test drove to see how it felt. My Benz had 40 less horsepower and still smoked this thing.
The only issue for me with this car is it's weight. Lighter wheels and tires make it feel completely different. That being said, it is the perfect vehicle imo. With just bolt ons and light tune my q50 RS makes 500hp . The suspension does great against the horrible nyc roads, I have a lot of room for passengers for road trips, traveling etc. And the awd handles snow very well. You just can't beat the price for potential power/performance with this platform. Infiniti did there thing.
My dad has the regular Q60 and it has a soft launch, too. It's incredibly smooth though and I really wonder if that isn't the whole point. They're targeting a crowd that likes performance but wants a little refinement. Maybe a little too much refinement for some tastes. And for those of you hating on Jatco, well, their CVT's remain a shame but their traditional auto's are no more problematic than any others. The ZF eight speed many have mentioned here and elsewhere has been a frequent sore spot for Chrysler/Fiat corp and BMW owners. It's a good unit in general but it has problems as well. I know everyone likes to pretend CVT's all explode after 60k miles but that's not true even for most (not all, obviously) Jatco CVT's. I currently have a Subaru Impreza with 168k on the CVT Subaru supplies themselves and so far so good. If I get another 33 thousand miles out of it then it will have lasted as long as the traditional transmissions in the other two cars I kept for 200k miles. Good maintenance helps but luck of the draw does as well.
The AMS heat exchanger will pretty much remove the heat soak. And, there is about 70# in unsprung mass that can be easily removed...forged wheels and Z1 2-piece rotors. It will never be a baby GT-R, but it is a beast.
The seat traveling backward and Sarah panicking did make me laugh my a$$ off. Unrelated note - Sarah, has a seat belt ever given you a bruise from your braking tests?
No, but every time I go to K1 Speed go karting I leave with severe bruises on my back and sides. Still haven’t figured that one out, because it’s not from impacting anything.
I love your humor and obvious mechanical knowledge. Regarding the transmission, Infiniti's 7-speed auto transmission has seemed to be a bit "dumb" for many years, including in the 2013 Infiniti G37s I have. One request: Consistency with your rating system, please. For example, beans ?1-3?, cookies 1-5, penguins 1-5? Or are they all 1-5, which *would* be consistent?
There is no exhaust manifold. The exhaust ports merge into one outlet within the head then exits into 1 pipe. So there is no manifold to crack. There are a lot of engines going this way.
Great looking car! Before I started daily driving an ND Miata a couple years ago, including through snowy weather, I’d have said buy this Infiniti in AWD. Now I’d say buy it in RWD, and if you live in the north buy a spare set of wheels shod with Michelin Blizzaks. RWD is cheaper to buy, more fun, less complicated, weighs less, and should get better fuel economy.
I think you are spot on about the price. If it was priced lower it would be more desirable. The transmission does hold it back and for the price I think the interior is lacking. I do love the look of the exterior though.
The fact there are so few of them it's just one of the reasons why I like mine so much. I have all the badging removed and people are constantly asking me what kind of car it is. I read somewhere that they sold only 5,000 last year that is a crazy low number
Your point for me was the price and no ventilated seats. That killed it for me when I was in the market last year. I decided on a Mustang GT, convertible. I'm a big Nissan / Infiniti fan, I also like Ford. For $56K, I felt like I was getting my monies worth with the Mustang, Convertible, AC seats, V8, manual trans, track package and tech package.
Not always in acceleration. From 0-60 AWD is better, but once grip is not an issue anymore, it starts falling behind as distributing the power to all four wheels makes the power delivery less efficient and here a RWD would catch up. P.S. An AWD system adds a significant amount of weight.
They do sell this car without the sunroof. The q50 and q60a are the super base model, but they only have 300hp. But as soon as it's tuned it's faster than a stock red sport
This car is just Nissan trying to stay afloat. The GTR is ancient nowadays, so now they just had to invest about $500.00 in R&D to rebadge it into an Infiniti
I would prefer all-wheel-drive simply because I have to live in the snow for several months of the year. Rear-wheel-drive simply does not work here. And what an amazing car. A twin-turbo v-6 with all-wheel drive. GIMME!
