Shri Pankaj Mallick, Brilliant rustic but have no words to express in words the loving legend.Pumps up spirit of a classic intensity beyond my world of superlatives that m able to listen to his voice.Sir ur Super. My world if u could extend me ur consent.
Excellent verses andsongs of devotion by the one of the greatest singer, musician and director late Shri Pankaj Mullick. I was teenager when I had seen this movie with my parents. Total masterpiece movie on spirituality. Many of it's songs are very inspiring so much soothing mentally to listen.
The concert was perhaps in 1963 or 1964 and it was for two consecutive days bcz I had good fortune of attending both days. It was a heavenly experience and Pankajda was so fluent with harmonium that the songs when completed were so changed that no body can imagine. Thank u God for sending such a genius to us.
You are so lucky! I have adored Pankaj M.'s music all my life, and even more so now in my later years. His voice so soothing and his sweet music a treat to my ears! Recently I was over the moon on being able to find my childhood favorites Sansar Ke Adhar and Tu Dhoondhata Hai Jisko. Also Ramnam Ghanshyam (sung by Biren Pal.). My 2 LP's have Mere Hathile and Tere Mandir Ka. Devvrat, I hope you are familiar with these masterpieces................Signed: Vandana
Beautiful - had never heard this before and just discovered your upload today while searching for another song from this film. A bit belated perhaps but thanks. The song that I was looking for is also a very beautiful solo by Binota Chakraborty - Preet karna na chaahi
Very beautiful!!! Hemant da too has sung Hey Chandrachur.. in a Bangali film Tushartirth Amarnath in 70s, though differently and sounds very melodious.
O Shambhu, the one, Who has the moon on crest, Who is the destroyer of Madan (Kamdev), Who holds a trident in His hand, Who is static, Who is revered by the mountain king Himalaya, Who is the Lord of Girija (Parvati), Who is the supreme Lord, Who is the Lord of everything living, and Who destroys the fears of the bereaved! O Lord of the universe! Save me, the orphan out in this world, from the dense miseries of this world. O Rudra, the one, Who is dear to Parvati, Who has moon on the forehead, Who is the leader of ghosts, Who is the Lord of tormentors, Who is consistently chanted by Himalaya, Who is Vamdev (a form of Shiv), Who is destroyer of the universe (during dooms time), and Who holds the Pinaka! O Lord of the universe! Save me from the dense miseries of this world. O Lord of the world! O destroyer of the cycle of birth and death! O all pervading One! O Soul of everyone! O the one Who is the storehouse of all qualities! O Lord of the world! O the one Who is filled with compassion! O Helper of the weak! O Lord of the universe! Save me from the dense miseries of this world.
The poet begins with a description of the mountain Himalaya, deservedly called as the King of all mountain ranges, for his resourcefulness. From his wife Lady Mèna Devi Mt. Himavan had a son named Mainaka and a daughter called Parvati, who in her former birth was Lady Sati Devi, the daughter of daksha-prjApati and the wife of Shiva. Parvati's childhood and budding youth are then described. When she has attained the marriageable age, the Sage Narada, who is on a visit to Himalaya, foretells that she would win Shiva for her husband. Relying on this prophesy, Himalaya does not particularly bestir himself to search for bridegrooms for his daughter Parvati. In the meanwhile, the god Shiva, after he had lost his wife Lady Sati, had betaken himself to a peak on the Himalaya and was practising ascesis there. When Himalaya comes to know of this, he assigns his daughter Parvati, accompanied by two of her handmaids, to wait upon Shiva in the daily chores of Shiva's ascesis. - M. Pankaj Mullick not only in Ahmedabad performed in 1961, had been coming to Bombay for his concerts i think since 1958 onwards, often 2 consecutive days concerts in Bombay. They used to be in sundarabai hall, shanmukhanand hall, Liberty cinema ( i think only one), metro cinema. I as a child have attended many of them in all 4 places i have mentioned. He visited Surat 3 times for concerts, same time one in Bulsar near Surat. In 2 occasions he went to Ahmedabad from Surat for concerts. His last visit to W.India i know was in 1967, when he performed live for 2 consecutive days in Ahmedabad, which also i had attended. I was in Surat, were traveling to Bombay to Ahmedabad to attend concerts. One such was in Baroda as a part of Tagore birth centinary celebrations, i attended that too but all under 18 years of my age! Many in Bombay as a child. Surat he used to stay at our house, my sister accompanying him in duniya rang rangili and sansar pe aadhar, tumi kemon kore he would sing Bengali, sister Hindi. The usually appearing photographs fans see including postal stamp released, few of CD labels, they are taken by my father who was a photographer and his diehard fan, which i got inherited from my parents. My mother was also his diehard fan.

Yes, agreed, Pankaj Mullick undoubtedly sacrificed and gave his best compositions to KLS to sing, he could have otherwise kept for himself. My Sister, Dushman, Jindagi, Dharati Mata etc songs are the examples.
