Native American's have a song to the sun each sunset. One foot in a stream, one on land unless were no water is. The sounds are not language but feeling of gratitude to all the spirit's and expecally the sun. Sounds something like the connection with essence you speak of. I am grateful for both of you. I perceived the warmth of the sun on my face, and skin the other morning, but then realized the sun doesn't rise in the north! Then it struck me. I said it must be you smiling at a new puppy. Blessid be.

@@TheChap1970 My Grandfather was half Cherokee, and my Family name is Norwegian so I hold both blood's in myself. I find I'm equally drawn to both culture's. When small in New Mexico I was tought to dance by our fullblood janitor at school. He was a instructor for the Thunderbird dance team there. Many concurrences along the years so it must have been the same in the historical past. Thank you for the comment.

The description at the end sounds a little like "Singing in the Spirit" in the Pentecostal Churches. One of the great blessings of turning to a more Traditional Witchcraft path was the realization that I didn't have to give up that part of the faith I left. I have reclaimed that experience of "speaking in tongues" and "Singing in the Spirit" and it is now a major part of my spellcrafting.

This was a beautiful explanation. In Lithuania Romuva, these songs are called Dana's or sing songs. Monotonous sounds, words like Row, Row, Row your boat....& then other people start singing it at a different spot, so there are many singing at different times, but one song. It brings you to a trance state or a Shaman state. The oldest form of chanting/humming. Beautiful.

Dang. I have been practicing galdr specifically for 13 weeks now in my Rune study program i made myself. After about 20-30 minutes of hitting my drumming and chanting the specific rune, my chanting shifts into a more melodic song and from the info in your video it sounds like the vardaloki is finding me naturally through the performing of my galdr.
Love this journey, thank ye Freyia for helping provide guidance.

I knew a Sámi woman once who was a bit of a gatekeeper to her culture and unfortunately ended up being a hypocrite. But she did let in on some traditions of theirs and the Sámi seem like such an incredible people, especially in terms of Shamanic tradition. My girlfriend is interested in Seiðr and I've an interest in Galdr. I've just shared this with her and she's already loving it, thank you for keeping ancient traditions and knowledge alive for us to learn, rebuild, and pass on :)

Your videos are a whole kind of magic of its own which never fails to touch me :) you always know how to explain these, so subtile matters, so well. You put so much thought in every detail.
Classical singer Lisa Gerard from dead can dance sings in a style which she developed as a child. In a interview she explained that it's just her, singing intuitive random syllables which are in harmony to communicate with her environment and the energies she feels. We all did this while being a child, but she continued doing so.
Even though she does nothing with Northern witchcraft, I feel that among her songs Sanvean, Elysium and Devorzhum might instinctively have a link to vardlokkur. She can invoke so much power that hits one right into the soul. A friend of mine who played in an orchestra who once had to work with her complained that she never sticks to the repertoire as she always sings her songs randomly different, being in her own world, and the orchestra could barely keep up with her as she just does her thing in the very moment.
I love the song in which the wolfjoik flows over into. Which artist makes this music? Is the music at 7:37 from the same artist as from the draugr blot video? It fits beautifully with your words. Thank you so much for this video 😊

I'm interested in Galdr, but am not sure how it is created or performed. Can you give me some guidance? Is it a "poem", can it be a single rune word, or is it something else? Also, I have a low pitch of voice, can I use that for Galdr?

As far as i know anyone can use them, my polish friend works with runes and says they are really effective for him, so i think not only certain bloodline, but all the people that feel connected to runic magick can practice this art.
