So informative! Thanks! A few questions. How large should grow out tank be? Is 10gal enough? How do you maintain the jars after separating the males? Daily water change?
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. With respect to your question on tanksize there is not one universal answer which applies to all. My own tanks are relatively small (~30L). But my spawns are divided over multiple tanks (often based on the size of the fry) in order to prevent the tanks from being too crowded. In order to get an impression of how I chance water in my Betta Territory, please have a look at the following video: ruclips.net/video/zEGMtBiRZ84/видео.html I hope this information is useful to you.
I appreciate you for making this video! I had just rescued two very young Betta fry earlier today (December 28, 2020) and was desperately trying to find the age of these two youngsters. They're both the same length (roughly 1.125"), although Dip seems slightly older than Dot. Since doing more research, I have since concluded that Dot is likely 5-6 weeks old, Dip being around 7-8 weeks old. So, again, I must thank you for sharing your experience and informative video! 😁
I have about 200 fry that hatched six days ago. I've been feeding them baby brine shrimp and Hikari first bites. So far, so good. I'm wondering what to do with them all later on..
Hey so I got a male and a female betta fish two days ago and they already laid eggs yesterday. It's first time owning fishes and I'm trying to get it right. I separated the female fish because that's what all my research said. But I don't really know where to go from here. When do I seperate the Male fish? How long do the eggs take to get to the first stage you showed? Also I got a tiny bowl for the fish because I didn't anticipate them laying eggs so when can I transfer them to a bigger tank so they can grow adequately? It would really great if you can answer me. I'm super new at this and I really want to do this right.
Congratulations on your first spawn. You can find the answers to your questions in the following article on my website: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT-Breedingmain.htm I hope this is of any help. Good luck raising your fish.
Is there such a thing as an aquarium so large or built in such a way that it can house more then one male Betta and multiple females? Not thinking about doing it just wondering because Bettas are usually in such small tanks.
Bettas are solitary animals which in their natural habitat live in shallow pools which are often poor in oxygen. It therefore is no problem to keep Bettas in smaller (nano)aquaria ranging from 2-30 liter as long as they are kept at constant temperature and provided with quality food and regular water changes. Square aquaria/jars are preferred above round bowls/jars. It is not advisable to keep a male together with one or multiple females for a longer time. Off course exceptions always exist but in general this will lead to unnecessary stress and damage due to chasing and fights. In case you want to breed Bettas it is highly recommended to prepare a seperate spawning tank and to gather all information possible in order to know what to expect and to prevent dissapointments.
I saw a large indoor pond that a person had built in his home on Reddit. He said it was 100+ gallons. It was built like a koi pond in the floor. It was planted with a lot of aquatic and semi-aquatic plants. He said he keeps two male and five female bettas. I do not know if this works out, and I'm not recommending it... but he seemed pretty experienced.
People have done it. There's a RUclipsr who has like a 75 gallon densely planted with 2 males and multiple females, but I can't quite remember her name.
Great channel and video Joep! Do you have any experience with breeding wild type bettas? When I compare my smaragdina fry with the ones in your video, my fry didnt seem to have the fase of not being able to support whole body during swimming with the swim bladder stretching.. can you share your experience?
About 35 days freeswimming now. They're different sizes, but you can already see a stretched blatter on the big ones (1- 1.5cm). They also have black horizontal stripe alrdy. The smaller ones I can see the blatter still about 25% or so. But with daily observation I never saw one fry developing but struggling to swim upright? Kept me wondering...
Thank you for leaving a comment 🙏. The fish in this video are from two spawns and that could be mixed as they have distinct colors which makes them easy to trace back from which spawn they come from. In order to promote a better grow-out fish of both spawns where housed together and divided over several grow-out tank. The fish shown in these videos are from: - BT270819A: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819A.htm - BT270819C: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819C.htm
Thank you for asking your question. The fry are raised together up to the point where the first males start to become territorial. It is therefore important to closely observe the behaviour of your fish. Personally I usually jar my fish at an age of 2,5-4 months (depending on growth rate/development and behaviour), see 4:50 min in the video. I hope this answers your question?
@@prashantpatil6013 females don't but some males will but if you want to keep a female and a male together you must have 2 females also make sure you have alot of hiding spots for the female if you have only one female the male might chase the female and it will be stressed Also you need 10 to 20 gallon tank
The mother of my fry was 7 weeks and 4 days old (53 days old) when she laid eggs for the first time. I change the water every day over 50%, and twice a day after after day 42, when I begin to distinguish between males and females.
