Shrek's theme is so iconic that it just eventually became the Dreamworks Animation's intro theme

A lot like with when you wish upon a star for the Disney animation logo but the Dreamworks animation theme music was both inspired and adapted from the fairytale intro music of shrek which(according to the directors commentary)is actually Fiona’s instrumental theme while Shrek’s instrumental theme is eating alone as it uses the similar sounding melody its really amazing and cool

While this is nice, I like the 1997 version better. It's the original and nostalgic for those of us who grew up during the 90s. John Williams is simply brilliant the way he composed the classic intro of DreamWorks. Anytime you saw this intro you just knew the movie was going to be good.
