The first time I heard this song, about a month ago, tears came out of my eyes. There are so many feelings this song conveys: the pain of loss, sadness for relatives and peaceful life, for fallen soldiers, thirst for freedom and strength. The desire to live and go your own way. But also anger and hatred towards the enemy, towards those people who think we are "brothers". I, like all Ukrainians, very often fall asleep and wake up to air raid warnings, such are our "peace-loving" neighbors. I could never imagine that this would ever happen...

I like Jinjer as well, and they made a song called "Home Back" when the war broke out in the East of Ukraine. They come from Horlivka, a town in the Eastern Ukraine, and had to flee. On 24th February, Tatiana, the vocalist, was in the US but the guys from the band were in Kyiv and there's a video from them on their channel after the beginning of the full-scale war. Recently the government allowed them to leave Ukraine to be representatives of Ukrainian music abroad and spread the message to help Ukraine.
If you like hard music, there's a music video by the band Motanka, the song is called Verba. It contains a lot of symbolism and tells about horrible historical events, crime and genocide of Ukrainians but it gives a good idea why the war that's happening right now didn't start this year or 8 years ago but it's actually hundreds of years older.

Cossacks are not mountain people, as you say in the video. Cossacks are steppe warriors. They formed in the lower reaches of the Dnieper, in the steppe zone of Ukraine, and mainly lived and acted there. With the exception of the national liberation movement under the leadership of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, when the Cossack state was formed, which covered a much larger territory of our country.

Don't expect much from Jinjer. They had concerts in Russia before the full-scale invasion (~2020) and when Ukrainian fans criticized them for planning these concerts, they told them that they don't give a sh*t what they think. They are nostalgic for the USSR, they publicly declare that the war in the east of Ukraine was a civil war, and not unleashed and supported by the Russians. Now they tour with concerts in support of Ukraine, but many Ukrainians are very skeptical of them, because they they have sh*tted in their own heads.
Yeah. Jinjer are a bunch of scumbags.

Detach is very unical Ukrainian band.Many songs on English .Very fantastic videos, charizmatic lead vocalist( Alexey Verenchik) and 👍 musicians ,but ( as for me) no good productions.This is band with big potential.

Jinjer were always more pro-russian. They're from Horlivka, city that's under russian occupation from 2014, but telling that it is civil ear, not russian- ukrainnian. They disrespect Revolution of Dignity. They were giving concerts in russia after 2014(and about 14 000 killed ukrainians) and telling that they just wan to trigger ukrainians. "Patriotism is evil" for them, it's quote. Some their relatives were in concentration camp in USSR (Gulag) but they love USSR(same is in Israel u tell that u love Third Reich). And now they just hyping on patritism(before it was evil for them), because it will give them more popularity

I think the singers-fighters are covered in mud to symbolize that they are a part of the land, and burning alive while fighting the war ALONE reflects that Ukraine is fighting this bloody war against the barbaric fascist ruSSia ALONE, and other countries help with the weapons in a drop by drop fashion in fear to anger and provoke ruSSia, while Ukraine is suffering tremendous destruction and genocide without VERY necessary mean to protect themselves. If these weapons were provided earlier and faster, then not only there would be less destruction and deaths, but the aggressor could have been stopped earlier and there would be fewer weapons needed to de-occupy territories.

Jinjer did create a masterpiece video Home back on the war, but then they toured the aggressor ruSSia and mumbled in their interviews that they didn't understand politics and THE WAR. The WAR, which actually made them refugees as they moved to Lviv and then Kyiv after their hometown Gorlivka was occupied by ruSSia in 2014!! Now they do tour in support of Ukraine, but I think that they just use this opportunity to promote themselves as now Ukraine is very popular in the world, and many great musicians supported Ukraine's heroic fight against the new fascist aggressor ruSSia and even released songs (like Pink Floyd and Ed Sheeran). Nothing was released by Jinjer after the beginning of the full-scale invasion. I have a playlist with ~60 songs (videos) that were created during the invasion: they are very different in genres and styles: heroic, lyrical satirical, and humorous, from masterpiece-level videos to lyric videos. No Jinjer in that list, and it's not surprising considering their previous interviews and their "neutral" "position", partly echoing ruSsian propaganda, that it's all a"'just an "issue" between governments, not people".

@@UNCLEMOMO he is not Ukrainian, he's from Moldova, was just doing business in Ukraine. After full scale invasion he's living somewhere in Europe, made a post in Instagram with Ukrainian flag in February and that's it, silence afterwards.
