  • What happens when a child is exposed to the arts? This past year, we invited 4th Generation Navajo Artist, Melissa Cody to South Central Los Angeles to find out...
Thanks to an award through the National Endowment for the Arts, with matched support from the Peck Foundation - we learned the intricate craft of traditional Navajo weaving with some curious, creative students from Century Park Elementary School in Inglewood, CA.
Over x6 months, we explored art, culture, and used studio-grade materials to realize a collaborative student artwork centered around the idea of “our tribe.”
Arts education not only improves learning outcomes. It brings us closer together. For these students lacking any visual arts programming, it is a creative lifeline.
We believe in the transformative power of art. ♡
For nearly 10 years, we've worked with hundreds of career artists, curators, and creatives - committing to our youth, families, and communities in need.
As we hope to expand to Los Angles and beyond - learn more about who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved by visiting: www.widerainbow.org
Special Thanks to Zoe Chait, Videographer and Jefferson Everest Crawford, Editor ☆彡
