Just as a fun fact! - water can feel like concrete when falling from a high point (if not in the correct diving pose), the water molecules doesn't move away fast enough once you hit the surface.
Because water specifically has strong ass surface tension for a liquid. Funny enough if you've ever seen those experiments where they make regular beach sand behave like a fluid by pumping air beneath it, the same trick works with water making it more survivable at higher heights, think some of the world's highest diving pools have that ability. I always assumed Caz survived because of the stuff that was taking over his body, mythbusters busted the idea that you can use an object dropped before you to break the surface tension long enough for you to land safe.
Watching this made me realise Berlin really don’t be paying attention to the lore😭 he wasn’t dead the whole time, he was genuinely trying to escape and at the end of the game when he sacrifices himself to kill the alien he was having flashbacks to when he proposed, when they had their first kid, etc. and when he wakes up and says “I’ll be back for Christmas” its when he first left and that’s why we see the merry Christmas card at the beginning of the game.
SPOILERS!!! the last monologue from the wife was sent during/after this incident on the rig, so he never got that letter but she also didnt at the moment realized what happened to all of them.
So Berlin, the guy who was in the tank couldn’t get out immediately because he had to decompress first so gas bubbles wouldn’t form in his blood stream or body. This could make him sick or even kill him. That’s explain why the guy was stalling to let him out immediately.
Depending on how far down he was already decompression can instantly boil his blood, or the pressure differential could suck him out faster than a bullet through whatever crack formed from opening the door, a whole human body can fit through a hole centimeters wide. The bends can actually only be the third most dangerous thing if it's a deep saturation dive, that's nothing to joke around with.
Wow! This game was absolutely stunning! The storyline, the plot, the ending. *spoilers* - - - - - - - - The end really shows a man wanting to fight so hard to keep his promise and make it back to his family. But in the end, he realizes the best thing he can do for his family is to keep this ship at sea and to make sure they’re safe from this sickness. Each one of his crew mates he has so much humanity for as he reacted to them and truly grieved. You could see his crewmen’s final moments as they convinced themselves they’re going home even in their monstrous form. You could see him begging for Roy to live and go through each emotion and even hear it in the voice actors voice. The more he went through his journey the more he thought about how he ended things off with his wife and it truly pushed him to want to make it home. Even as these crewmen were passing on they still wanted to get the job done because of how stressful work conditions were…this game was beautiful. The plot, the visuals, the character relations. I haven’t had a game truly impact me like this in so long. It’s a slow burn honestly but it’s so worth it.

What really makes it terrifying is the sound design and voice acting, you don't even have to wear headphones to get the full gyst of it. if they made this in VR it would be 10x more terrifying. (EDIT: watched it to the end and im crying yall. they need to make a movie of this, RIP Roy and the other homies. 10/10 gameplay. the most beautiful one i've seen in a long minute)

i feel like the pacing is off, things kicked off very quickly, all of the sudden one of your crew members is on the ridge, he falls off, then you fall off, and just get rescued just fine? (you're not surviving that fall) and then when u get back to conciousness everything is fucked but,,, no one seems to really be worried or care? and then theres immediately monsters everywhere and things generally just happen too quickly for the "suspense" to work, i dont think berlin rushing through the game helped with much of that doe lmfao, and the main character is barely faced at all by the actual insane things happening, cool setting and good voice acting but yea, i dont see anyone mentioning this negative part? ohh also, the weird flesh artifact being on the drill i feel like is shown too quickly, no one else there noticed that???? the monster movement doe? especially muir, is crazy good, so all over the place but still precise and very cool to see in a game

It took me 3 days to finish this but it was totally worth it! If you wouldn't have said this was an indie game I definitely would have thought it was triple A. It's crazy cuz I was hoping for a happy ending this whole time where he goes back to his family to tell the story, but when Finley was like "what if this creature reaches the mainland" I just knew it was over 😭 I hope more ppl play this and it ends up at the Game Awards this winter. 🎉

It took me 3 days to finish this but it was totally worth it! If you wouldn't have said this was an indie game I definitely would have thought it was triple A.
It's crazy cuz I was hoping for a happy ending this whole time where he goes back to his family to tell the story, but when Finley was like "what if this creature reaches the mainland" I just knew it was over 😭 I hope more ppl play this and it ends up at the Game Awards this winter. 🎉
