this is like the 600th time i have seen this XD i love it!!! if i just had 1 more wish, i would have a tasty fish! if we could change just 1 last thing, we would have learnt to sing!!!
Exuse me, there was a series made in 1981. Dummy. I have it on DVD. There's just two big problems with it. Sandra Dickinson who plays Trillian is shit. And David Dixon who plays Ford is shittier. Susan Sheridan is the real Trillian and of course there is only one Ford, that is Geoffrey McGivern. You are welcome.
I would love to see more movies made! It was so funny, and captured most of the important plot points, not that this series has major plot points in a linear fashion due to the ever complicated issue of time travel.
I you do not know the source material it is a good movie, but if you listened to the original radio show or read the books the movie is a big pile of shit
It's about the earth being destroyed and the main character gets into a spaceship and manages to escape. He finds the answer to the great question of life, universe and everything else but can't find the question itself Also a whale and a petunia's pot a are created several miles above the surfice of an alien planet and you will hear their whole life's thougts, but that's not important to the story. You may learn why the earth has been created You won't understand anything unless you watch it.
You hear lots of stories about good-mannered dolphins rescuing lost humans and bringing them back to shore, but you DON'T hear about very many cases in which dolphins push humans away from shore, drag them into dolphin rape caves, or stick them underwater. Intelligent, beautiful, but seriously dolphins, you scary.
@intermender Adams actually had very little to do with the final product, since he died long before the script finally used for the movie was completed. Some claim that a lot of the ideas were his, but it was a work in progress and even those parts attributed to him were things he wasn't satisfied with and wouldn't likely have made it to the final cut.
dolphins do kill for fun and rape and do horrible things, but so do humans. its pointless to "defend" them when we do all the same things, yet most of us do like other humans. anyway, this movie did a great job with the source material IMHO, now to see if its on netflix...
This scene was recorded in Spain, Canary Island, Tenerife, Puerto de La cruz (there is a zoo in puerto de la cruz and he name of that zoo is loro parque, you can see the name of the zoo in the minute 2:27 in the boat.
no it was baout more then that u have to watch the movie to understand what im talking about, they are just saying that they knew about the world ending an that everyone else never listened to them its a rly funny movie lol
I think it is probably more instinctual. As in, hunting for food in the open ocean is not like going to the grocery store. Hunting skills have to be maintained to insure the survival of the species.
The English accent of the man narrating got me to thinking: I would love to see some psychological and anthropological studies on the British as they were losing and after they lost their empire.
yeah, I don't think they've ever really messed this series up...i like the old british episodes though too...and now i know both the ultimate answer AND the ultimate question!
Hail Eris! I loved the books, loved the TV series, and love the movie...Eventually, I hope to hear the radio series. All four versions wildly contradict each other. Snarky
So let me guess this straight, we can praise every Dolphin as intelligent and beautiful, say something about that... and you just crossed the line. Kay.
My friends and I were singing this on the last day of school. xD
@SleepyDario what do the numbers 40 and 2 have to do with anything? Punctuation for emphasis failure.
LOL! XD
hah!

It irks me that they didnt make a series of this. The books have so muc content.
+Pwneh Once J.J. Abrams grows bored of making Star Wars movies, maybe he'll pick up The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
And then we all can see a cow serve itself as a hamburger!
I guess that mean no XD
But send it anyway
RastaPastaMeGasta there is a series

*#1: is of course.... the mice who had funded/paid for The Earth...*
love the books and the movie was great
The movie was crap
Can I just say that this song caught my entire family off guard, and we just about died laughing. I love it.
I would love to see more movies made! It was so funny, and captured most of the important plot points, not that this series has major plot points in a linear fashion due to the ever complicated issue of time travel.
Have a nice day today:)
Yay for dancing dollfins 🌊🦕
this movie is so underrated.
No it isn't. It's garbage. Youre welcome.
I you do not know the source material it is a good movie, but if you listened to the original radio show or read the books the movie is a big pile of shit
@@nicolasdziwinsky6769 correct Sir.
@@zapkvr
Bullshit, the screenplay was made by Douglas Adams, the movie is also good, it doesn't need to be the book.
i love this way too much
lol you have to love this song such a good book
There's five books. Dummy.
Best informing song ever

