You make a good point about the speed insignificance. I never noticed this b/c my player has a low speed rating. 2K11 was an overall better game, but the hall of fame mode and tweaking to My Player is better in 2K12. The AI is also better in 2K12. When I pass to my teammates in My Player mode, they actually do things on their own and don't rely on me all the time.
to be honest on hall of fame they dont make it more competitive they make the game cheat more i played hall of fame the otha night thinkin i would play a high speed competitive game but no i was wrong instead they make a LAST PLACE team outscore me 11-0 in the first these games just aint like they used to be smh
The problem is that the my player isn't running fast enough. If you see a John Wall or Derrick Rose fastbreak coast-to-coast video, you see them sprinting down the court taking about 2 steps per bounce of the ball. I do agree that some players like Pryzbilla and Oden are running a little too fast. When you see Derrick Rose run with the ball, he is running almost straight and swaying side to side trying to make it pass the defender. Shows that 2k12 needs a realistic NBA fastbreak.
I totally agree and yet there's still much more to be fixed. Like, whenever the opposing player is open, he WON'T miss, like, never! That's impossible. The other day, Perkins nailed a 17 footer, simply because he was open. That DOES NOT happen IRL, he would never attempt a 17 footer because he was open. Shot selection is a major issue aswell, it's like it doesn't matter the player and how low his atributes are, he can nail any shot because he's open.
I think it was a last min change to make the speed more similar for better game play..less fast breaks and easy drives. Probably started off with good intentions, and got lazy fixing it up before release.
Maybe height and stride distance matters too? Taller people can take bigger steps, so they don't have to move their feet as fast. It depends on the definition of "speed" in the game though. If "speed" is simply how fast a person will move at max, then something's wrong. But if it's the rate of foot movement, then height might matter. Babbitt and Oden are both significantly taller than Smoove, so height might be a factor in speed.
This is true. Players with 25 speed aren't really that noticably slow. And the computer will almost always catch up with you on a fast break, or steal any pass thrown on a fast break.
If you move the left stick left to right, you will move significantly faster because the ball is in front of you & u are running after it hope it helps, thats why pros do it
It's the catching-the-pass animation that fucks you over EVERY DAMN TIME on the break. Which is why I quit driving, I just pull up after a double move.
The problem is this, the computer on defense can immediately bolt and hit turbo, while on offense the game makes it so whenever you turbo there's a small delay. All these little 'hidden' stuff to make MY Player in 2k12 harder(along with keeping your base shot off dribble 65 or 70 with NO way to change it) is part of the reason my player in 2k12 is so terrible in comparison.
I'm just thinking maybe speed isn't the only factor that goes into how fast a player moves. Maybe height AND speed points together, not just height. But yes, I still think that 1 speed point should do something more noticeable, considering how much it costs. And really, a 40-50 point difference should give you the upper hand.
Gotta turn up your hustle and quickness. A lot of the attributes and abilities go hand-in-hand. Makes the game more realistic and better, in my opinion. I understand your frustration though. Concentrates your efforts on making your player a more well-rounded player. Instead of randomly becoming great when you hit the rating of 85.
I think you are right about everthing. It's not possible to enjoy My player this year. However there are very good sliders and rosters in community. I play player lock in Association Hall of Fame and with a trick, i play with my created player as a rookie. Created player has 76 overall rating and i was a starter from the beginning in Chicago Bulls. I increased shooting tendencies for my teammates so they shoot when they are open. They are active in pick and roll etc. I think you should try it.
@Smoove7182954 & others. It's the high difficulty. If you have it on the highest difficulty, the game tries to make the computer players even to give you a challenge so they run faster. When you take the difficulty down you'll see a difference & online games have a difference so it does have effect.
Thats my favorite. Lebron gets the ball and always hit last second 3 pointers... LAST SECOND THREE POINTERS! Every time. This happens for Dwade, Kobe, even some reject players.
One thing I have found is that if I double tap sprint(Sprint, slow down and sprint again, for some reason they speed suddenly works and you leave them in the dust,) I usually beat the guy chasing me on the break, not the other guys though...
nba2k12 has this magnet concept. Like at times with defense or when you dont' have the ball, they like to magically attract you to another player. But I also agree with others about sliders. Same shit with madden when they stiffened up the run game. Adjust it so it doesn't feel like Reggie bush prior to going to Miami when running and being able to blow up between the holes.
if you look at the strides by the centers compared to the pgs, the centers have large strides. that probably is the reason why centers are so fast, but still 2k has to fix that.
whenever you get the ball wide open, the defense magically catches up back to you and you can't even blow by them as soon as you get the ball. and whenever your teammate is posting up, everyone crowds the paint to try and block him and theres never any foul calls. and if guy posting up were to kick it out, they magically recover on defense. this game is epic bs.
Another problem with NBA 2K is how I pick a 3 PT. Specialist , i'll be WIDE open and shoot with a perfect release and still miss. 2K needs to fix this ASAP.
I agree. The game has too much cheese in it to let it slide. The teammate AI is ridiculously stupid, speed and quickness mean nothing (so I left mine at 70), and it's possible to make constant threes with one player and go 10/10 from downtown.
The reason it's not working is because Speed is based off of that Sprint you do when you pull the trigger when you first get the ball, Not the whole time.
This has been complained about for years now, and its the one thing they keep deciding to ignore and overlook, all to prevent online cheesing at the expensive of realism
There is another side to this the other players take bigger footsteps and it slows u down to dribble the ball and catch it but I don't think 2k would bother to dig that deep
I thought I was the only person who felt this way about 2K12.. Its like attributes are screwed and so is the referee calls from team penalty shots, out of bounds, and other turnovers.. I really hope they step 2K13 up bcuz if not i'm gettn NBA LIVE 13.
Actually running backs in the NFL can run that fast in one step. Sports Science had Marshawn Lynch testing, and in a game he was running stiff armed to a full stop than full speed again. They also did Chris Johnson and other backs.
I bet smoove use to rage so hard on this game off the mic
Lol rite
Babbitt probably had the hall of fame chasedown artist badge
Had that badge before badges even existed lmao
This video is still fucking hilarious to this day LMAOO
This is every 2K since 2k12 lmao
babbitt the rabbitt super funny dude lol

