This series has helped me solidify my ideas of Fourier Analysis. I found wavelets quite difficult. Next, I plan to watch your control system lectures. Thanks Dr. Steve Brunton from India!
Wavelets are NOT difficult, believe me. They were MADE difficult by academic unnecessary complexity being introduced to make the subject publishable on math journals and milk the hell out of a simple concept.
Many thanks for your youtube lecture about Image Compression, it is really useful and I have some question to get benefit form your experience, please. 1- I would like to know, how I can calculate the compression ratio for all the transforms and compare the results for showing the improved. Because, there is a mistake in my work. 2- How can I calculate bpp, MER, PNSR, for all the transforms, to compare between them. 3- How can I plot the original and process signal to compare between them. Many thanks Nada
Could we compress the "low resolution" details with fft based compression, that works better with long periodic shades and the high frequency content with wavelets? The combination would get better quality over output size ?

This is actually awesome. I think these will even help me with drawing, like now i know where to add detail if I want to draw realistic
try to implentment A-trous but know little about wavelet, this video is really helpful
Accidentally stumbled upon your channel. You are very clear and simple to explain. Thank you so much.
And your PDF is a must have)
Great Thanks for your simple and professional explanation...
One the best vids I've seen
thanks
Thanks a lot! You explained it very well

Is it possible to express wavelet transform using matrix as in Fourier transform where we have DFT matrix?

Always had a question, do you just write in the mirror reversal way? Or you write normally then mirror the video image? :)
Write in reversal way.
This is so mind blowing
Thanks!
Can wavelet Transform be used on RF signals for signal compression
Thank you Mr. Brunton, please, which from these four parts image good for use in face recognition ?
perfect...thanks
sir can you explain 3D image compression
I wonder if AI is getting credit when it is really wavelets/math.
