- Lake Atitlan, Guatemala is said to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. You can be the judge of that. I will say it was surprising to see what goes on around lake side as well as how the water is preserved.
It is a wonderfully beautiful lake but it is sad to see all the waste that is left behind. However, a lot of the world is heading that way these days, I guess.

So yes, the further south you go the better. The people in Colombia and Paraguay are super friendly.
The problem today is finding a country where the US State Dept hasn't got its claws in the government nor opposition. That's pretty hard to do. :-)
Crazy how beautiful and ugly a place can be. We humans do make a lot of waste don’t we.
It is amazing how much waste each of us produces each day really. And with no where to put it lake side is where it goes. Most of us are just lucky it gets taken away somewhere we don't have to look at it.

Matt may have found a good peeing spot, but did you discover the best dressing spot? That squalor would not have gone down well with Mat. You don't trash the place. Those Mexicans are tuff. A bit of bacterial water will not affect them LOL. A crater lake is a good olace to start. Tell Matt you and him are good together, It saves two other people. I bet he bites.
Haha I think you might be right! We’ll have to see how these Guatemalans are haha but I recon they are just as strong as Mexicans.
