Great Organ Trio...One of the things I like best about Bobby Brooms playing is it's so very lyrical, groovin' and easy to process.

Never heard anyone with a time feel and phrasing like this on guitar! This is jazz! This is the real jazz! Wish some of the new cats would have at least a little of this swag! Without this attitude with all respect what they play is not the real American jazz feeling… I know it’s artsy and takes a lot to be like that but the way Bobby plays moves your body from within!! The accents the way he attacks the note! I’m going crazy can’t stop listening that’s the way to play !!!!!

Another fine example of what makes Bobby’s playing stand out: Technically brilliant but with inspired groove. The full package.

YES! Honestly, there's no other way to play jazz. If you can't make it dance in some way, you're doing it wrong.

Hi Michael, this group is no longer active, but before it disbanded in 2013, we’d toured as opening act for Steely Dan, had a number one record on the national jazz radio chart, had played many major jazz venues around the country, traveled abroad to perform, and were about to start playing national jazz festivals. If you listen to Jazz Radio you’ll still hear us from time to time.

@@bobbybroom No, Bobby. Thank you! Whenever I see the throng of guitar playing "geniuses" throw their chord charts in my face, I refer ALL OF THEM to this video. These people have never heard ANYTHING like what you and Chris Foreman do in their collective lives. Count on it!

      Thanks Michael.
Although we disbanded in 2013, when we were active as DBOT (from 2004-2013), we grew to be quite popular relative to the potential of independent jazz artists. We first recorded for a record label in 2004, then subsequently made three more records that we self-produced and released on a label under a licensing deal. During that time, our records got top 5 national jazz radio play and the final one, "Wonderful!" went to #1. We were touring all over the States, in Europe and were about to get bigger when we finally called it quits. I still hear our records on the radio (SiriusXM, etc.).

I was able to track down that song. This song was actually a Motown-driven soul/funk song by Earth, Wind and Fire. This jazz organ trio made a good attempt to try to make that EWF number their own jazz standard, with changes. They made the rhythm in a style of a jump-blues swing instead of a soul-funk ballad. It does have some swing-funk stylings thanks to the jazz organ licks of Chris Foreman.
Overall, I see bits of Jimmy McGriff and George Benson and maybe Marvin "Smitty" Smith in that performance.
