Most boring video ever and next time you guys ride, iconic motorcycles as this bikes, show the bikes more often on that boring road you guys are riding off. 💪💪 For each one off u 😁
If you want to stare at a buell, go buy one. You sound intelligent, should be able to get a good deal on one.
It’s nice to have something different than everyone else.
Dude I love the custom fork gators. Those must have set you back a pretty penny.
Which gators?
Love the roads you have around you and so little traffic! Cool…
Oh I am very lucky to have such great roads here! I am dying to go for a ride
I have 97 m2. I had to have shock rebuilt. Race tech out of California did it and did an amazing job! I live in Missouri. Me paying for shipping both ways and rebuild was 300$.
They quoted $350 which is still reasonable. I'm tempted to try to do it myself but I could use the time to work on other parts while its down. What part of Missouri?
Northwest. Like 10 mins from saint Joseph. Why? Seen you had MO lisence plates haha
@@emcdowell0309 just wondering in case we were neighbors! Im in Wentzville
Looked like a great day, with a couple things here and there juuust to keep it interesting.
I look forward to seeing you sort this Buell out. I have owned Buells since 1998 which ensured I am always poor but I love the tubers. Good luck.
Thank you!
Man I’m so glad you posted this. I would like a more detailed view of the carb clean out. I just bought one of these and the exhaust is making popping noises. I’d like to clean it out if possible. Appreciate the video series man! Thanks for posting the ride. This thing sounds great!
Just search for any sportster carb rebuild video. Keihin cvk40
Welcome to the world of Buells. They all seemed to have been abused by previous owners. Now folks like you gotta breath some new life into em. Gotta say they can get expensive. I got twins shock on my X1. It is awesome but it wasn’t cheap. Good luck man
Luckily I got this thing dort cheap as I have to spend a bunch on it. I'll do the bike justice for sure and have all the fun on it! Thanks for tuning in!
Anyone me want a Buell absolutely yes! Great video man. Totally miss my M2 but can’t wait until my sporty is done. Once again good job!!
Thanks Chad! In the moment I about left it at the end of the driveway with a FREE sign lol. JK, I have to make this thing right!
Good old bike❤️
Definitely a fun bike!
Lucky You Made It Home .
For real! Crazy timing
Great! Looks like a fun trip, nice roads! That machine is gonna be awsome when you are done!
Thank ya! Im excited to get it sorted and have all the fun with it!
Nice, looking forward to seeing more
Dragging it in the shop tomorrow to do a bunch of work!
Just keep om doing what your doing
Thanks Bert, I'll keep trying
COWS! Great movie! Coen brothers, O Brother. I damn near spilt my cold snack, laughing my ass off!
About dang time someone got that joke! 😂😂 Fantastic movie as all Coen bro movies are!
Great roads! And it’s not you Buell transmissions are terrible.
Oh we have some AMAZING roads where I live. These are just some simple slow ones perfect for a test run. I do plan to tinker with linkages and likely the shift paw to confirm its how it should be
I can't believe how empty your roads are!! Looks a great place to live. I know a guy had one of those buells. Was nothing but trouble. There's a great bike in there somewhere though.
Well the roads we pick are usually less trafficked. Very lucky to have such awesome roads right outside my door
Thanks for the ride! Ive never ridden a Harley but I would imagine its a whole different experience from a Japanese bike! And not necessarily better in my opinion, just different. They just dont seem as tight or as nimble but maybe thats not the point. Different sound different everything. I dont know. The shock 'boot' was funny.
This was a unique bike in that the chassis was light and nimble but still felt like a sportster with this engine. It was cool but I don't miss it
Good ride kid I kinda liked the overall sound I've mostly rode Harley but I really Loved my Honda CX 500 Custom That was my favorite bike I like um stock but what you do to um is something special
Thank ya Mike! It sounds decent in the video but still lacks a crisp tone to it. I'll sort that after I get this suspension dialed!
I had the same year... if it still has the barrel key, mine caused it to cut out at random bc the key was worn out(and ignition).. ended up just replacing the ignition to a actual key... enjoy your videos and i love buells. (just a observation) hope to see a new buell video soon
I've definitely heard of guys from the Harley world having bad ignitions. I'll have to mess with that but I am leaning to charging issues as after being on the charger overnight it was flawless again
I so wanna get my Buell back on the road (2000 M2 quite a few aftermarket upgrades but needs tons of work) My starter died early, I think it needs a heat shield because it's too close to an exhaust pipe that possibly keeps it hot & wears it out quicker.
I doubt its the exhaust as all harley stuff is like that. Check ground and power connections first
@@BrickHouseBuilds The starter was bad and I replaced it but noticed it sits very close to the exhaust pipe.....It was just a theory, I never checked the starter temperature to see how hot the closest part of it to the pipe gets.
That's a very interesting paint job. What is the story behind it?
No clue, it was just done by the PO and his buddy at some point
Have similar injury in my foot. I use Klicktronic Gir-changer. Have used it on Thunderace and VN1500. Just a tip if anyone is interested. Pretty ? no, Can I ride a motorcycle? yes
Gotta do what ya gotta do! I've made adaptations to my leg/foot movement to compensate while shifting and its alright. As long as I pay attention and am deliberate with the motions I'm usually good
Great roads ! What state is this ?
Missouri a bit west of St Louis. We have some great roads all around me luckily.
Which bike would you rather own, the Buell or the Bandit?
Oh don't torment me like that! With the Buell still having some big issues to sort before I can REEEAAALLLY have fun with it it means I havent yet fallen in love with the bike. As of now the winner would be the Bandit BUT.... give me a couple months to sort this thing and we can re-evaluate that statement
Is the Buell essentially a repackaged Sportster? I've never really paid much attention to them but since you have one it kinda piqued my interest. I just recently found your channel, excellent content 👍
Thanks James! For your question no. Erik Buell was a long time racer and partnered with Harley to make a sport bike. He designed the chassis and HD help lead/fund R&D. They obviously provided the Sportster based engines. HD leadership killed the brand early making a mistake and then tried to do their own which resulted in the XR1200R which is in fact a repackaged Sportster. Buell is an interesting company for sure. Give them a Google and you will see some rad stuff!
@@BrickHouseBuilds thanks, I'll definitely do that.
@@BrickHouseBuilds I looked at the history of the Buell. They were all over the board. The latest with the Rotax engine is quite interesting.
@@JamesCouch777 agreed! I know my brain is filled with ideas and can only imagine what I'd be trying if I had a budget like he may!
No speedo ?
The speed sensor cable has a wear spot in it and is potentially bad. A common issue. The odometer is INOP so there is a chance the gauge itself is bad. We will see.
The Speedos on these die, not just the sensor. Aftermarket ignition switches die too from vibration and being junk. Still awesome bike. Misfires can be fouled plugs or original skip spark ignition feature when rear cylinder gets hot