Every time someone rage quites from the StarCraft II forums because of their suckiness, I link this video beginning at the start of the song.
Not the movie, Douglas Adams and his "The Hitchheiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series. The movie is based on the first part of his books.
When Fufushima gets done with them the poor creatures, along with thousands of others will be gone......Beautiful to see while you can.
Dudes im 17 this movie came out when i was 10 and me and my family saw it for my 10th birthday 4/29/2004 i love this song.
TIJ Douglas Adams. Thrive in Joy. Its been 10 years of missing you. My H2G2 omnibus is going wherever I will go today.
@VAMPIRE1LADY LOL! I also watched this movie in my class. But everyone in my class laugh really hard, the teacher too. ^^
A great book by a great writer ..... and this movie was the crapyest thing i have ever wached. Read the book people!
i love how they are singin and in the song thy say how they wished they could learn to sing lmao. love this song
No
Actually, the books are based on the original BBC radio drama, which was the first Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy anything.
@Hovemond no she's not and if any actor in this film was the best part of it, it would be Martin Freeman.
Maybe if we say 42 enough, people won't notice we didn't get any of the philosophical themes in the series.
I love the fact that 5 months ago, there were 7 dislikes. Now, there are 7 dislikes. Proves how awesome this song is!
@crikeyzelasko M I C E, pandimensional, omnipotent beings who created the earth to find the question to the answer 42.
Dolphins still beautiful, fascinating and intelligent creatures.
SO: Like i give a fuck.
*flies away*
I am doing a aquatic scie project on common dolphins and i think this would be the perfect ending to it.
lol well, in the movie, the earth is about to get blown up to make room for an interstellar expressway.
by the way, dolphins are not classified as fish by the general science community... they are mammals
Ah it was ok. The book is the best, but I think every version of h2g2 is pretty cool in it's own way
there was an earlier version of this movie where they kinda figure out the question is 6 times 7
did they ever say what species was the no 1. living in Earth. Was it the mice? I can't remember.
I think its funny that this comment section is filled with comments about dolphin rape.
Unfortunately, I left Bag End in such a hurry that I forgot to bring along my wonderful Towel.
What is that even supposed to mean? They are notoriously known for their rapey ways.
Dolphins are the only animals other than humans that kill for the pure joy of it.
This movie is wonderful but the books are simply sublime. Fantastic song though
one thing that worries me. why did sam Rockwell get top billing when Martin freeman played the main character.
Sam Rockwell was a bigger name actor at the time. This was only Freeman's fifth film.
3:42 to 3:47 I really want someone to make a gif from that for deviantart lol
I wonder when the dolphins are going to lrave. They only have acouple days now
I swam with the dolphins, they are sexually aggressive and very arrogant.
I always have my towel handy...Well, so long, and thanks for all the fish..
haha
brilliant man Douglas Adams!
so long and thanks for all the fish!
Only part of the movie I didn't throw up watching, they raped the book.
@jroosa030 well, you DID keep in the title and the people like Spyglass.
Famous british humor. I love it.
Greetings from southwest Germany.
I really need to watch this movie anybody know where I can find it?
It was terrible compared to the book.
The song, however, was Good.
If dolphins are so smart, why do they get caught in fishing nets?
If they ever get around to making sequels we'll find out why.
if you se a person with a towel don't panic just remember 42
In my view this is the best end of the world song ever done.
This is the best song I've heard sung by dolphins by far. =)
Dolphins are delicious...that's why KIller Whales eat them.
Right after they enact their long-plotted revenge on Taiji
I am just now starting the books. The movie sucked I heard.
Dolphins do look like they're having fun in the water :D
I like the scene, its a memory to my holidays on teneriffa
@jroosa030 u havent been asked to take down bc its awsome
@SleepyDario isn't in that movie the meaning of life????
I got the entire series as one book.
'Tis greeeaatt! :D
Don't forget to bring a towel, and remember DON'T PANIC
simply put.
the greatest opening credits scene.
EVER.
Best part of the film. Ironic its the opening really xD
they are more intelligent GOD do u not pay attention
I just watched this yesterday. :D
BEST. MOVIE. EVER.
Yep. Huge dolphins that's pretty much what they are.
I was going to like this....but you have 42 likes...
Yea. This probably is the best part of the movie. :)
How is it that no one has made an H2G2 musical yet?
7 people just had their planets destroyed by vogons
You're right, this was the best part of the movie.
They just up and left like that at the end...BOSS.
Anything Past The 3:00 Minute mark I Was In Tears.
Seven people weren't tiny tots or pregnant women.
Glad someone finally told it like it is. Bravo!
Whats the most intellegent creature then?!?!?!
On my death bed....this shall be my final words
I want to hear Martin Freeman sing this.
Hey, the petunia's are (eventually) important!
i made somthing wierd with marvin have a look
My mother was raped by four drunk dolphins.
7 people don't know where their towels are.
The Dolphins will be leaving any day now.
This is how John coped during The Fall....
