- Belmont University Musical Theatre Department Presents URINETOWN as its fall 2009 musical.
"Follow Your Heart" features Ben Laxton ('11) as Bobby Strong and Maggie McDowell ('11) as Hope.
URINETOWN ran from November 19 - 22, 2009 in Massey Concert Hall on Belmont University's campus in Nashville, TN. The show has music and lyrics by Mark Hollman and a book by Greg Kotis. Direction by David Shamburger with Producer/Music Director Marjorie Halbert.

this is the best version of Urinetown I've seen. I love this musical with an undying passion and it is dream to direct it.

Try being one of the chorus, it's hella hard. Especially when you're a cop, the poor, and a UGC executive. You barely have time to change. But I enjoyed playing in my high school version just the same.
the Bobby putting his head to Hope's chest moment is perfect. Its so wonderfully awkward and hilarious.
This is absolutely fantastic. I am applying to school as a musical theatre major this year, and this video alone has inspired me to apply to Belmont.
I'm rooting for you, Ben Laxton. Make it big, please!
My Highschool is doing this show right now and i think the people playing Hope and Bobby (at my school) do this scene really well, because of them this is my favorite scene.

it's a satirical comedy. this scene is making fun of the romeo and juliet type characters. it's suposed to be funny.

my high school did this play and.. it was just as good as this in this scene idk we have 2 really really good actors in our theater. the guy that played bobby was just crazy good and better with his facial features then this guy. but this is still really good :)
I preferred it in spanish, maybe because that´s my native language but still I love it like this

I think those scene is meant to be more heart felt. I don't like how they made it humorous. Love this musical though.
