Returning to the game after a year or so away i made my first HC character in Breach and near the end of ACT 4 i found a Unique strange barrel, I like to play blind and threw caution to the wind, read the description ''Not Swarms of things'' and clicked open, after a few waves i thought, wow that's not too bad, then BOOM, 4-5 rares and a boss. That was the end of my HC char and a new lesson learned. Thanks for the fun Dismantle

I remember back when Large Chests were a thing, I found one that dropped a Geofri's Baptism for me. That then started a relentless farming of the Dread Thicket and The Catacombs in order to find more large chests. This persisted even for a little bit after large chests were removed from spawning as I did not stay up to date on patch notes, so I thought I was just getting really unlucky.
Most memorable chest was when I spent over 15 chaos to get good mods when I found the Jewellers strongbox was not the one who gives Divination Cards, ended up with a rare belt and a lot of magic rarity sh*t per 15 chaos :D
Best chest experiance was seeing a unique chest for the first time ever. it was a Perandus jewelry box and found a Inspired Learning jewel in it. oddly enough, it was just running a few runs in The Climb in act 1 merciless out of being board. lol
my most memorable strong box moment ..I was playing hc at level 79 playing super careful when i mouse clicked a little to close to a unidentified strong box and insta rip . Have not been that high in hc since.

My best chest was in a orchard map about 6 months after i started POE. I have VERY bad luck with drops, but that day I had a chest that said "all items are fully linked" didnt think i would get anything and opened it as normal.....but I got my very first 6l chest!! i was soo HYYPEEE!!
My most memorable chest event happened pretty recently: I'm trying to go for 36 points in BHC and I was playing with a bud, and a warbands chest spawned that I needed, but he opened it up by accident. Now he's stopped playing the league and it's one of the ones I'm missing!
memorable for the worst reason was cracking a unique chest and getting one shot by the Rouge it spawned 3 or 4 times but getting a 6 link queen of the forest was worth it
Definitely was during my start in Essence league. I was in Mud Flats in Cruel, I think, and found not one, but 2 unique strongboxes, one of them didn't drop anything, the other had +2 sockets and fully linked items. The dream happened, dropped 2 6L. The next day I got an offer for the 6L staff I dropped for 1ex, I was so amazed you wouldn't believe, I hadn't had an exalted before. The other 6L didn't have such an happy ending, but that was a 1ex profit anyways, and that's a ton for a newbie xD
My most memorable chest opening was a large strongbox with 30% (ish) quantity which dropped both an exalt and a divine orb which I then used to buy gear!
My most memorable chest experience was a double ghosted spider boss in the old Overgrown shrine map which was two shotting me 3 or 4 times in a row. Somehow, I managed to kite & spank it to death with some epic movement skills & distractions. Sadly, it died next to a rare unidentified strongbox. And of course, godly like I felt myself in that moment, I didn't bother using a wisdom scroll on it & just opened it ... ... ...Turns out it was a strongbox with "Revives all nearby enemies with onslaught"... ... ... And I ended up crushing my head into my computer desk #fml² -__-
I was playing my first self found league and I found my first unique strongbox ever, it was kaom's cache! and I got a kaom's heart from it, good thing I was playing a cycloner because that was a godsend.
My most memorable chest experience would be when i have opened the chase without wisdome scroll instantly killed the mobs and everything started exploding and just read that it has detonated dead :D survived the dead explosions only on 17hp and picked up 6linked sword :D
My most memorable chest experience in POE was when my GF decided to surprise me by showing up at my place and straddling me, slowly opening up her hoodie to show my that she was *ONLY* wearing a hoodie (just gave her a copy of the key new years). Of course she chose the moment I opened a breach to do this, on my highest level HC character. RIPped. Rerolled. 1000% would reroll again.
I got a double unique in a random normal strongbox, the first two my little brother and i had seen and we just kind of ran around and jumped for joy. Granted they were shit but it was very memorable.