@@acvaristicacudichisBettas already can be sexually active at a young age, but does this mean we should breed our fish at a young age? Although our fish are growing throughout their whole life most of them usually are reasonably developed around at 5-6 months of age. Certain important characteristics, both positive and negative, are not visible in young fish but only appear when a fish reaches maturity. Some examples are for instance vitality, overall balance, fin curling, ability to hold their finnage, susceptibility and resistance for disease, rosetail influence, fin curling, etc. So it is important to keep in mind that when breeding fish at a young stage, there is a risk to overlook certain important characteristics you might not want to fix in your line. Personally, I therefore prefer to breed my fish to be older than 6 months of age before I breed them.
@@BettaTerritory My objective was obtaning Betta Dumbo Long Fins having only an old Betta Dumbo male and a regular female. First step, F1, all the fry were ordinary Betta (Dumbo gene is recesive). So I needed F2 fast, because the male is old and I could not wait risking losing the male. F2 was obtained mating the original male with the most promising dauther, very young but still looking quite mature (bigger then her mother). It worked, now i have 145 juvenile Betta fry, 70 of them being full Dumbo. I may go further with F3, because now I have Betta Dumbo males and females and the old father, stil in good shape. Sometimes you have to rush things to secure the goal. 🙂
HI Sir , it is really an excellent video , when fries starts swimming freely after 3 days, what you will feed from 3 to 10 days , will the fries start eating brine shrimp from beginning itself ?
Thank you 🙏. At 1:05 min of the video the fry has entered the free swimming stage, I then feed vinegar eels and newly hatched BBS. Usually the fry will start eating BBS without problems but it also is depending on the size of the BBS and the size of the fry (don't breed your fish too young/immature).
Good day! May I ask when is the good time to remove the male betta from the eggs? The eggs is starting to show its tail on the bubble. Thank you so much!Much love from the Philippines!
New subscriber here Sir. My son is actually the one who is trying his luck on breeding bettas. First time trying to pair and luckily the eggs now are starting to show its tail.
Welcome on board Catherine & Son! Nice to hear your son is attempting to spawn his pair. Regarding your question, I personally remove the male as soon as the fry starts to swim horizontally, the so-called free-swimming stage. This usually is 2-3 days after hatching. This is also the time I start feeding the fry. More on how to spawn Bettas in this video: ruclips.net/video/yjTQB8qHrBE/видео.html I hope this information is useful to you. Have fun & good luck.
I have a question, you bred 2 mustard gas but the baby fry that comes out of it are mostly pure blue and mostly yellow, but didnt inherit the blue and yellow mixed colors from their parents, why did that happen?
I did not cross two mustard gas fish 😉. The fry featured in this video are from two spawns: - BT270819A - Yellow HMPK male x darkbody yellow HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819A.htm - BT270819C - Platinum white HMPK male x steel blue HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819C.htm Because the color of the parents of both spawns is so different it is not problem to let the fry grow up together as I can trace their heritage easily back based on their color phenotype.
@@BettaTerritory oh wait sorry i actually watched video from someone breeding two mustard gas fish before this vid and i kinda thought it was the same video xD im so stupid thanks for reminding
Hi there, love your work. Some of my fry are struggling to support their bottom half at the 3 week stage like you mentioned in the video. Is this pretty normal as the swim bladder develops towards the peduncle then? Does it generally resolve? Or is this something I should be addressing by feeding less. Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply. I think all hobbyists encounter these problems from time to time. In my opinion this problem is caused by the fact that the swimbladder is not fully stretched towards the peduncle. In young fish it is easy to watch the development of the swimbladder. In the first 3-6 weeks, the swimbladder need to stretch itself along the spine from the stomach towards the peduncle. When this does not happen, it will be impossible for the fish to swim properly and you will get a so-called belly slider. I personally do not think it is genetic but more an environmental thing related to feeding. In some cases SBD solves itself in young bettas in the first month, but when the fish gets older to my experience the chance of solving this is nearly zero. By altering the feeding regimen I think I have quite good results so far in solving this in the first few weeks. By seperating the youngsters affected with SBD at a young age and by feeding them very minimally with chopped tubifex I have gained good experiences. Yes, their growth will be a bit slower initially but in my own experience they usually will catch completely when their swimbladder has recovered (read: stretched towards the peduncle). This can take 2-3 weeks. So oberserve them closely for the coming time. In the following video you can see how I 'cut/chop' the tubifex at 1:15 min. This method also works with live or frozen blood worms: ruclips.net/video/1OEXIk7sOJE/видео.html Hope this is of any help to you. Good luck 🤞!