"That's unacceptable."

Greatest 2k video of all time 😂😂💯
This and how to beat HOF on 2k11, shi has me cryin
Speed is affected by difficulty. You play on Hall of Fame I think, so your opponents' stats are increased (including speed).
it’s been 11 years how’s life going bro?

Wow this videos are still funny till this day incredible 😮
LMFAOOOO BEGINNING HAS ME CRYING
dude your hilarious the way you talk in frustration just made me laugh so much
2018 anyone?
I just discovered your videos today. I can't stop watching them.
Babbitt that rhymes with Rabbitt that's why he's a Rabbitt ha ha I love your laugh
You ave hall of fame diffulty
The defense is intense even at speed xD
Babbitt the Rabbitt!
u got it on simulation

i think it's either of these two things: 1, the speed is only for off-ball movements or 2, the hustle option is really high
I could be wrong, but it may have somethin to do with your difficulty idk.
DBZ Meez it is superstar difficulty is the realist hall of fame is a such a cheese
Still better than 2k 13 14 and so on.
In 2k12 I have 80 speed and im faster than john wall
When you were saying "That's BS" you sounded like my cousin Brandon haha
I totally agree and yet there's still much more to be fixed.

One of the reasons 2k12 was one of the worst 2ks of all time
No 2k18
@@Shockkings0714agreed 💯 2k18 is dogshit
This has been in every 2K since 2012
i laughed so hard at "Babbit rhymes with rabbit" hahahahahahah

Yo it's kind of funny cause when you did it slow motion with Tyrus Thomas you guys were taking the exact same footsteps
I hear ya on the open 3's. It seemed the more I raised my 3pt attribute, the worse it got lol
There is a way around this. To outrun them keep switching the ball between hands in the fast break. You will leave them in the dust.
It's the White Mamba; God couldn't help you there, cause he was guarding you already
That, sir, is why I still play NBA Live 2003.
The problem is this, the computer on defense can immediately bolt and hit turbo, while on offense the game makes it so whenever you turbo there's a small delay.