my most memorable ones were corrupting tempest on a map with a friend with additional strongboxes and 500% increased quantitity /enraged mobs, where we pulled out 2 six links from 2 stronboxes and got super excited but they were shit so it was basically 2 divine orbs. the other one was the same sextant roll on volcano with beyonders and 50% monster pack size and i spawned 4 beyonder bosses in this map and died 4 times
okay so this one is gonna sound dumb but one of the first few chests i opened was filled with divination cards and i was so mesmerized by the blue color of the filter and the sound of the drops it was basically an orgasm for my noob self back then.
First time i played maps my friend sent me an invite even though i was a little underleveled and my first character. The chest we opened was unid' and an ex dropped (at the time i didnt know what an ex was but it was amazing to hear my friends reaction)
my best experience so far was when i opened a divine and it droped me a "the doctor" card, 12 EX in the same moment, i just link it to the gloval chat and the auction started haha. (im the guy that say " you are not the real dismantle" a few streams away)

Was playing cyclone raider and decided to try out vaal cyclone. I used it while opening a box and didn't realize it had detonate dead. I sat there piling 50+ corpses on me only to hear what sounded like a nuke going off in my earcups. R.I.P lvl 87 and R.I.P eardrums always read boxes kiddos
So one time i was play hc and I opened a chest not paying attention that it froze me so I started hitting my keyboard spamming flask then lightning warped away and got 1c form the box
no joke. i got 1 mirror in about 3 years of playing poe... i got it when perandus league has ended and i was about 1 hour playing in standard... i accidently opened a white armourers strongbox and it dropped. i felt like a boss! the first moment i thought how silly i was and then..... GG GGG
Dropped a very good 6l rare bow from my first unique chest. Ended up selling it fast for 1 ex(first ex ever), then i realised it was much better than my current bow. Sadly it was too late.

The rest of the league I was swimming in currency, I sold that thing for like 40ex because it was in the beginning of the league and there weren't that many Shav's.
i smell bullsheep... yes that could happen but i highly doubt you got 40 ex at start of league. 1st week top end items are cheap coz no one has any currency. Gratz either way but yeh you woulda got 15-20ex :)
Had i believe the Kaom's Chache. Found it on my first character, a Firestorm Witch. This was when i didnt know how to build so i have like 1.5k life in cruel and non-res capped. Got one shot about 6 times before i realized i should not sit in damage areas. Finally cleared it and got the Kaom boots.
my best strongbox so far was an arcanist with freeze, exile and revive in a double packsize duoble beyond map, ended up dying like 3 times but it payed out :) it got me an exalt and 2 divines + the exipe dropped an opieOP amulet i was able to sell for 5ex.that was a back in perandus and i was playing varunastra groundslam slayer :P
i am still pained with a lvl 95 r.i.p. It was 3 in the morning and i didnt read all of the modifiers on a shitty magic chest, so i opened it. it was explodes nearby corpses. it hurts...
A Long Time ago i Farmed dried lake and today i saw a unique strongbox i thought ( hm should i Risk my life ) ? That Happened in merciles i sucsesfuly did it and then the Legacy dropped The Reach of the Council Spine Bow Great That was a good Choice That i opened that unique strongbox :)

I was talking about "courage" with a friend, about opening boxes before identifying them, on the hardocre league. I did it with 4 or 5 boxes without any problem, and them he tried to do one time. He got freeze and insta-died.
I just got my loot filter installed for the first time ever, opened up my first diviners, thought I was rich because every divi card drop makes a huge noise with the filter, they were all worthless cards
One time me and a big group of friends were running t14s, we had like 6 people in a beyond map, needless to say one person ran into the next room and popped a box with like frost nova and extra packs(or something like that), this box killed everyone in thee party because it spawned 3 beyond bosses. Wee spent about the next 5 minutes laughing our asses off.
Rare Large strongbox, had double exile and monster stream with 1500% rarity... Forgot i was on a beyond map, accidentally tripped a Tul breach and so began the longest fight of my poor cycloner's career. ripped 3 times for 2 chromatic orbs worth of loot. #feelsbadman

I just got my loot filter installed for the first time ever, opened up my first diviners, thought I was rich because every divi card drop makes a huge noise with the filter, they were all worthless cards

One time me and a big group of friends were running t14s, we had like 6 people in a beyond map, needless to say one person ran into the next room and popped a box with like frost nova and extra packs(or something like that), this box killed everyone in thee party because it spawned 3 beyond bosses. Wee spent about the next 5 minutes laughing our asses off.

Rare Large strongbox, had double exile and monster stream with 1500% rarity... Forgot i was on a beyond map, accidentally tripped a Tul breach and so began the longest fight of my poor cycloner's career. ripped 3 times for 2 chromatic orbs worth of loot. #feelsbadman
