Hi, I have been following your videos which I really love. My question here is what do you think about Curve Bender compared to most of the EQs in your studio. Looking forward for your thoughts. Thanks
500 series is a very different story. I'm more talking from the stereo 19 inch rack perspective. A stereo pair will cost you around £1500. 500 series gear is a lot more affordable as it is scaled down and doesn't require a power supply as it'll be powered by the 500 series rack. I can not think of one 19 inch rack EQ that is under £1000 that is quality and better than a really good plugin emulation of a great EQ.
@@AudioAnimalsStudio I use too have the Pultec emulation byApogee and then I bought the Warm Audio one and it’s seem better to my ears … never did an A/B so… maybe it’s just a mind trick because of the actual analog interface …🤷🏻♂️
@Alderick Zéke-Walter it really depends on the emulation. I'm comparing to the PQ emulation which is a very accurate emulation. This plugin will sound as good if not better than any hardware £1000 below.
Good day sir! Hope all is well across the pond!! which out of the two following eq's would you recommend, Dangerous Bax or the Goly DSeq for high shelving? I impulsively had just ordered the Goly yet have a good feel about it! but not enough reviews on it! Thanks again!!
You can see the DSEQ over my shoulder and I also have a Dangerous BAX next door. So I can tell you you have made the right choice. You have what is essentially a BAX EQ in the DS EQ but with the Goly you also have the dynamic EQ section which is brilliant.
Oh perfect!! Indeed I do see it,and from what you did with it the mastering in studio B video was excellent to have it at the end of the chain!! ! Also the fact that it is dynamic on both bands, I 'm sure they'll be dancing on both ends😉,then Goly Compeq is next on the list.. Thank you so much for sharing some your hard earned extensive knowledge! Well appreciated sir!!Cheers!
@@AudioAnimalsStudio Wow!! That is amazing having a few on hand! As you mentioned in the video that it is a unique box and I'm all about it! I will be ordering one this week..also knobs and meters look attractive, I mix with my ears but visuals always inspire lol!!Thanks again! By any chance, do you guys have any type of a program, that I can join , or shadow with pros to learn more about mastering?
Could you rate(on a 10) a combo of a ssl fusion and an ssl bus+ hardware, then a spl iron and pq as plugins for now. Also, what do you think of the Fairchild eq and compressor vs Spl pq and iron?
The PQ is a very close emulation. Compression isn't ever emulated as well. The fusion and bus plus is a good combo. Watch my review how the two pair for my thoughts. Guessing you are referring to fairchild plugin? If so it's quite a weak emulation. Check my plugin Vs hardware comparisons on that. Spl iron and PQ would be a better option.
Hi. where do you put LO and HI cut filters ? at the beginning, or at the end of a chain ? my hardware EQ don't have a hard Lo and Hi pass filters. And I apply at the beginning of the analog chain MAAT EQs for this purpose. Is it true? thank you
@@AudioAnimalsStudio Thanks for the reply. The Waves plugin? I used to have a 204, sold it, regretted it, just rebought. Just discovered your channel - it’s absolutely great. Also just ordered a master from you, so looking forward to hearing that!
What's your thoughts on the rackmount Ultraviolet EQ and the Ssl G Compressor? I wanna build a rackmount situation and I was looking at those to go in my setup along with a cranborne interface 😩
@Audio Animals Studio I was just wondering cause I know they're not in the top end of what you were naming and so I didn't know if they were something good to get and they really trash lol
I'm thinking to buy the SSL Fusion to connect my SPL PassEQ so I can use it mid side. Maybe also with a compressor.
I have just got the SPL Gemini for this and it is so much better than the fusion. A little more money but it is an incredibly useful tool.

The Curve Bender is a good EQ. It isn't my cuppa tea but no doubt it's good.
Hmmm from my experience, I just got 2 Rupert Neve Desing inductor EQ 500 and it leaves all my best plug-in way behind in the starting block.

Can anyone tell me what any drawbacks are to the Massive Passive please?? Vs an SPL EQ ??
Hi, what about the API 5500 hardware eq? What range of quality would you say is that for mastering?
It's a good EQ. It isn't going to be your everything EQ but it'll certainly be welcome in any chain something different.

@BIGLIL the comp EQ is brilliant. I now have two using them in mid side. It is really powerful.

Yes I do actually. A brilliant tool to have. I personally prefer the in the box version.

The Hyperion is a great sounding EQ with instant recall too. Which is great and very handy to have.

They are both really good. I used to own both in 500 series and x rack format. The ultraviolets are really nice EQs.