Depending on the growthrate, Bettas already can be spawned at 3-4 months of age. But personally I want my fish to be fully developed before I spawn. At 3-4 months most young fish look very balanced, but I also want them to be balanced throughout their entire lives. I therefore personally spawn my fish usually between 7-12 months of age. More on this here: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT-AABselectivebreeding.htm
Could you please help me?! Please In my house my brother planned to look after bettas and had some small fish so how du u look after them?(about water) What is the food that you are giving them? Please reply. I really enjoyed the growth of these fishes that's why I asked......
Hi there, love your video, I’m new to this. Today I saw my 2 beta mating and male placing the eggs on the bubbles. Should I remove the parents from the tank right away or what do I do? Help please.
Thank you! After the pair has spawned the male will chase the female away. Most breeders then remove the female and leave the male take care of the eggs and fry until they have entered the free-swimming stage (usually 2-3 days after hatching. Personally I always leave the female up to the point when the eggs start to hatch, but I would only advise to do so when there are enough spaces to hide.

Can I breed a crowntail male with a female plakat? My female is full with eggs and I read that if she does not lay them, the eggs will rot and she will die too..
It is not necesarry to breed a female when she is full of eggs. She will either release them (unfertile off course) or they will be absorbed in the body. It is important to prevent females from fattening up as this can cause them to become egg bound. With respect to mixing tailtypes this is no problem, although the offspring will likely be an in-between form which do not match any of the showstandards. This might be something to keep in mind when breeding. Hope this answer is of any help.
@@BettaTerritory thanks for replying again. I wasn't planning to breed my bettas, but I got worried after reading from some articles that the female would die if she's not allowed to breed.. So no breeding for her then, as you wrote that she will either lay them unfertilized or absorbed the eggs back.
With good care and feeding quality foods most of the fry will survive. It is impossible to say anything regarding male/female ratio per spawn. On average it will approach 50/50 when you would average results of a large number of spawns. But in individual spawns this will vary with sometimes extremes of 100% males and 100% females.
You should start feeding the fry when they have entered the free-swimming stage when the yolk-sac has been fully absorbed. Usually 2-3 days after hatching. Personally I use vinegar eels and newly hatched BBS for this.
I personally start feeding when the fish have entered the free-swimming stage and the father has been removed. This usually happens 1-2 days after hatching when the yolk-sac has been absorbed. After this I feed vinegar eels for 1-3 days with and then switch to newly hatched BBS. I feed two times a day (morning and evening). I hope this is of any help to you. Good luck!
I usually change 40-60% water every 2-3 days. I hope these videos are useful to you: - ruclips.net/video/zEGMtBiRZ84/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/qgFW-XiIS6w/видео.html
But how to change water, as the baby fry are so small, i have the same problem in my city live food or brine shrimp is not available, I used to give baby's crushed hikari & blood worms. Still thay look like 4-5 day old as how today they are the age of 34 days. Plz do reply
This is really a good video. I just started having bettas as my pet fish. Currently I have two. Both are males (jack and red). I would like to know how often should i change their water? As of now, i am doing it once a week. Is that okay?
Thank you Vanessa 🙏. Nice to hear you have two Bettas youself. How often you should change their water is also depending on the way you keep them (housing and feeding frequency). Personally keep my individually housed fish in bare 2.5-3L jars on a constant temperature (some are in a drip system). Here I siphon the bottom and change 40-60% of the water every 2-4 days. Can you tell me a bit more about how they are housed and how often and what you are feeding them?
Betta Territory my first betta is in a 2.5 gallon tank and the 2nd one is in a 5 gallons. Both tanks have aquaplants in the hope to make them happy. I feed them atleast once or twice a day. I use the maxflo pellet in the morning like 6 to 8 pcs then late after noon i would give them tubifex worm (freeze dried).. For the water, i use tap water 💦 and then i would drop some methylene blue (drops would be according to their tank size) and then i always make sure they have talisay dried leave.
This will depend on the growth and the behaviour of the fish. Personally I prefer to jar my fish as big as possible but off course you will have to keep an eye on their behaviour. When a male becomes too dominant it is time to jar. I jarred the first fish from the fry in this video around 3 months of age (see the section at 4:50 of the video).
Personally I have no experience with feeding this, but some breeders indeed use egg yolk in the first days. Overfeeding can polute the tank very fast so be careful with this.
Yes, the males will start to show territorial behaviour when they mature and need to be kept individually in order to prevent unnecessary stress and damage and to promote a good health & development.
The fish in this video are steel blue. When the head is not colored they are referred to as 'black head' when the head is also (partially) colored steel blue they are referred to as 'mask'. I hope this answers your question?
It is no problem to feed infusoria for the first days (like I use vinegar eels in the video) after the fry has absorbed the yolksac and entered the free-swimming days. But I would advise to feed newly hatched BBS after that to provide more nutrition.

