  • Not my normal camping video. but this is a collection of photos I took in 2002 of the tragic destruction in Morgan county Indiana, taken on September 20th, 2002, and the days that followed. By the grace of God there where no fatalities but many people lost all they had that day. Postted on the 20th anniversary of these events.

I was working full time at WCBK in Martinsville at 102.3 FM for the late Dave Keister the storm came through at about 1PM that afternoon so glad that no one died and that I was safe!

Was my last full day of vacation visiting friends there. Had lunch at Sgt Peppers Chicken and went to the Big K for a couple things. We were going to Bloomington after that. Didn't make it due to the tornado. Saw all the devastation on my way home on SR 37. WCBK did an awesome job of keeping everyone informed of the latest developments. You all should have been proud of yourselves that day.

i was there.. direct hit. tornado's don't care about your ego.. for some reason this is always a factor when one comes and tries to take you away. When we were gathered into an office full of windows overlooking the entire plant. people were clowning around and being mockful saying " oooo we are going to get hit by a tornado ooooo" and laughin.. Those same people were under the desk crying and praying for forgiveness when it took our dock doors and roof off.

I remember this tornado. I was in kindergarten and went to school at St Barnabas. I remember all of us going into shelter in the bathrooms and being there for what felt like an eternity. Horrifying to look back on. So thankful no fatalities
