Preach Will, the Scottie talk was a great assessment about his approach.

Ja'Kobe killin' it this game! Considering 3 starters missing, another good game by the Raptors. Ft disparity killing them.

Scottie lets poor shooting affect his energy and confidence. Poor shooting nights happen, he needs to play through it and not let it impact other parts of his game.

Jakobe is the future!! Refs were shady as f*ck this game, we clearly outscored them in all the main categories

Scottie takes way too many 3s he kills the offence. He needs to be a better leader. He needs to play to his strengths and then take the 3. No way he needs to take 10 x 3s a game. He shouldn’t be taking more 3 attempts than our shooters.

This team never rides the hot hand. I'm pretty sure Ja'Kobe can play more than 5 minutes in the 1st quarter when he's shooting like that, but no, this team just subs arbitrarily regardless of what is happening on the court. Like I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure most players would have absolutely no problem playing the whole 1st quarter while they are outscoring the other team by themselves.
Like, maybe let him play until he misses or at least looks somewhat tired? I don't know, but to me he just looked baffled rather than tired sitting on the bench after that start.

So maybe you don't know this, but typically when a player gets a 2nd foul in the first quarter they get benched. He picked up his first 2 fouls with 9:35 on the clock in the first, and was not benched until 5:49. By that time, he had 2 fouls, and at least 4 misses. I think they played him for as long as they could while maintaining a balance of his fouls and his efficiency.

Early foul trouble, and then later, even burned a challenge on him and he later fouled out. They did extend/optimize Walter as much as they could.
All rookies take time learning how to not foul in the NBA. There are the politics (establishing yourself) and the actual playing curve.
