I grew up watching Corey Pavin and he is a tremendous shot maker and proves the greatness of golf. He's got as many majors as Couples who was long in their era.

Some great strategy tips from Corey who certainly got the most out of his game in his prime.

Boy pavin could play....followed him for 36 holes at lytham st Anne's in 96, just a brilliant shot maker and a delight to watch. Shows that you can hit the ball not very far and win the biggest things in the sport

Sometimes all you have to do is it play it safe! When everyone else is being gutsy and failing, the safe play wins!

I think all of us normal sized amateurs can take a dose of a 145 yd 7-iron being the right club with normal lofts. Let Dustin Johnson hit the gap wedge from there, and even he can't get it any closer than Corey did. Thanks for posting.

Thats what makes some of the golfers from the 80s and 90s my favourites. Corey Pavin and Tom Kite hit there 5 irons 190 yards and could still win a major!!

Corey's swing doesn't have a lot of body in it but u can see exactly how the right elbow needs to come down in front of the body close to the naval in the downswing . Add body and add distance to each shot. You will for sure strike the ball well with a swing mimicking Corey swing

@@jpwelch923 true, but they hit it way, way longer than Pavin does.