Greg Oden's secret is that Hall of Fame cheese. And the fact that his knees are more robot than human.
Dude, Greg Oden running a full court without getting injured!
I really hope 2K watches your videos. They need to hire you as a developer.
I think today I had my best game :). I got 37 points 9 rebounds 17 assists 16 steals in 48 minutes, and we smoked the other team 115-59. :O
The same happens whit "Steal" atribute -.-
Nice vid bro
Smoove... when you talk it reminds me of LL Cool J... no joke lmfao

What's even more unrealistic is Oden making that play without injuring himself
Chris smoooove greg oden oon tha muthaphuckin break lmaoooo

i love how terrible the sp system is, Like around 5:07, "Bad Steal Attempt" turns into "Good Steal"
For that box thingy that appears on the right, its RB for xbox and those letters appearing on top of the players is LB
The haha at 0:17 killed me xD
There might be a setting that allows you to increase the difference in speed ratings to where higher speed ratings are actually faster.
They have longer legs so they do larger strides making it quite easy to catch up with you
Yes but the strides should be much slower than his and theyre not, look again
nba2k12 has this magnet concept. Like at times with defense or when you dont' have the ball, they like to magically attract you to another player.

2:15 damn greg oden chased him down like LeBron lol
This is one of the problem of this kind of games , your right .
You should present this to 2kSports
Another problem with NBA 2K is how I pick a 3 PT. Specialist , i'll be WIDE open and shoot with a perfect release and still miss. 2K needs to fix this ASAP.
Depends on the shot release time cause that could be why
Yeah ikr, its the player speed setting. It's usually under game speed.
Greg Oden was genetically modified after his knee surgeries
the problem is it takes too many steps to cover the court a good point guard is gonna take 5 strides tops to get to the rim
I agree. The game has too much cheese in it to let it slide. The teammate AI is ridiculously stupid, speed and quickness mean nothing (so I left mine at 70), and it's possible to make constant threes with one player and go 10/10 from downtown.
The second i missed 3 A+ Grade, Perfect Release, WIDE OPEN shots.. i sold the game & bought nba 2k10
Height and hustle is what makes speed in this game
Really like your video...and this is why I don't waste my SP for speed...
5:03 E.Okafor is jogging and is keeping up with him LMFAO xD
The reason it's not working is because Speed is based off of that Sprint you do when you pull the trigger when you first get the ball, Not the whole time.
It's their legs. Because they're taller they have longer strides and therefore can keep up with you.
You had a perfect alley oop opportunity!!!
This video shows the truth that 2k never understood... That they need to actually have played basketball before making a game based on it.
It's about speed and quickness. Get them both up and it's deadly.
on those fast breaks when they catch up to u. Thats where u have to do a spin move
This has been complained about for years now, and its the one thing they keep deciding to ignore and overlook, all to prevent online cheesing at the expensive of realism
There is another side to this the other players take bigger footsteps and it slows u down to dribble the ball and catch it but I don't think 2k would bother to dig that deep
that laugh at 17 is fu*kin funny.. im dead
From what i hear there hustle improves the speed, so if you have a high hustle the speed is increased by it
I thought I was the only person who felt this way about 2K12.. Its like attributes are screwed and so is the referee calls from team penalty shots, out of bounds, and other turnovers.. I really hope they step 2K13 up bcuz if not i'm gettn NBA LIVE 13.
That sucks! I don't have 2k12, but I remember in 2k11 the first thing I got to 99 was speed, and I DESTROYED people with it.
He needs to do a song with that "amazing" part hahaa
he does have a point in all fairness, obviously the games making calculations, so it must go on something to do with height multiplied by something
Smoove it is the hustle its pretty jacked up but its how high their hustle is get your hustle up and youll blow them out of the water. :)
the only thing i hate about 2k is the fact that u cant get a sick fast break slam
@BeetzBum i agree! in nab 2k11 i was used to upgrade speed but now i upgrade medium shot, close shot and 3PT shoot my player is a beast
Having the same problem as you.. :) I don't even do the speed trick anymore, got 79 speed for my player, but I run as fast as Westbrook
you can't beat these guys on the break is because you're running into them
Also, don't be afraid to PASS THE BALL
hey this is my sisters channel but ur awesome and ur my favorite nba 2k12 person ur the coolest dude ever ur the best nba 2k12 person
Every player sprints the same speed sadly. Speed and quickness only come into play when you're trying to conserve turbo/stamina.
Oden is a beast haha. Both Blazers killing it in this.
Actually running backs in the NFL can run that fast in one step. Sports Science had Marshawn Lynch testing, and in a game he was running stiff armed to a full stop than full speed again. They also did Chris Johnson and other backs.
slower than babbit but faster then babbit lmao . love the autotune nice vid
Eff this has always pissed me off when people catch my max speed character in a "fast" break
Defensive awareness matters, and so does footwork
