And then on the other hand, someone who is into the occult garbage and into dark energies, will not want to take Ayahuasca either, because they will learn that Ayahuasca eventually leads to Enlightenment. Probably my favourite song from any band, ever. No point defending Neurosis to people that don’t like them. You either ‘get’ them or you don’t, and if you do, it’s an amazing experience.
Yeah. I've been following Neurosis and Tribes of Neurot since about '94. My friends, my brother, said its weird, boring. It's clearly not for everyone. If you get it, you get it. They are there originators and the last word in Drone/ Heavy Shoe Gazer / whatever you want to call them. They defy categories.
The song "Erode" was played on a stereo system and recorded with a microphone, and the recorded audio was then played on the stereo system and recorded with the microphone. Basically "looping" the song into the microphone and out through the speakers twice. For Stones From The Sky, this was done thirty times. The way I interpret this song is like... the beginning is one's disillusionment of the content of their soul. It then becomes the progressing, evolving expression and discovering of ones soul. In fact, I fancy Soman, Sonar, Suicide Commando, Winterkälte, etc., i.e. Industrial. You won't find these on youtube anyway. The artists you listed make perfect music for excercising (I try not to listen to my favourites too often, nothing worse than getting annoyed by an awesome track when clubbing). Actually, I fully agree with you that the songs I've favourited here are most trivial. But this sounds like an amateur rock band doing a jam session in private.
This was done with all songs on A Sun That Never Sets. With Erode it was done twice, three times with The Tide, and the repititions increase with every song. With Stones From The Sky, this was done 30 times. So where can you find this? On an album called "A Resonant Sun" by Neurosis' sister-band "Tribes Of Neurot". Like Through Silver in Blood and Times of Grace and their ToN sister-albums, you're supposed to listen to the two matching albums on two separate stereo systems.

Although each persons experience on Ayahuasca is unique, there are some commonalities that show up again and again. These include:
-experiencing pure love and wisdom.

-digging up past traumas buried deep in our subconscious, bringing them to the surface and helping us face them and get over them.
-a love for all living beings (people and animals). Many people eat less meat, go vegetarian/vegan or eat more fruit and vegetable following the experience.
-giving up on the material world, many people change their field of work to one that help others rather than focusing on making money for oneself.
-realizing that we are not here to accumulate money or physical possessions, we are here to help one another, love one another and grow.
-during the experience the ego is removed, revealing your true self.
-realizing everything is energy vibrating at different frequencies.
-feeling of your pineal gland (3rd eye) being sore for a day or two after, like a muscle worked out for the first time.
-meeting other beings far more intelligent than any human and being able to telepathically communicate with them.
The truth is, All the ascended masters in every religion were Shamans, who had many direct Spiritual experiences with Sacred Entheogen Plants. Since the first religion the "Rig Veda" of India. The divine sacred Plant Entheogens are our true teachers, always have been and always will be.

Probably my favourite song from any band, ever. No point defending Neurosis to people that don’t like them. You either ‘get’ them or you don’t, and if you do, it’s an amazing experience.
Yeah. I've been following Neurosis and Tribes of Neurot since about '94. My friends, my brother, said its weird, boring. It's clearly not for everyone. If you get it, you get it. They are there originators and the last word in Drone/ Heavy Shoe Gazer / whatever you want to call them. They defy categories.
The song "Erode" was played on a stereo system and recorded with a microphone, and the recorded audio was then played on the stereo system and recorded with the microphone. Basically "looping" the song into the microphone and out through the speakers twice. For Stones From The Sky, this was done thirty times. The final result can be found on the Tribes of Neurot album "A Resonant Sun".

The way I interpret this song is like... the beginning is one's disillusionment of the content of their soul. It then becomes the progressing, evolving expression and discovering of ones soul. Finally, when the static comes in, it means that the soul has become so free and evolved that it can no longer be bound in interpretation through even the wide grasp of musical expression... it simply becomes... beyond words or anything, just an absolute... sublime entity within you

The outro is one of the greatest written. Some similarities to the last minutes of Converge's "Jane Doe" (released within a month of this album).

Me too. The music supports it. Tolling bells at the beginning signalling the impending doom, the funeral march tempo, then the build up and the distorted spazz-out breakdown of all order at the end.

The artists you listed make perfect music for excercising (I try not to listen to my favourites too often, nothing worse than getting annoyed by an awesome track when clubbing). Actually, I fully agree with you that the songs I've favourited here are most trivial.
But this sounds like an amateur rock band doing a jam session in private.

This was done with all songs on A Sun That Never Sets. With Erode it was done twice, three times with The Tide, and the repititions increase with every song. With Stones From The Sky, this was done 30 times.
So where can you find this? On an album called "A Resonant Sun" by Neurosis' sister-band "Tribes Of Neurot". Like Through Silver in Blood and Times of Grace and their ToN sister-albums, you're supposed to listen to the two matching albums on two separate stereo systems.

hey I saw them, I saw then. I still can't believe it. they didn't play this song. I saw them at Prague. Long trip to get there by plane then by train and I didn't have a place to crash after the concert, it worthed all the sacrifice... @DyingWater yes... there's something so intense about this song, that it really is beyond words. the only other song that strikes me the same way would be 'blood, milk and sky' by white zombie. it almost feels like a sacrilege to attempt to sully it with words.
