- Having explored the delights of Trabzon , the Primemutton turned his attention to exploring the delights of South Eastern Turkey.
The one City that stood out as a sore thumb when planning the trip was Gaziantep, a City with such a reputation for great food (especially kebabs).
Did Gaziantep live up to the hype? Was it a good city to visit?
Join Mutton as he wanders around Gaziantep and puts it's food to the test.

When I decided to go to visit Gaziantep, I was told that people from Istanbul would travel by air and return the same day or go for a short weekend just for the food . Does the food make it worth a visit ?
It sure does , hands down the best kebabs of the places in Turkey that I’ve been lucky enough to visit!
😮
Really enjoyed this video Mutton. Found the lahmacun segment particularly interesting as it is a dish, that in the UK is one of my favourite items from a kebab shop. Typically, in parts of London at least known for Turkish communities and food, it is often accompanied/ filled with a typical turkish style sumac mixed salad and was just wondering if you saw any of that in Gaziantep, or if it is merely an English twist on the Turkish classic? Another favourite of mine is the Imam Bayildi, and was again wondering what your experiences were with the dish in different parts of Turikye? Great video
I did see salad with sumac and I did go somewhere in Gaziantep where they served it that way , might have been in my Daily Kebab series. As for Imam Bayildi I love it but massively prefer it served cold.
@@primemutton ah thanks for the insight. I think I too prefer Imam Bayildi cold, was actually considering having a go at making it this week. Have always wanted to go to Turkiye though and your vlogs make me want to go even more!
Brilliant observations
I really enjoyed this food journey, kebabs just look great!
The coffee segment reminded me of a hilarious moment my friends and I had on holiday in Cyprus. Ordered coffee and as you describe, espresso sized cups of mud were served. We all ended up in this fit of giggles as we had never seen it before and were crying with laughter. I'm sure the patron was thinking we were high or something but it was our sheer ignorance as youngsters back then that probably added to the silliness of it all. Great video my man.
Great Vlog
What was your favorite food you had during your time in Turkey..? Enjoy your content. Been watching some of your older videos today.
Iskender kebab
Amazing..would love to go
Awesome video and appreciate the content. Was this video filmed before or after the Feb 2023 earthquake in the region? Debating if we should plan our trip there or not… depending on the city rebuild.
Was filmed December 2022, fantastic city to visit but not sure whether everything is back to normal
Noice. Loved the video, I lived there for 7 years. Still the best food there is Gözleme, that you didn't try, maybe bec. it's too simple. :)
Still waiting for your Hungarian trip, mate.
might take a while but will go to Hungary
Sweets meats tea and coffee
Ne mange pas trop, tu risques de grossir. C'est tellement bon que des fois on s'oublie. Bon appétit et bon séjour.
