I love the D18 but I always wondered why they don’t extend mahogany up the series like they do with rosewood. I was on the Martin custom designer once and I basically had a D35 with sinker mahogany instead of rosewood. I added an Adirondack top and hide glue, but it was like $7k and I couldn’t do it. I still want that guitar though.
When it comes to dreads, I like mahogany. Small guitars, short scale, etc, Rosewood is it for me. Although I really want a 1965 D28. They sound amazing. Strait braced but aged from all the years od playing.
@@G_Demolishedust canceled a custom sinker I was having made with hide glue. Ended up being 6k. That's with ebony wood binding, long 1930s bridge glued saddle, gloss head stock, angled nut, zircote headstock, stamp on back od headstock, ge bracing etc. Was going to be a monster and still only 6k. So you can definitely keep them around 6 and even under, with a ton of features. If you find the right dealer But I hurt my shoulder and I'm not sure if I can play dreads anymore so I couldn't take the chance and had to cancel. I was able to pick my wood and everything. So it was definitely disappointing. But maybe it's meant to be. I felt terrible and gave the dealer 700 for canceling I have my 000-28 Custom Authentic 1937 that I'm in love with anyway for now. Which is perfect with my shoulder. And honestly it's one of the best new Martins I've ever heard, along with a d18 authentic.
It's taken me years to appreciate the D18 over the D28, D35 etc
Same.

I own a d18 and a d28. I prefer my d18. Amazing guitar. ❤
Sounds amazing
마틴 18 시리즈 뒤에 뭐 붙은게 왜 이렇게 좋은지 모르겠네요 ㅎㅎ
