- In this episode review of Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy, we take a look at the episode "X Marks the Bot", where the Recruits travel to Ireland and go on an ancient Cybertronian treasure hunt!

I love that they added the Tox en element in Rescue Bots Academy, to show more in the aligned continuity

I think Hotshot was just overly competitive with Fin due to cube. He is the best cube player and anyone else stepping on his turf will get tried. Also he is still very impulsive and impatient as we saw in this episode. I love the way he said “ow” when he fell in the hole. But my heart went to my throat when he was exposed to the toxin! I don’t understand why Hoist or Heatwave didn’t lower Fin into the hole but I did love Hotshots brave face when fin fell on him and he said” didn’t feel a thing”. So glad Hotshot made a quick recovery. This was a good episode for my nephew. Especially regarding poking into things you know nothing about. This was a exciting episode and I love to see slight references to Decepticons!
Actually I think it was to make it fair for hotshot recent episodes had whirl out of character for a few scenes which heals in the last two episodes and they probably did this cause the others are quite mean to him sometimes and he never is so it actually is only fair hotshot gets to act like that a bit.
But hotshot has always been brave I hope we see more RBA in the future. Also hotshot is an awesome bot deep down he probably never meant anything by it

This has got to be a new favorite. I love most forms of Transformers media, and this show rocks! I really hope that they introduce the Terror Twins (Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in their RID designs), you know, for self-defense or something like that.

This cartoon is definitely a spotlight in transformers history cause it's the first cartoon that ever mentioned transformers had kids and definitely will always be my favorite It has to be the cutest show out there They really worked hard on this cartoon and I just can't thank the crew or the creators enough for giving us this show I hope it's remembered for generations I just love this show so much there has never been a transformers series like this

@@thabsoffical.-8742 The old rescue bots themselves are young thanks to stasis if they didn't go into stasis maybe they would have ended up being older than bumble bee and maybe would have even joined team prime glad they were young otherwise there'd be no rescue series
Did you know that the animation studio that animated the show is in Dublin, Ireland.
I thought it was in America at first till I realized I Pete slattery the director was in Ireland
I’m so happy that this episode exists! I’m proud to be Irish & the idea if them tying Irish folklore to Cybertronian was awesome!
I’ve been to Trinity College, Dublin (countless times) & the Giant’s Causeway before and I enjoyed all of them! But I’d never heard of the tale of the witch looking out over the sea before, so that was super interesting!
And I can’t help but love the Irish-American guy, Finn’s, accent!
As for the riddles, I’m usually horrible at them, but when I heard the riddle here about the Giant’s Causeway I got it straight away, it felt really good!
Overall I really enjoyed this episode & I’m very proud of it!

I learned a lot abot Ireland to. Wish the recruits came to Canada once me and ultraprimal would show them all over the place then when the episode comes out I'll keep it as a memory I really want to meet the recruits

Well not the first. G1 Wheelie is a Cybertronian kid and his parents were mention in one of the books.

I do agree with you that Hot Shot was out of character in this episode. Maybe because he was a new guy? Either way, the writers should have thought that through and figured out a different way to portray him to fit this episode but still make sense. But I absolutely LOVED the Tox-En reference!!! Transformers Prime is my all time favorite Transformers series, so seeing the Tox-En in this series allows me to forgive Hot-Shot's character hiccup.

Victoria cooper the tox - en reminded me of my favourite show and the first transformers series I've ever watched and the best I didn't forget prime I forgot tox- en and now it can't leave my mind

Nice!!! Finally the Recruits are playing cube!!!😁 The last time some of them play is when Whirl ask Hotshot to tried to play with cube and it was adorable!!!😂
That definitely was one of the cute scenes the last two episodes had to be the best

About Whirl & Hotshot take full responsibility to save the entire live of the Earth is amazing feet,and Whirl is finally showed true with him true bound that Hasbro really wanted to!!!😄 And since she fist introduced to him with others in season 1 episode 1,all the way to finally of the season 2,she showed some love with him even if Hotshot was taken the most trouble after she's just forgetting about him... But now she has forgiven him for this & to even not allowed Scorch to join for saving the entire live of the Earth!!!🥳 It was so adorable...my friend...🥰

Very cool. Reminds me of a fanfic I wrote a long time ago set in the Rise of the Guardians movie where the heroes went to Ireland to find the Four Treasures of the Tuatha de Danann in order to use them in a fight against a fallen Irish goddess called the Morrigan.
This kind of episode reminds me of RID 2001, where they go on adventures around the world.
I hope the recruits come to Canada one day I would love to see them I could even show them around
I'm curious if we get to see original Protectobots (First Aid, Hot Spot, etc). Maybe even an episode about combiners.

