Thanks nick that was perfect I'm gonna try to get some better tones today on mine and gonna look into loading those ir's but your tones even the basic ones sound so good I'll let you know how I make out thanks again 👍
I noticed you had your IR levels set around -3 curious what you have your input /output levels set at. I typically keep my IRs around -10 but I think they sound better at the higher level like you are doing. Let me know if you can. Thanks!
I agree, I think the IR’s sound better at a higher level. I just checked some of my rigs and it looks like if the IR is set to 0 then my output is between -3 to -6...it does vary a little depending on the IR as some are louder than others. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@NickLaytonGuitar thanks for the response. One more question what does the output meter look like? Are you staying in the green or is it getting into yellow or red? Thanks again your videos and rigs are great!
My pleasure. My output meter is never in the red. Occasionally it might creep up to the yellow when I’m hitting hard, but I’m in the green 95% of the time.
@@NickLaytonGuitar thanks. Guess I need to do some more tweaking. Even with my IRs at -10 I have to turn down my output more than your doing to stay in the green. Thanks again!
Wow this was some excellent advice. I am new to the new Headrush and I followed all your settings and got a nice sounding tone. I also switched from stock cabs and purchased a celestion v30 ir and used it instead which helped. Mine sounds a little darker/muddier than your tone, but I’m sure that has more to do with you being a much better player than me. One question tho: the IR I purchased from celestion has a thousand options with different mics and 1x12 or 2x12 or 4x12 speaker options. But honestly they all sound the same to me. They sound good, but all the same. Do you find that when you use IRs?
Hey, thanks and glad the video has helped you find better tone. Regarding the darker sound you are getting--keep in mind that it could be that your guitar's pickups sound darker than mine. Also, yes I can usually tell the difference between the 4x12's vs. the 2x12 or 1x12, but if you don't have much experience playing through a real 4x12 cab it might not be as obvious. Lastly, although I do recommend the V30's and a 4x12 cab for heavy rock and metal tones, the mic (s) being used can have a huge effect on your tone...so if your tone is dark I'd recommend finding V30's with an SM57 for a brighter tone. Hope that helps...this is all an ongoing education for most of us :-)
Nick Layton they actually have an SM57 4x12 model and I gave it a shot. It definitely brightened it up quite a bit. I am happy with it. It sounds great. Thanks again! I’m impressed with the tones you can get out of the Headrush. The only issue I have so far is I wish they modelled a clean channel on more of these amps. I like to be be able to go from clean to dirty with a stomp and I find a lot of these amps can’t do clean at all.
Yeah, I usually create a set list with separate clean and dirty sounds...that way I can switch to clean with one stomp...but I know what you mean. Rock on 🤘
D. Ryan Buchanan you can also throw an EQ in there to reduce the bassy bottom (I’m from the school of subtractive EQ rather than boosting the hi end. You are less likely to have clipping and your board doesn’t have to “invent” tones 😂) . There’s a few great EQs, try em out!
If it takes WAV files it should work. I would like to hear your feedback on how they sound in Torpedo. Looking to see how they fare in different equipment.
Great vid. I love my Headrush gig board. My rigs i set up are really similar. So easy and you dont need a PC editor!

You make my IRs sound better than I do! Thanks for the shout out!
You make great presets, can you make some nice 80ties clean rigs?
Thanks, Check out the free clean rig I included with the Dokken ballads and Queensryche intro vids I just put out.
Great vid Nick
Thank you

@@QuikdethDeviantart Great advice, subtractive EQ is probably the best solution for taming the low end.
Great tone as always ! Would these irs work in torpedo wall of sound?
It should

If you have Facebook go join the Sonic DNA group and send me a message. May have a deal for you.
I would like to know if you have had any problems with the pedalboard. Thank you
Nope, no problems at all!
Thanks !
Nick do you use the Headrush live direct? If so-do you use the same settings when running thru your FRFR speaker or into an interface? Thanks!
I don't currently use it live, but I have in the past. I used the same settings direct and through FRFR.
Hey Nick which pack had all the Eddie IR’s?
Are you really a lefty?
Yessir I am!
I thought maybe the camera was flipping the view.
Nope, I’m legit :-)
