I can't for the life of me understand why your videos are not WAY more likes and seen. You explain things in a way that makes it easy to grasp and understand where most others are just "Practice the spider whatever for speed and control!" and don't explain the why and how of it.
Picked up a 'Sweep' picking concept from Frank Gambale (master of the sweep).. when moving in one direction on a sweep, odd number of notes per string will keep you going in that same direction.. as soon as you change to an even number of notes, that's the way you start your sweep in the opposite direction .. odd = same direction; even = reverse direction.. it works with arpeggio sequences, scale sequences (pent or modal) it works.. it's amazing.. Claus you're awesome you keep my cogs a turnin !! ;)
Hi Why is it better than a regular alternate picking? And how can I use it in improvising, I find it makes that more complex, because it looks like something you have to prepare in advance, isn’t it?
That's ok I've been playing for 30 and still cant pick like claus. I do believe claus is sharing the secrets tho, millions (literary) reps, FOCUSED on 1 exercise, with accents. Since I've been doing that speed increase has no choice but to come. I believe the hardest part is the focusing on a small enough section. Seems so counter productive, meanwhile it is the most effective. Imo

Yeah! It's moldable let's build on it and make it flexible...
I just love Claus, can't have enough... Great lesson

Awesomeness (drill sargent) Claus !!!! Thanks be looking forward to next lessons and course that hopefully follows. Perfect.
Hey Claus, a lesson on bend vibratos would be cool. I have always struggled with doing vibratos after bending the strings...

In the beginning it will be odd to you. But when you really get it down it will feel like butter for you.
Why from the up stroke?
Cant get access
Hi Steve
Can't get access to what?
Could you please elaborate a bit, then I can try to help you.
I've been playing for 6 years now and still couldn't decode alternate picking
Try putting ur pinky down as an anchor. Works best without pickup guards wrap it like Petrucci, it worked for me
