I used plain dirt and turned it into a perfect mirror-polished ball using the ancient Japanese art of Dorodango. In this video you’ll see every step from finding the right soil, shaping the core, drying it slow, then polishing the dirt ball until it looks like glass. It’s simple, weirdly satisfying, and way harder than it looks. I also used these ancient Japanese techniques to make a mirror polished aluminum foil ball, and a shiny paper ball.

The “final” clay ball isn’t the same one made on camera... it’s clearly smaller, and the technique shown is a mashup of RUclips tips done poorly. If you really polished that ball yourself, you’d show the key moment when the glossy sheen starts to appear - that’s the whole reward of the process.
Looks like you’re fine lying for clicks and money. That might pay, but it doesn’t make the work real.

As far as i learn, you should use the sand paper using the hard one and continue until the smoothest sand paper because the smooth sand paper that make stuff shiny actually

the dirt looks like it is cotton, and foil looks like a throwing ball, the paper ball look like its made for playing catch or something
I'd do it differently... First, I'd sift the soil and add plenty of water. Then I'd strain this mixture through a cotton cloth, letting all the fine dirt settle into the cloth. Then I'd let the resulting water settle for a full day. The clear water would rise to the top, easy to separate from the soil. With the soil still slightly damp, but not soaked, I'd place it in the bottom of a piece of pottery to shape the ball. In the end, the process resembles tofu-making and pottery-making, with patience and care as the key ingredients.

Просто развести глину в воде - до состояния густого молока, и дать песку осесть внизу, и использовать верхний слой без песка...
Высушивать мокрую глину в гипсовой чаше и далее на сквозняке...
И я всё это когда-то делал - увеличивал жирность глины, и далее высушивание и полировкой, это были не шары, про шары я тогда ничего не знал, и интернета тогда поблизости не было...

@GeltonLuiz226 Можно очень долго так очищать глину от самого мелкого песка, и наконец - после нескольких дней, на дне выпадает самый тонкий песок, он будет загадочного голубого цвета и при высыхании он светлеет!..

Надо это молоко из глины глубоко заморозить, чтоб быстро отделить глину от воды...
После разморозки глина будет выглядеть как чай на дне...
Всё это потом надо высушить - либо на солнце и сквозняке, либо в гипсовой чаше - чтоб быстро впитала воду...
Это всё конечно долго, но у тебя будет глина которую можно будет полировать, и смешать разные цвета глины и получить красивый рисунок...

Со временем - это может произойти быстро, а может потребоваться год или два - пять лет, высушенная глина приобретает загадочный лёгкий парфюмерный аромат - который ни с чем не спутаешь, и запомнишь на всю жизнь, и это будет воспоминанием о некоем периоде твоей жизни

regarding dorodango, the neck of a jar or some kind of polishing cup should be at least smaller than the diameter of the ball, because if it is too small, the polishing will not be even and a perfect ball will not come out, and apart from that, it's a great instructional video☺️