I have some trivia for the 3rd to last episode of season 2. Hot shot sings the "robots in disguise" part of many transformers songs
This episode was pretty dark at the end. The early season would never show a bot almost dying. If season three existed, it would probably be dark. That doesn’t mean most episodes, but it will have dark themes.
I would love a rescue bots academy episode where it takes place in Japan. Like learn history plus don’t need to use they’re bot modes due to japan’s love giant robots.

I think the collage was the one they filmed in during revenge of the fallen or at least looks like it
Yup , this is set in Ireland because Boulder media are based in Dublin , (their studio is in Smithfield , which is about 20 minutes or so from Trinity College) .Finn is voice by Ciaran Morrison , who wrote some episodes of RBA (not this one though) .He's one half of the puppeteers/handlers of Zig and Zag who were an alien comedy duo on Irish and later UK TV. That's definitely Trinity College (the library where the Tome of Tales is , thats the same as the real life one that has the Book of Kells .It also is the basis for the Jedi Library in the Star Wars prequel films). As far as I know this is the first time a transformer has ever been shown in Ireland , and I would have bet on it happening in the comics first given that Irishman and all round good guy Nick Roche wrote for IDW transformers . Anyway if this had been on when I was a kid in Ireland back in the 80s I'd have been delighted . As it was all I got was the TMNT episode in Ireland (which was also animated in Dublin) and the rubbish episode of MASK . We do NOT talk about Captain Planet in Belfast though.
For the Canadian episode idea I'm guessing the ancient cybertronian they find would be you. Great idea.

@@tetrafuse3096 or in manga that flesh out more like the Recruits time travel into Cyberverse continuity since I'm remember when Whirl was trap in her own locker we can se her own art her seeing her alternative future self,but the future self was looking a bit more like Whirl from G1 or Cyberverse,so is the G1 or Cyberverse Whirl travel into aligned continuity when also seeing there younger self as like adopted daughter and care until needed someone help in there universe and as such it gave it's adopted younger self to "Rescue bot academy" so that she would be happy even after future self left... This could be crossover between the Cyberverse & Rescue bot academy,just like "transformers portal",do you remember this crossover that only existing in Russia, yknow... My nation only crossover,bro!!!😆

After all he is always giving whirl his pep talks always talking to her what if he did this to make whirl avoid the other bots I’m just so glad they didn’t officially ship whirl like whirl really needs to stay away from him

I want to see more episodes like this! I like the idea of the bots taking the damage to protect humans like in the original rescuebots. Bro they even gave up most of their energon to help everyone get home safely and save griffen rock. In one of these episodes I really really want one of them to get somewhat injured. I know it's a kids show, but come on! They don't really get hurt enough. They go throug lots of character development but no one in the show mentions that.

Come to think of it, the Ancient Autobot on the holographic screen looks a little similar to Hot Shot. Maybe it could've been Hot Shot's great grandfather or..perhaps Hot Shot is the descendant of the Ancient Autobot. Who knows?

Okay I can understand decepticons, but why was Hotshot being disrespectful towards the human. That doesn’t seem like Hotshot and he meant humans before. Was this an early season one episode?
4:32 why would autobots have treasure toxen but the ancients could been liege maximo, the run and was a prime, ancient human plus hot shot acted like sunstreaker.
Maybe they treasured it just so an autobot would find it. Maybe the map could only be activated by an autobot just in case a decepticon could find it at least it's in good hands now

Yeah, she's slowly getting regain her Kind-hearthed soul for Hotshot after his so many times trapped in troubles that was unexpected, missunderstanding or just downright awful for him, hoping that Whirl still have her kind-hearted soul to Hotshot for long time after the ending of the Rescue bot academy...😌

Yes. Transformers actually have many ways to reproduce such as cold construction, spark infusion, forging, budding, cloning, and others. You can read more about it on the TFwiki. And Chris McFeely actually covered it in one of his first "Transformers: The Basics" videos titled "Biology".

what is the right order then?
Yes. I was hoping Treehouse or Netflix would have added some of those episodes that I missed so I could present my reviews of them in higher quality, but it doesn't like they'll be doing that any time soon. So I'll probably end up having to grab them off Daily Motion or somewhere.
