I found one bottle sitting on a shelf at my friendly local spirits shop, and bought it as a I like double oaked and triple oaked bourbon. Angel's Envy has not been part of my rotation for a while now, but I am looking forward to popping the cork on it after watching your video.
Thank you both for the video 🥃 I've had this before & I like Angel's Envy but I only truly like 6 other Bourbons brands anyway. I'm always trying new ones but I can never find another that I do like other than the Bourbons I do enjoy already.
Speaking of "triple oaked", ever think of doing your own, starting with your favorite affordable bourbon? Take any kind of oak you want, firewood or even branches from your or neighbor's tree trimming can work, as each gives a slightly different flavor. Cut the oak into thin strips and oven-dry them for about 20 to 25 minutes at 340F. I like to use 1/4 inch strips about 2 to 3 inches long. Drop about one ounce (25 to 30 grams) into a clean bottle and add the whiskey. Charring first with a butane flame also works. Invert the bottle occasionally for 4 or 5 weeks then filter and enjoy. I've been doing it several years now, always an interesting experiment!
I was excited to run into this at the KY Bourbon Festival; it was delicious and resulted in me bringing one home. Excellent bourbon at a fair price, IMO. Thanks for the entertaining and informative review!
Have yall thought about giving a rating when doing the reviews? Could just be a range, but sometimes it’s just not clear if you enjoy it how much you enjoy it.
$75 seems steep when u can get something like rare breed for $60 that's also a 116 proof. Also pikesville rye which is a 110 proof for only $45. Angels envy need to adjust thier pricing a little.
Interesting, I like Angels Envy but wouldn't be even my 10th choice. My guess is that the tripple oak would up it's apeal from what I call a designer bourbon to somthing a little more down to earth.
I don't know! I'm hoping mine opens up more but, so far the worst bourbon I've tasted this year. Heavy on the musty side, the sweet isnt a good sweet, I agree its viscous and the aroma is great. I was really hoping for better so, maybe that made it more of a disappointment.
The "Triple Oak" name here is a bit confusing to the average consumer. This is a blend of 3 different "Double Oaks". A true Triple Oak, which there have been a few on the market would be the same bourbon 3x finished. Think its' worth pointing out as new bourbon finishing offerings pop up every day.
Picked this up at KYBF and am very glad I did. Angel's Envy got it right.... especially at its low price point.

“So they aren’t living in sin” - that made me literally lol. Glad to hear this is good as I’ve been waiting for it to drop. Cheers 🎉
:)
I thoroughly enjoyed my bottle, they waited quite a while before releasing something new and I think they nailed it.
Sarah that reaction to living in sin was perfect😂
Really enjoy these quick reviews!
Thank ya!

Have you tried the Angels Envy Sherry Cask Finish? Found a store pick at 116 proof that was so dark and rich. Insanely good!
Very nice. I might stop by the distillery today to pick one up.
You should! It’s fantastic and will be available nationwide October 1st!
Since it starts in new American oak --- doesn't that make it Quad Oaked?

My guy had it for $55 so it’s a no brainer. It’s far better than their flagship bourbon
Agreed!
I wonder how it compares to the Joseph Magnus Triple Cask.
Interesting!
