Esa canción la oi desde chiquita todo el tiempo. Mi papi Raúl Núñez, de Guayaquil era cantante de tangos. Gardel era su modelo. Hasta su partida cantaba en la casa. Era un trovador un apasinado enamorado de la vida. Este 19 sería su cumpleaños.

It wasn't the Italians who brought the tango, it wasn't men IN HEELS etc Yes Italians are part of the culture of Argentina and tango but they weren't the first. The birth of tango was in the late colonial years of Argentina and the beginning of the first waves of migrations (coming mostly from Europe but also internal migration) so tango like Argentina itself is a mix of cultures.. afro colonial/criolla and European. Yes men initiated the tango like a dance of duels but they weren't using heels and the women were not allowed because of the strict codes of that era said that that tango was immoral for ladies. After tango become popular in Europe, France in particular, the elites took the " immoral act" of the lower classes to every salon in Argentina. That's how u get the tango that everyone around the world knows
