Howdy, I have Wilderness System Tsunami 125. No skeg, but very stable and very slow just like your Dagger. Looking to upgrade and look forward to watching the Tempest in action on the water. The Maine Yakker has the Tsunami 175. Also a great boat. Maybe a little more stable, not sure. More storage and a little heavier, but perhaps more stable in ocean waters. Anyways, thanks for the review.
Thanks for the video. I have a Tarpon 120 and the 12 ft Pungo. Both are great kayaks but am looking to get a touring kayak next. After this video this boat will be a contenderation! Thanks again for the review.
It looks like a Necky Chatham. A really popular kayak. But Necky is a part of Old Town Canoe. The biggest canoe maker. And Wilderness is the biggest kayak maker. The wilderness Systems hatch covers and back band fit the Necky. I figure there are 3 general classes of kayaks. River/recreational. Under 12’. Usually plastic. There are whitewater kayaks too. Which I know nothing about. Then the skeg/sea class with a lot of “rocker” where you sit much lower than the ends of the kayak giving lots of stability. That’s what gives stability. Not by being too wide. Touring/sea/racing kayaks with a rudder are mostly hard shell fiberglass & exotic materials that cost extra. Popular kayaks in each class are: Current Designs Kestrel Necky Chatham Seda Glider Epic 18X Sport I have owned all of these. All are great. And, when i wanted to sell them they sold easily. Their reputations sell them.
I'm after my first kayak and want something stable and isn't to slow ! Mainly for flat water river and calm coastal waters and the odd lake or two ! I like the look of the dagger axis and the riot kayaks ! But still not sure ! Would like some storage ! Any advice from you experts ?
Look at the Dagger Stratos. It's right at 15 feet long. Not as fast as the Tempest but it will fly and is very stable. Another one is the Tsunami by Wilderness Systems.
I have a dagger axis 12.0. I just picked it up so I haven't gotten it out on the water yet. I don't paddle a lot of flat water lakes. I mostly paddle small rivers with class I and II at most. I got the dagger to be a little faster than my first kayak (perception pescador}. I am looking forward to seeing how different the two kayaks are.
@@traviswhitworth6506 got the dagger 10.5 ! Very stable ! Can cut against tide and wind with a bit of effort ! Great when wind and tide behind u ! Tracks straight with skeg down ! No complaints so far !! 🏴
Aspire bro, aspire was my first but I fucked up. I know it's got to be this my tours of Huron, Erie, Ontario and Superior. Am I correct in this thinking?
I just can't get the seat right to wear it's comfortable for me when paddling. Always feels like I'm leaning back to far and get no support from the seat.
O encosto do Tempest é uma porcaria, não dá o apoio necessário à lombar. Precisei improvisar um sistema para deixá-lo adequado. Já me desfiz do caiaque trocando por um Fjel.
Great video. Well done!

@@InscoesAdventures do they do a ten or eleven foot one ? Lol
@@Blackcat-fw4tl anything less than 15 feet and you will be sacrificing speed. I have an 11 foot Dager. It's very stable but slow.

Hello, I can't decide on the size of this model, my height is 168 cm, weight is 60 kg, what model do you think to take 165 or 170?
Either will work for you but I would still get the 170 because it will be a bit faster.
👍🏻
