- Im a bit late on this but for my (admittedly late) three year anniversary of playing music i wanted to retry filming a very important song to me. This was the first cover i ever posted on youtube (no longer posted) and was also a big milestone for me in my first year of playing. It's still not perfect but here's to 3 years of playing music and many more to come!

Right on! Very good rhythm, and great fingering. You've almost got it, just a couple of passages needing to be re-notated. Also, the real problem with the song is the highest note, it's actually an E natural (you probably know that already) but the nightmare about is that you MUST pre-bend the note to E natural from the last fretted note, Eb. I've taken to actually dropping the last note of the previous passage to give myself enough time to get to it. Let me know if you want to see my chart for it. Thanks for this!

@@ScottThunesOfficial scott is a great guy. Me and my wife met him at a Zappa show in 1985. He couldn't have been nicer. I have nothing but respect for Mr. Thunes, I even let him have sex with my wife that night. We are still happily together to this day. Thank you Scott.

@@dvened I'll tell you what I tell all my students: Use your ear! That's what I did. But I'll give you a hint: the hard part (the ascending bit in 5) is SUPER EASY ON GUITAR! also, there are a bunch of fairly close tutorials here on youtube. Good luck!

that makes my heart warm to hear that! I think Zappa always has a special place in fan’s hearts. This song in particular was a huge accomplishment for me when I first learned it so it’s very special to me :)

Loved that and of a man that listen to Zappa most my life it makes me happy that you like it too and performed that bass wonderfully. Very difficult runs and timing. Takes a lot of skill and rhythm to do that properly. I recorded a lot but never actually did a Zappa song yet. Great work. I am looking to do a recording of Sleep Dirt soon. Hopefully you can take a listen but for now thanks for that. Loved it

It’s definitely one of my favorites of his, it holds a spot in my heart for some reason. When I first learned it, it was fairly towards the start of me learning music so learning it was a really big feat at the time. It was my first cover ever on this channel! However one day I watched it back and realize how bad I did so I decided to redo it 😂
It's not obscure to Zappa fans. If it's obscure to some, it's probably because it's an instrumental. But the Roxy album, from which it originates, is regarded as
one of his very best and it's a classic live album.With a shit-load of overdubs.

One of my favorite tunes! I learned it after one year of playing but now looking back I used to play it so poorly haha! Hopefully I did it a bit more justice this time around
