Again, I could not agree with you more. I came out to my son and daughter when they were 7 and 5. They are now 11 and 13 and they could not love me more and show that affection and it seems that they always feel the need to protect me against the harsh criticism of my ex-wife and her family. I sat them down, I talked to them and told them how I feel inside but that I have only changed from the outside, I am still the same person on the inside.

It sure does not seem that way does it? I just watched this episode this morning on TV and the more I see it, the more it looks like a witch hunt and Dr. Phil really needs more study regarding transgender people. He talked about "sniping" and "lacking compassion" but I would get offensive too if the conversation was one sided.

Dr Phil really blew it on this one. Could their Dad handle things better? Sure. But the only thing those two children would accept is if their Dad went back to living as a man & that is the one thing Makayla was not able to do. So talking to the kids & I am sure their mothers was like talking to a wall. I am sure for Makayla it was become a woman or commit suicide. If her kids rather have a dead father than one who's a woman then they are horrible human beings.
