      @@nobudesign This was really helpful to me. Oh, I should have found it one year ago, when I couldn't make pattern like in your tutorial. Finally I had to draw all lines manually((

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  6 лет назад +1

      sometimes we have to do it manually first, until we think of looking for a short way to do it.
      I also had difficulty drawing a repeating line, at first I tried using a brush, until I realized that we could add more than one stroke to the line using Appearance Panel.

    I love this man!!! Amazing. Question: is there any chance that the lines can be coloured?

    • @PivotalFugur
      @PivotalFugur 3 года назад

      I’m pretty sure you could color the lines, but I think it would be easier to do it before you add everything together in the pathfinder panel. Otherwise, it would be tricky. You could direct select the individual strokes and change color or even expand everything and live-paint bucket the individual lines/spaces. I feel like everybody does it different, haha.

    After you ungroup the lines how did you delete the small sections going across the "A" in between the lines? If I delete at that point, it deletes the whole line. Thanks

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  3 года назад

      After pathfinder step (divide), try right click on your letter and ungroup

    Can someone explain to me what is actually being done here when you add two extra strokes in appearance? I'm trying to wrap my head around how this effect is achieved.

    • @budelis
      @budelis 5 лет назад

      amount of layers = how many times you can do expand with multiplying lines, more layers more gaps, vise versa , think thats about right from trying to do myself.

    I am wondering how did you know how thick the stroke is gonna be? stroke 1 : 10pt . stroke 2 : 30pt . stroke 3 :50pt
    I tried different number but that was not show perfectly...

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  6 лет назад

      You can imagine the line as rectangle with a certain width.
      Simply you can do with 1pt, 3pt, and 5pt
      Stroke 1 = 1 pt
      Stroke 2 = Stroke 1 + 1 pt (up) + 1 pt(down) = 3 pt
      Stroke 3 = Stroke 2 + 1 pt (up) + 1 pt(down) = 5 pt
      The formula is Un = 2n - 1
      n = number of stroke

    why you not make offset path?

    • @nobudesign
      @nobudesign  6 лет назад

      I know the offset path option, but I find it easier if I use the appearance option to determine the line thickness and if we make the line style as a Graph style, then we can directly apply it to several lines at once.

    Does not work with CS 6 - you can add 2 strokes in appearance, changing stroke width does nothing.

    • @jasonji3263
      @jasonji3263 5 лет назад

      Hi John, I just did the tutorial, I have cs6 and it works. I believe your issue is that perhaps you didn't set the fill to none.