There are many different Betta species. These can not all be interbred. The species within the Betta splendens complex (Betta splendens, imbellis, mahachaiensis, smaragdina and stiktos) can be interbred although not all crosses will result in viable offspring. Domesticated Betta splendens or showbettas exist in many different color- and finnagevariations. These can be mixed although responsible breeders only do these crosses with a certain goal (improvement of color/form and/or the development of a new variation). I hope this answers your question a bit?
Yours look a lot bigger than mine but mine are on track on the size chart. They are around 1.9cm from head to dorsal fin. Is that alright. When should I start jarring?
Observation of their behaviour is the key in my opinion. The males can be recognized by their slightly longer finnage, fuller ventrals, their bodyshape, and bigger beard (gills). When their behaviour becomes more dominant/aggressive and they start flaring at other males in the tank it usually is time to jar the first males in order to prevent damage and to stimulate a good development of the fish. I hope this is of any help?
After the yolk sac is absorbed and they enter the free swimming stage (2-3 days after hatching), they can stay on the bottom sometimes. Usually they will start exploring the tank more and more. Feeding live food like for example newly hatched BBS will also promote this.
Hi,what a great content Also, what is the breed of their parent? Because some of your spawns are yellow solid and coopper. Are their parent different? Thank you

I personally jar the first males around 3-4 months of age, but this differs from spawn to spawn and breeder to breeder. This mainly depends on how quick your fish are developing as I mention in the video also.
Awesome video, honestly one of the best I have seen so far. Have few Q - how often do you feed your fry? Some do it 3 times a day - some every 3 hrs. Second - in video on water change I saw that your younger fry does not have air filter - at what stage do you put in the tank? And last - have you used grindal worm to feed your fry? I just been using it and it works great for me because I take worms and and add cup of water to them and then rise it with through same sieve as for vinegar eels and get tiny grindal worm ,so even the smallest fry can eat it and worms live up to 4 days in the water. really hope to hear what you think and hope to see more videos on raising fry
Thank you for your taking the time to leave a comment. In general I feed by fish usually two times a day (morning and evening). @@BettaTerritory thank you! Follow up on it - what about air ? Do you use air stone at any point? And what about light? How long is fry has lights? Read studies that light 24-7 helps fish to grow faster and stronger
This will depend on your location and equipment. Personally I located in the Netherlands (Europe) with warm summers but cold winters. I am breeding in an insulated shed in my garden where all tanks have heaters & covers to maintain a stable temperature (to prevent fluctuations). This means I can breed througout the year.
Sir where to find infusoria cause my fry don't grow they are no 3 weeks old and there sizes is like 3 day old fry plss help me cause I'm just a biggener

