The reason the rollers in Splatoon throw so much ink is cuz they're connected to the ink pack on inklings back. There constantly saturated with ink. It would be really cool to see a real roller be built so it could be rolled and dispense ink without re-dipping it in ink tho.
Some rollers also just seem to be metal under the ink instead of something absorbent (like the flingza roller) so that would also let the ink get thrown more freely since it’s not sticking to the roller as much
i also notice a lot of round bumps on the surface of the rollers. those could be points where ink flows from the inner ink storage chambers onto the actual roller surface

You could have a tube with many open holes inside the spongy part and have a trigger to pull to release ink.
imagine a roller where the sponge part could detach and roll off on its own like a brella
I would actually scream if a tube of ink came bouncing at me

I say it could act moreso of a mini Ultra Stamp, but the explosion/damage is that of a burst bomb or explosher

It's 5 AM, I haven't slept, and am slowly realizing how strong Inklings and Octolings actually are. They can carry a roler that is pretty much double their size with almost no issues.
They can also swing a splatana forever without getting tired
It's likely their body masses are much less than ours as they have no bones, so they have much less weight to carry. Keep in mind they can jump up to thousands of metres into the air while travelling at an angle, and the only time they have difficulty doing so is when carrying a mechanical superweapon made of solid gold. In fact, the final phase of Splat2 suggests that, even with the rainmaker, they can superjump, and the only reason they can't in ranked battles is due to rules
The weapons are probably super light. Their technology is WAY more advanced than our actual technology today. Or they are all super buff chads.

this reminds me of the time my brother and i helped my dad clean up a building he was working on. we had to wipe up puddles of rain water, but i ended up flicking my mop and it reminded me of how the splatana and inkbrush worked. i think we both spent more time doing that than actually helping...

To be fair the roller weapons are supplied with ink from inside via tube attached to the tank on your (avatar's) back, meaning a much more saturated roller sponge

They should relieve a new roller weapon with a detachable sponge, it should be called the Big Splash Roller
Wait omg, like it sorta works like a mix of dynamo roller & and ultra stamp
You hold down the button to launch it, and it takes a dynamo wait time time until you can launch it. And once u throw it, it'll be 10 seconds before u get it back. And after thrown, you get a tiny roller for those 10 seconds
And the roller itself, is like a dynamo with being rlly heavy and stff