Beautiful exterior even though it’s been the same for at least 3 years. The staff who designed the interior for this car have been asleep for the last few years. Update it already !
AWD will always be my baby...driving 2013 FX50S AWD, not the one to waste anything...I love pushing the pedal to the floor and putting all my horses to the ground...no nee to EGO trip and waste energy on spinning tires and wasting rubber. The center knob is there to allow you to keep your eyes on the road and not use the touchscreen because you have to look at it while your driving...JSYK.

It's got Apple Carplay now and that's all I need.
GPS is using TomTom now and map life time free updates, and infotainment software it’s all updated, it’s 3 times faster than 2019. It is still two screen, but way better. And 2020 has Digital speed odometer now. And of course Apple CarPlay standard. Go to your local dealer to check it out.
@@jiachangwu1 i prefer the dual screens over other cars with a single screen just plopped on top of the dash. (Looks like an afterthought)
Please don’t say Mustang here....
I have a 2014 Q50 and its the same setup so no updates in 6 years.
I’ve been a fanboy of this since I first saw it … sad they’re dropping it but I hope to own one someday
No point in getting a manual swap in this car. The 400z is likely to have this engine with a manual
But mad props to CZP!!!
I've always said, Nissan & Infinti have done one thing really well, and it's perfected their V6 engines. Unfortunately they have fallen short in every other aspect. Still great cars, I own a G35 Coupe and its such a fun little daily
My 08 M45 Sport was at the peak of there game back then! Taking out BMW ,Mercedes and Lexus at the time!
Most car manufacturers put a little software "in the way" from a dig to protect the transmission and driveline. Although you going past the camera @ 90mph clearly didn't stop you from enjoying it.
GM is nicknamed soft shift.
I love the look of it. The info screen doesn’t stick up like it’s just tacked on.
The ZF 8 speed would make this car so much better to drive.
Agree
@@SarahnTuned, I have a 17 Giulia base and shifting that transmission in manual mode under hard acceleration always puts a smile on my face.
BTW you should review a Giulia 2.0.
Thanks for commenting and your videos are very entertaining. 👍
I used to sell new Infinitis.....and they really are great cars. But I have to agree with your assessment on price. They don't sit right (price-wise) in the new car market place...and it's exactly why you don't see them more often on the streets. Great review. Becoming a big fan of your channel.
Infiniti Q60 is an Amazing car ❤️😍
I love my Q60 and when it dies I will buy another one.
4:20 SkyNet has awaken! Car trying to kill Sarah!
Infiniti should made that exhaust stock on all the q60’s, considering the price tag on this thing.
Gorgeous automobile.I have a 2019 Q60 red sport twin turbo.👍👍
It’s pricey for new ones, but for used, it’s not bad at all. Below 30k for 3 years old 20,000 miles.
just like the GTR its main letdown is that it comes from the Carlos Ghosn era of Nissan, plus that interior is old AF.
Agreed...interior looks like they stole it from a 2013 Cadillac ATS
No it’s not the interior it’s the infotainment it so outdated the interior is great
I own a 2017 Q60rs red sport that’s been modified. It’s a monster against muscle cars
You remind me of need for speed most wanted 2005 when your in the garage
True 🤣👌
Midnight Club III: DUB Edition/Remix: "Am I a joke to you"?
The factory VR30DDTT in the Q50 and Q60 Red Sports is rated @ 133 hp/l stock.
Add an Ecutek tune (1.3 bar), FI Full Catted DPs, and FI CBE, and my '17 Q60 Red Sport dyno'd @ 437 WHP & 502 WTQ on 93 pump gas (no corn). Assuming 15% driveline loss, that would be 515 hp at the crank, or 172 hp/l.