Two days after hatching, Betta fry usually has just entered the free-swimming stage. Whether they can eat BBS at this stage usually is depending on the size of the fry (genetics) and the size of the newly hatched BBS (brand/origin). I have done this in the past without any problems. Good luck.
I add a small airdriven sponge filter when the fry are 4-5 weeks of age. My bigger grow-out tanks have airdriven filtermats as filter as you an see here: ruclips.net/video/w2SjJrkHjac/видео.html
When I house fish individually this is either in my dripsystem, which has a central filtration system, or on jars on shelves which do not have a filter. In both cases 40-60% of the water is changed by manually siphoning each individual jar every 2-4 days as shown here: ruclips.net/video/zEGMtBiRZ84/видео.html
Nice video! My friend is breeding bettas but in their first days a lot of them (like 10 from 15) dies. But he don’t know why. Do you have any idea why this happens?
This depends on the room tempetaturr and how constant the temperature is in the tank. Personally I am located in the Netherlands and always add a heater in order to prevent large fluctuations in temperature (day/night, but also seasonal).
Joep, I think someone asked how much light fry need every day but I can't find your answer now. Please answer the question again. Thank you for posting another excellent video. Sincerely 👏

In the beginning of the video the fry indeed are eating newly hatched baby brine shrimp (BBS; artemia). In the title pages per stage I have indicated what food I am feeding my fish. I hope this anwers your question :D. Thank you for watching.
@@midhun4213 If you're still wondering, I believe as long as the fish eat you have to change the water. Rotting food at the bottom of the tank, or waste will cause ammonia spikes if it's not cleaned and the water changed.
This is one of the many aspects to think about before you start breeding. Most hobbyists give/sell fish to other hobbyists and aquariumstores and/or cull.

Betta Imbellis (Peaceful Betta) can be kept in groups.
I don’t think u can
People have done it. There's a RUclipsr who has like a 75 gallon densely planted with 2 males and multiple females, but I can't quite remember her name.
Cute you can tell that they love your attention.
I watch this every day just for my fish growth!
Great channel and video Joep!
Do you have any experience with breeding wild type bettas?
When I compare my smaragdina fry with the ones in your video, my fry didnt seem to have the fase of not being able to support whole body during swimming with the swim bladder stretching.. can you share your experience?
@vredeling Thank you for your support 🙏.
How old are your fry at the moment?
About 35 days freeswimming now. They're different sizes, but you can already see a stretched blatter on the big ones (1- 1.5cm). They also have black horizontal stripe alrdy.
The smaller ones I can see the blatter still about 25% or so. But with daily observation I never saw one fry developing but struggling to swim upright? Kept me wondering...
Waow!!! Beautiful!!! Who was the parents of the frys? Do you have a vidéo of them!😊 Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for leaving a comment 🙏.
The fish in this video are from two spawns and that could be mixed as they have distinct colors which makes them easy to trace back from which spawn they come from. In order to promote a better grow-out fish of both spawns where housed together and divided over several grow-out tank.
The fish shown in these videos are from:
- BT270819A: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819A.htm
- BT270819C: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819C.htm
Don’t mind me being confused... if they’re all raised together do they not fight? When do they start fighting?
Thank you for asking your question. The fry are raised together up to the point where the first males start to become territorial. It is therefore important to closely observe the behaviour of your fish. Personally I usually jar my fish at an age of 2,5-4 months (depending on growth rate/development and behaviour), see 4:50 min in the video. I hope this answers your question?
@@BettaTerritory I have a question too do males and females fight with each other too?
@@prashantpatil6013 females don't but some males will but if you want to keep a female and a male together you must have 2 females also make sure you have alot of hiding spots for the female if you have only one female the male might chase the female and it will be stressed
Also you need 10 to 20 gallon tank
The mother of my fry was 7 weeks and 4 days old (53 days old) when she laid eggs for the first time. I change the water every day over 50%, and twice a day after after day 42, when I begin to distinguish between males and females.

