I am amazed at the complexity of these dances and how excellent these dancers are. The women do a great job, but the men really shine in this one. Most ballets, I have seen, the women were front and center and the men had a very limited role. It was great to see the pure athleticism and amazing male dancers.

I used to do this type of dancing at a professional ballet academy and it is SO much fun. Just the purest joy, like you experienced as a kid. I always say that if we bring back community dancing (that's what this is, traditional Eastern European folklore dance) and/or singing, there would be peace on earth.

Well... I'm not sure about that, in my ballet classes the teacher told me "smile, they don't have to know that it hurt you. You must look natural and happy for the photos"
I understand they can be in pain, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy. You can see when they all lock arms and start going in the circle that there are some that are laughing because it’s a crazy, weird thing for the human body to do. That’s what I’m saying :)
But yes, I do realize this is a hard routine and it is mentally and physically exhausting. I also realize they smile to please the audience and that most of their smiles throughout are fake, however they are finding joy in it, you can see it through the “fake” when they actually do show a true emotion.
So, that goes to say, I’m not smiling at their fake smiles, but the actual joy they have when they actually show it :)
Its called acting. I don't doubt they're glad to be the few lucky ones to pursue dream career but that doesn't mean they're extatic every second of every rehearsal.

I hate that misconception of ballet as something easy and for girls only. Ballet looks easy because it’s our job to make it look that way. It is VERY difficult and way harder than spinning in a circle on your tippy toes with your arms above your head. Thank you for your comment you have my respect for recognizing ballet is NOT for the weak and that it takes actual dedication and countless hours.

Я,когда была мелкая,использовала маленькую хитрость,чтобы не болел рот. Вместо того,чтобы все выступление держать улыбку,я,как только отворачивалась к стене/спиной к зрителю ее снимала и разминала рот,а потом сразу же надевала,пххвхыххы, надеюсь никто и правда этого не замечал...