AWD because I live in Canada 🇨🇦😉
I love your country 🙂
Canadian tired
from shovelling snow eh~?
live in Canada too!! Agree AWD is best.
AWD with 30/70 split when needed. Give me that baby!
AWD all day if you want traction with all that power and if you get tuned you’ll need the AWD
Quan Nguyen that’s why everyone loves gtr.
My Benz had 40 less horsepower and still smoked this thing.
now that thing sounds great
The only issue for me with this car is it's weight.
AWD here in NE Ohio. RWD in AZ
With a manual transmission it would be a beast.
What’s this manual transmission you speak of?
Adrian Sarah spoke of a shop that put a manual transmission in.
Adrian they’re on RUclips, concept z performance. They used a 370Z 6 speed, it bolts right in with modifications to associated hardware and software.
Sarah -n- Tuned yeah but they had problemz
but with fitting the hks bov on it zolved the problem 🤗
Manual transmissions are slower and more room for error! Stab and go for me!👍
I have the rear wheel drive version with a borla exhaust and a custom carbon fiber spoiler, and it’s amazing

@@SarahnTuned It is the Gforce, shoving you left and right into the bucket seat every time you dive into a corner.
Yes. Infiniti Q60 coupe! AWD can't be beat at launching.
What speed to start the braking test at? I always love "ugh" gut wrenching stops. LOL
probably around 50-60.
Exhaust manifolds integrated into the heads? Does that mean if you crack an exhaust manifold you need to replace that entire head?
There is no exhaust manifold. The exhaust ports merge into one outlet within the head then exits into 1 pipe. So there is no manifold to crack. There are a lot of engines going this way.
@@chrisvance1875 I didn't know that. Thank you.
Very nice car. It always catches me eye when I see one on the road.
I think you are spot on about the price. If it was priced lower it would be more desirable. The transmission does hold it back and for the price I think the interior is lacking. I do love the look of the exterior though.
I really like the look of these. I don't see too many of them in my area which is kinda sad.
Yeah, it’s a super under rated car! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
@@SarahnTuned Under rated and over priced :(
The fact there are so few of them it's just one of the reasons why I like mine so much. I have all the badging removed and people are constantly asking me what kind of car it is. I read somewhere that they sold only 5,000 last year that is a crazy low number
I like that they kept the Speedometer and tachometer analog
400hp & 1.8 tonnes has the same power-to-weight as a civic with an ecu change...
Zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds. AWD always better traction in acceleration and cornering.
Not always in acceleration. From 0-60 AWD is better, but once grip is not an issue anymore, it starts falling behind as distributing the power to all four wheels makes the power delivery less efficient and here a RWD would catch up.
P.S. An AWD system adds a significant amount of weight.
Yousef Al-A'ssaf يوسف العسّاف I guess if you’re at the track.
When you put my 2 favorite subjects together 😍
I have a white rwd red sport it’s an amazing car !!!!
Haw! Haw! I believe you nailed it.
As Sarah said, it's a FANTASTIC car...for $15,000 less. Its excessive price is why this car doesn't sell (and that the interior is out-dated).
Q GANG WYA
The bolster test should be made as your trademark test in every review 😄
2:39 We all want to see that
I always love the looks of the G35, G37, and now Q60. I enjoy your geeky side😄
2:38 I think we all appreciate the bolster test. Dash does look stangerish.
The Q50/Q60 are badass and underrated. I have a Q50RS and it is definitely a Dr Jeckyl Mr Hyde Daily car. Drive modes matter!
Is this the engine for the new 400z...🤔
Yes sir
AWD will always be my baby...driving 2013 FX50S AWD, not the one to waste anything...I love pushing the pedal to the floor and putting all my horses to the ground...no nee to EGO trip and waste energy on spinning tires and wasting rubber. The center knob is there to allow you to keep your eyes on the road and not use the touchscreen because you have to look at it while your driving...JSYK.