2:05 how old this one? What food you give to them? (in this clip )
These fry are 19 days old and are being fed with newly hatched BBS (all the information is at the titlesheet of this stage at 1:50 min 😉).
Can i give 24 hours BBS for 3 days old frys?
What if I put 2 baby male bettas in one , would they fight when they grew up?
Yes
This is what ive been waiting for... A video like this!!!
Gorge tops nice to read your enthousiastic reaction, thank you 🙏.
I have a question, you bred 2 mustard gas but the baby fry that comes out of it are mostly pure blue and mostly yellow, but didnt inherit the blue and yellow mixed colors from their parents, why did that happen?
I did not cross two mustard gas fish 😉. The fry featured in this video are from two spawns:
- BT270819A - Yellow HMPK male x darkbody yellow HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819A.htm
- BT270819C - Platinum white HMPK male x steel blue HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819C.htm
Because the color of the parents of both spawns is so different it is not problem to let the fry grow up together as I can trace their heritage easily back based on their color phenotype.

This method also works with live or frozen blood worms:

Depending on the growthrate, Bettas already can be spawned at 3-4 months of age. But personally I want my fish to be fully developed before I spawn.

What is the average number of fry, die off to expect and males to female ratio? Great video
With good care and feeding quality foods most of the fry will survive. It is impossible to say anything regarding male/female ratio per spawn. On average it will approach 50/50 when you would average results of a large number of spawns. But in individual spawns this will vary with sometimes extremes of 100% males and 100% females.
Is Eggyolk Good for fry bettas?
At what age or size should you start to jar bettas
Thank you for asking your question. The fry are raised together up to the point where the first males start to become territorial. Personally I usually jar my fish at an age of 2,5-4 months (depending on growth rate/development and behaviour), see 4:50 min in the video. I hope this answers your question?
When to start feeding frys??
You should start feeding the fry when they have entered the free-swimming stage when the yolk-sac has been fully absorbed. Usually 2-3 days after hatching. Personally I use vinegar eels and newly hatched BBS for this.
Sir, can a juvenile betta grow as big as normal betta size or adult size? Newbie
Normally yes but this also depends on genetics and care (read: temperature, food quality & frequency, waterquality and frequency of waterchanges).

How often should I feed baby bettas from 1-3 days old?

After this I feed vinegar eels for 1-3 days with and then switch to newly hatched BBS. I feed two times a day (morning and evening). I hope this is of any help to you. Good luck!

Can you jar them up at 2 months age???
This will depend on the growth and the behaviour of the fish. Personally I prefer to jar my fish as big as possible but off course you will have to keep an eye on their behaviour. When a male becomes too dominant it is time to jar. I jarred the first fish from the fry in this video around 3 months of age (see the section at 4:50 of the video).
Betta Territory okay I really rally appreciate it I just Jared mine and hopefully come out
I just saw another video about a person feeding the fry with eggyolk+water. In ur opinion is it good sir?I dont hv any brtta fry food noe with me☹

@@BettaTerritory okay,thank u for ur advice sir👍🤩
Will these fish that have grown together fight with each other??
Yes, the males will start to show territorial behaviour when they mature and need to be kept individually in order to prevent unnecessary stress and damage and to promote a good health & development.
How many times to feed per day say at 12.29 weeks old?
I personally feed my fish two times per day.

Why does my betta fries stay at the bottom of the container even though they are already 3 day old? Pls notice me
This can vary a bit from spawn to spawn. They are probably looking for food. What are you feeding them?
can i feed infusoria for first few two weeks?
It is no problem to feed infusoria for the first days (like I use vinegar eels in the video) after the fry has absorbed the yolksac and entered the free-swimming days. But I would advise to feed newly hatched BBS after that to provide more nutrition.

