I tried "wing dipping" in Warthunder and it didn't work. Apparently, this makes you turn sharper because you have half of your plane in the water so you would probably just do a 180 and somehow not drown your self.
I think the airspeed is to do with the bomb physics, because you have 500+ pounds on each wing it lowers aerodynamics by creating a flatter surface for the wind to create drag on plus the added weight slows your plane down significantly. The reason the other loadouts don't slow down is because the fire bombs are just gasoline and a small explosive charge and the 800lb bomb is centred where the chasis of the plane is so it doesn't add as much surface area to create drag
Hey @niccaman, as a pilot i can tell you that in a level turn your airspeed will decrease because of the lift component that needs to be compensated for and therefor you are bleeding airspeed as a form of energy, so in conclusion, if you have better control surfaces, you can handle the aircraft better and as you said you can turn better, but for that you need more energy, (airspeed) to compensate for that increased component of lift that you created by turning more, so you are running out of energy, not a good idea xd... So yeah, get that speed upgrade to compensate for the lift component, but irrespective you will lose some speed in a turn, unless you can compensate for it by giving more throttle, if you have no more throttle to give, lay off at the bank angle, because load factor also plays a roll...

5:45 you can get behind him by dipping your wing into the water so you would lose speed and he will get ahead of you and then you will be in his 6 o'clock

And this is why the fliegerfaust was introduced because of pilots like Niccaman. Great pilot but absoutley farms everything and everyone. Great gameplay and if you ever decide to come to console, you're up for a challange. Fliegerfaust has a max damage of 90, so if your plane health is at 90 it's a one hit.
Jonathan Fend nup, but I have been killed that way before, I know the difference. My theory is that if it can hit you in a certain spot, it does more damage, making it an Insta kill

If you're really whining about air speed. You obviously never played with planes before this game. Constant turning and climbing will reduce you airspeed drastically. Especially with bombs attached to the plane.
Attaboy, glad you listened to the masses. You're very effective until you get 2-3 guys on the other team to chase you. If you get the speed uograde you lose the infantry cannons, they balanced it nicely. Now they need to make the Corsair match the lethality of the Zero. Japanese plane is 10x better.
Possible reasons for speed loss during turns with improve control surfaces are (1)the tighter turns are increasing drag on the plane causing loss of speed or (2)In real life for pilots to turn quicker they would reduce their throttle for a tighter or smaller turn radius. So maybe to emulate "improved control surfaces" i.e. tighter turns Dice made planes automatically reduce speed during a turn.
A really interesting mechanic they should introduce is if you opt for the heavy payload bombs over napalm whilst having bombs on board your airspeed and maneuverability would decrease but the moment you release your payload losing the weight you're able to turn sharper and pick up speed faster. It would make dog fights interesting it would give air play more diversity choosing to keep bombs on board for ground targets or release them as soon as they reload and focus on air to air and have that advantage. It may even work for balancing air vs infantry and would slow being harassed by bombs over and over. 🤷🏻♂️🤔
how could you think that adding 1000lb extra weight to the airplane on the wings will not effect the speed of the airplane especially when turning. i wonder if the speed becomes normal after dropping the load 🤔
i think speed does become normal after dropping it but I'm not sure because for most of this video bombs are on the airplane and I don't have the game so I'm not able to try it

Ive made a 32-2 in conquest with the zero but with high alt prop and the 4hmg the 2x 500lbs and AT mines. Really great against tanks but not infantry. The cool thing is that aicraft will stall before you when u climb and u can just turn and get all shots on target amd u kill him in one over heat. Really amazing loadout
That's the loadout right there, man. :) I also go for the same on the Corsair (albeit 2 x 500lbs), it's very helpful for your team if you manage to get the defenders' tanks destroyed (especially on Iwo Jima).
That "double-bomb-onehit-tank-KO" is too op in my oppinion. You spawn as a tank, drive for 2 seconds and die instantly by a plane. Thats whats always happens when i get a tank. Sucks
I use high altitude and do the Zero maneuver where i climb straight up until i stall. I pitch down right as i stall so the stall can speed up my 180 and i blow the other guy out of the sky while he is stalling and still cant move.
I Think the speed loss is from carrying the two 500 pound bombs brother man. especially on a typically lighter plane that is quick until you add a 1000 pounds in ammunition, drop em and the plane gains agility again !
Actually, the reduced speed is accurate. Zeros didn’t have hydraulics which means that the pilot had to manually pull or push the ruder to turn which was impossible at high speed due to air resistance. So in order to turn at all, a zero would have to slow way down.
This is the load out i run majority of the time i wished there was a way you could land change your load out in the middle of the game especially on iwo

He would suck. Have you seen his video where he spawn trapped the carriers? It was funny as hell but his accuracy with the rifle was shit. He explosived his way to kills with charges on infantry. Other than that he only shot a anti air at spawning planes on the carrier.

That loadout is fine IF you can find the tanks. In the mode you played, it works, because you know where the tanks will be, but in conquest, it's much more difficult just find the tanks. Also, I'd still be flying, but DICE broke joystick support with the Pacific planes, so no flying for me. :(

Yess Nicca!!! This is the load out I use, and yes you can get tanks on one run with this load out but it takes some precision drops from a little higher up, or you can tap the button to only drop the right bomb for damaged targets to finish them off and then make another pass with the second bomb. Instead of the full explosive rounds I chose the engine upgrade to deal with pesky pilots that harass me in the air, but now that I see how devastating those explosive rounds are I might choose that just to make it more ruthless. BTW that was me that recommended this load out to you in one of your other videos!!
I still prefer the 842 pounder, I like that with the 4x LMG’s, engine upgrade, AT mines, and improved control surfaces. The bigger bomb is more fun lol, and I just deploy 3 rows of AT mines on the same road and if a tank runs over even one I can one shot him with the bomb.
Hey Niccaman.. Nowadays are extremely OP, new AAtank against infantry. Every time I get insane score like 80-90 kills in one map. Everyone called me cheater, but DICE makes this AAtank so OP against infantry... U must try it. Let friends spot for you and shoot spoted enemy.. its insane.
The 500 pound bomb is better for Japanese but the 1000 pound bomb is equal to the American 500s, they both do a max of 80 damage to tanks if my memory serves me right. 500s are just harder to get both on target but have more damage radius

You can fly at the highest elevation then drop your flares, they’ll last much longer and you’ll get loads of squad points.

If you need to shake a plane, I've used the smoke on the mountain which has worked every time I'm able to get there.

When you got destroyed and went under the bridge actually looked like a heroic death tbh.
Pacific planes are more floaty. And keep your Manuverability spec so it helps you pull out of a dive. And tighter dogfight turns.

The white skin can take out anti airguns with 4 rockets in 1 90 degree dive and i use it for that most of the time

Have you tried the 2x 5” rockets on the AA planes? Wondering if it is better for killing tanks/infantry than the 8x rockets.