Can u mix breed different type of Betta??
@@BettaTerritory is 1.9cm a good size for 50 days old.
Is it normal that my betta fry are in the bottom of the tank? They are still in there 4th day
After the yolk sac is absorbed and they enter the free swimming stage (2-3 days after hatching), they can stay on the bottom sometimes. Usually they will start exploring the tank more and more. Feeding live food like for example newly hatched BBS will also promote this.

I mean the Mortality rate?
With good care (e.g. quality water, frequent water changes, quality food and a constant temperature) the majority of a spawn will survive.
Is it okay if I feed them brine at 2 days after hatching

I hope this anwers your question?
Nice video! My friend is breeding bettas but in their first days a lot of them (like 10 from 15) dies. But he don’t know why. Do you have any idea why this happens?
What is your friend feeding the fry? Further is the tank heated (what temperature) and is the tank covered?
@@BettaTerritory yes, tank is covered and temperature is about 25 Celsius but I am not sure what is he feeding them with. I will ask him tomorrow!
How come mine don't have swim bladder problems
Should we add heater
This depends on the room tempetaturr and how constant the temperature is in the tank. Personally I am located in the Netherlands and always add a heater in order to prevent large fluctuations in temperature (day/night, but also seasonal).
Do you get then together or u separate them? If so when the time to separate them?🤔
Joep, I think someone asked how much light fry need every day but I can't find your answer now.
Please answer the question again.
Thank you for posting another excellent video. Sincerely 👏
The lights in my fishroom are on from 7-10h and 18-23:30h.
@@BettaTerritory Thanks Joep
Very valuable video. I love this. Thank. And your camera focus very good.
Thank you for your support 🙏.
My first batch of fries has delayed growth but now I monitored them and I see them grow everyday also I have a second batch Wich is 2 weeks old and this is the exiting part because I know all the steps for them to take care of them

Thank you for this video! It helped me a lot with my Betta fry :)
Happy to hear that, thank you 🙏.
results?
I breeded alien wild male with hmpk copper female... Could you pls guess the result for me.. Very eager to see the result
It is normal that male betta eating there own fry? At 1 to 2 days old?
What's they're eating? Is that artemia
In the beginning of the video the fry indeed are eating newly hatched baby brine shrimp (BBS; artemia). In the title pages per stage I have indicated what food I am feeding my fish. I hope this anwers your question :D. Thank you for watching.
@@BettaTerritory Thanks a lot.. Dude one more question. During that fry development days do you changed water? My main problem is that.
@@midhun4213 If you're still wondering, I believe as long as the fish eat you have to change the water. Rotting food at the bottom of the tank, or waste will cause ammonia spikes if it's not cleaned and the water changed.
is egg yolk good for betta fry
Will they fight each other??
At 3-4 months of age I usually seperate the males in order to prevent fighting and unnecessary stress & damage.
Ohh ok thx
@@BettaTerritory how do we need to seperate ? males and females also fighting when we put them in a tank (one couple)?
how many betta fish can I keep on a 4 gallon tank?
none, a betta needs at least 10g to thrive happily.
@@emilymcclour8501 ty for telling
What am I supposed to do with all the new fish?
This is one of the many aspects to think about before you start breeding. Most hobbyists give/sell fish to other hobbyists and aquariumstores and/or cull.
If you overfeed them will they developed swimbladder disease? I saw a few of your bettas in this video with swinbladder problem. How you managed to fix that problem?
Water change and clean water will help. Feeding too much bbs develope swim bladder disease
WHAT KIND OF BETTAS ARE THOSE?
The fry featured in this video are from two spawns:
- BT270819A - Yellow HMPK male x darkbody yellow HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819A.htm
- BT270819C - Platinum white HMPK male x steel blue HMPK female: www.bettaterritory.nl/BT270819C.htm
Awesome video. Our fry is on the 3rd day.
Thank you 🙏. Congratulations with your spawn. Do you already have some food ready when they enter the free-swimming stage?
